Challenge: Hispanic and Latina/o/x Heritage Month

The book I chose to read for this month was Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse The Official Movie Special , written by Titan Comics. This book is a movie special for Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse . This book shows information on the actors, characters, animation, and behind the scenes work of the movie. This book goes over all of the characters in the movie, but a few of the characters are Miles Morales, Gwen Stacy, and Kingpin. There isn't really a plot in the book, but it goes over the art style and characters a lot throughout the book, which I find really cool to learn about. The writing style in the book is meant to mimic a comic book with big panels next to the characters in comic-type font. There is also writing at the bottom of each page to talk about different things about the movie. The settings and imagery of each picture is really cool because it shows cool locations in the movie and also showcases the art styles of each character. The main thing I liked about the book was that it gave really cool facts about the movie, which is one of my favorite movies ever. I also love the art in the book, and it really keeps you engaged. One thing I didn't love about the book was that it took a long time to read because there was a lot of text on each page. The book made me feel really nostalgic because it takes me back to the first time I saw the movie. I also felt really amazed seeing all the cool frames and art. Overall, I had a fun time reading the book because I enjoyed learning more about Spider-Verse and I loved the art. I would recommend this book to anyone who is a fan of the movie, or anyone who loves superheroes or comics. I would rate the book a 4 out of 5 stars because of it's entertainment value and the cool pictures and fun facts.

This is oriented more toward younger readers who are just being introduced to these characters and this world. I’m not sure why that’s needed, given that the movie does that just fine. I suppose it’s more of a reminder. It does feature stills and characters from the movie so you can take in all the detail, so there’s that.
