This horror story has it all. It is a frightening story that centers around a demented priest who has gone off his rocker. He hates the way he looks and goes after people on dating apps too, "Do the Lords Work." His acclaimed noble quest is interrupted and he finds himself chasing after a 16-year-old boy that might expose his secrete. Insanity is a chilling subject and even more horrifying when it happens to those you would least expect.
This book is a very short read of craziness and a man's self-image that is extremely distorted and ugly. As a Christian myself, I strongly believe there is nothing in God's Word that allows us to hate anyone, regardless of the sin, because we all sin and fall short. It hurts that a minister, much less a Christian could be so wrong about this.
Mr. Sparrow writes such dark works but I love to read them because they are real and are happening in the world and to the most vulnerable of people. While I thought while reading, that no one would really be hypocritical enough to tell themselves that what THEY were doing was okay while someone else doing the same thing was not, I realize it happens all of the time. Sad as that is. I love all people and I do not love to read about their pain but I do love to learn how people think and I think Mr. Sparrow has nailed it. In my life's work, I have worked with children with mental illnesses and wish I could find a way to recognize and help these people.
