3.5 - 4 Stars!!
This was my first read by this author and to be honest I really didn’t know what to expect. ‘Jake’ is the third installment in Juliette Jones’s series entitled “Billionaire Series”, can be read as a standalone and despite all the instas I quite enjoyed it. Juliette delivered a sweet and sexy tale with an endearing heroine and a sexy, alpha hero that will melt you in a puddle of goo.
Jake Wolfe is a successful business man with a dark past. He has a long list of criminal offenses, mostly minor things he did when he was younger. He used to be a player, mostly having just one-night-stands using women in one way or another. Right now, Jake’s live is a mess. He recently got convicted of insider trading and sentenced to three months of home detention, so all he wants is to clear his name and find out who framed him. Sugar knew what she wants to do with her life since she was just a little girl – baking pies and have her own business. Four months ago, she moved to New York with some of her savings and a loan from her grandma, dreaming to open a restaurant. Now, she has a successful restaurant, everyone wanting to taste her pies.
Jake and Sugar meet in Sugar’s restaurant, briefly interacting with each other, but they soon meet again when Sugar literally runs into Jake. She needs some saving and Jake is ready to do anything for her, even if she barely knows her.
The story was interesting, pretty well written with two endearing main characters I really liked reading about. Jake was an awesome hero. He was loyal and caring with his loved ones and with Sugar was simply wonderful – so sweet, thoughtful and protective. He was an awesome alpha-male with a big heart, I really liked as the story progressed, even if at times he was a little OTT. Sugar was a sweet, caring and overall a likeable heroine. I liked the way he accepted Jake exactly how he was and how sweet and considerate she was about his past. Jake and Sugar’s story was sexy as hell. I loved all the sexy times between them and also their passion.
What I would have wanted to be different was the little drama with Camille. I would have liked this aspect of the story to be more developed and I wouldn’t have minded the story to have a little more angst.
Overall, 'Jake' was a well done, fast paced story with two endearing main characters and plenty of sweet and sexy moments.

Jake is book three in the Billionaire Series by Juliette Jones. This is the second book I have read by Juliette and I have to say I am more and more in love with her characters. Jake made me swoon, sigh and melted me into a puddle of goo. Yep, he was that good!
Jake Wolfe was a successful businessman, a billionaire. He used to be known as a player with a string of one night stands. But he hasn’t bothered with women for years. He gave up on trying to feel anything for any of them. He is a broken man. His life is currently a mess. He’s been wrongly accused of insider trading and sentenced to three months of house arrest. He vows to find the person that framed him. Until then, he is on a prolonged vacation from work. He and his brother and his brother’s fiancée are going out to dinner at a new local restaurant when his life was literally tilted off it’s axis. As soon as he saw her he knew she was meant for him. But she was like a ray of sunshine and he couldn’t shadow her with his own darkness. He had to stay away.

Sugar Malone found at an early age what she was good at, baking pies. It’s been her life long dream to open her own restaurant. Sugar’s has been open for a couple of months and it is flourishing. People come from everywhere to taste her pies. Sugar’s life hasn’t been easy either. Her mother goes from one husband to the next so eventually Sugar ended up with her Grandmother. She was staying with her Mom and her current husband to save money while she opened her restaurant in New York until her step father made an inappropriate advance to her which left her with a black eye. Now she sleeps in her office at the restaurant.
When Jake has finally given up on trying to stay away from Sugar, she literally runs into him on the street. She needs saving and he most definitely wants to save her.
“I’m not usually the kind of girl who needs rescuing.” I tell him.
“I’m not usually the kind of guy who does the rescuing,” he says.
“But this time it’s different. This time everything’s different.”
Jake…my oh my, Jake! This man puts a new definition to the term alpha! He knows that Sugar is what he has been waiting for all his life and he will have her! The entire book goes back and forth between Sugar and Jake’s point of view so we are able to get into both of their heads. The book was the perfect combination of super sexy times, sweetness and even a little suspense. Was Jake over the top? Oh yeah, he was and I loved every second of it! I haven’t read the previous book which is his brother, Alexander’s story but now I definitely want to. I could not put this down. I absolutely loved it and I can honestly say that Jake will be in my head for awhile. Juliette Jones has definitely made a fan out of me!

3.5 stars. This story was an enjoyable sexy ride of a romance.
Jake Wolfe is a wealthy business tycoon with a dark past and a criminal record. Now at the age of twenty-seven he wants to put all that behind him and make a fresh start.
But Jake has his hands full these days as he got convicted of insider trading and been served a three-month home detention and fitted with an electronic bracelet. Someone framed him making airtight case against him and now he’s hell bent to find out who screwed him over. Women love Jake and in his former life he used to be a player of the worst kind using his good looks and bad-boy persona to his own twisted advantage. After a while, tired to live this life, he just quit and since then he’s been living a monk-like workaholic existence. He doesn’t date and has been celibate for the last four years…until one day he stumbles across a sight which ignites a wild obsession and an all-consuming lust and love.
Sugar Malone is the proud and fresh owner of a new trendy restaurant in New-York. Her life is dedicated to her work, baking and cooking has always been her passion and her only goal now is working to make her restaurant among the best in the city. Her perseverance and determination paid off and she’s about to achieve that dream but she’s also in dire need of help to escape her abusive stepfather. For the most part, this was an engaging read and a good escape into La-La Land but I could have done without the constant reminder that he was mister Super-cock-man. It made me roll my eyes every time it was mentioned. Also the little drama with Camille was too easily resolved for my liking. Overall, Jake and Sugar’s story was fast, hot, and sugary sweet. The ending tugged at my heart, sweet and swoon worthy. If that's what you're looking for, this will fit the bill perfectly.

Jake hasn't always been a good guy. Demons from his past and a slew of bad decisions left him with scars and a criminal record. At the age of 27, he has been working hard to move on and leave all that behind.

Sugar Malone is working her tail off to make her restaurant SUGAR a success. She left Georgia and her Grandma behind in the hopes of one day being able to pay her back and fix up their family home. When her mother's latest husband attacks her, it sends her running right into the arms of one smokin hot Jake Wolfe.
This book was SWEET. Oh SO sweet. And that was A-OK with me. Sometimes I like a little (OK A LOT) of syrupy goodness in a book. To be honest, though, it probably would have got an extra .5 star had there been even a little angst. They pretty much meet and it was all SMOOTH SAILING from there. Like I said, though, I still enjoyed the heck out of it.
I found it to be well written. The plot flowed nicely and I never felt like skimming. The two main characters were likable. The sex scenes were hot. The stalking plotline was wrapped up a little too easily IMO, but again, that was just a minor issue. And we even get a nice little look into the future epilogue.
Overall, a solid 4 star read that gets two thumbs up from yours truly.

4.5 HAPPILY EVER AFTER STARS
Before I begin my review of this book I will freely admit that I have NOT read the previous book with this hero in it. And if you have not done so, I would suggest not reading it. It may influence your feelings about this book or so I have been told. Also, you don't have to read it in order to enjoy this book as it is completely standalone.
This book I LOVED IT!
It's the story of a reformed man whore called Jake. He is 27 year old and an investment stock exchange broker that has been wrongly convicted of insider trading. He entres a restaurant to meet his brother and his new wife but instead he falls hard for Sugar an innocent pie maker/restaurant owner.
For him, Sugar is an angel and far too good and pure for him! He thinks he is too broken and unworthy of her. Therefore, he tries to stay away!
And for a few weeks he was able to do this but he feelings run too deep and honestly after 4 years of abstaining he wanted to get himself a piece of her pie!
Yes, He had a slice and now he wants the whole pie complete with pie maker.
Now we come to the heroine our sweet Sugar who is 23 years old red head, who loves to bake and wants to make the world a sweet place. She was raised by mostly her grandmother who lived near a peach orchard and showed her how to bake.
She comes to live with her mother and he new husband in NewYork. She is trying to make enough money to help her grandma renovate her home.
Also, to assert her independent and start on her own life as a baker/restaurant owner.
She was not prepared to meet Mr "HOT gypsy or a roughed-up Ralph Lauren model who’d partied too hard, with his brooding looks and killer body."
She has her own issues with her new step daddy trying to get her into his bed by any means fair or foul!
He is just not above anything, including rape and/or blackmail.
Lucky for Sugar she knows how to defend herself and finds herself running straight into Jakes arms.
He wastes no time taking control of the situation and helping her with a place to stay.
She tell him:
"I’m not usually the kind of girl who needs rescuing,” and he says
“I’m not usually the kind of guy who does the rescuing, But this time it’s different. This time everything’s different.”
The connection they feel for each other is real and frightening to them both.
Jake was looking for his HEA and she had given up on ever finding it.
How will they find a way to make it work!?
Jake finally takes a chance and tells her:
"Aphrodite Calliope Diana Penelope Malone, I’ve known you for exactly twenty-seven days. I’ve spent fifty-two hours with you. And I’m in love with you. I’m a fucked-up mess, but I’ve never felt as good as I feel when I’m with you. I’ll do anything to keep you."
I totally enjoyed this book and would recommend it to anyone looking for a sweet fairy tale type story complete with the "and they lived happily ever after" at the end and an EPIC EPILOGUE!
I LOVED THIS WHOLE BOOK!

Jake Wolfe's life was going down the drain. After years of working hard building his career, his name was dragged to the mud when he was falsely convicted for insider trading. When he saw Sugar, he recognized the need to be her protector and determined to make her his, even as his future precariously hanged in a balance.
I adore Jake from the beginning. He was loyal and protective of his loved ones. I like how he took care of Sugar. I could use a Jake in my life haha! I also like his relationship with his brother.
Sugar seemed too innocent at times, but she was also badass in her own sweet way. I like how she returned the favor for everything Jake did for her.
The story was interesting with a couple of major issues they had to overcome. I like how it was developed but not how it was resolved - a little too convenient. Oh, I also wish for more hot sex lol!
Jake is a story of a couple brought together in time of their needs and how they helped each other overcoming the adversity. It would appeal to readers looking for a light, sweet read with a more elaborate plot while still being fairly short.
Note: I think the book over emphasized the size of his cock with constant mentions of it being huge/monstrous/gargantuan/humongous/etc. lol!

IT'S LIVE!!!
Attention: this book is a STANDALONE and 100% safe ( like I've said before the prequel isn't safe but since it doesn't exist for me nor portraits the couple, it never existed for me, LOL)
Jake proves to be the most perfect Hero, even more considering his tormented past! Sugar was EVERYTHING to him, and I could fell that love and devotion, as he was discovering all these new and amazing feelings for another being!

Wow I loved most of this book and while I'm not really a fan of insta-love here it worked and fit right in.
Jake is twenty-seven years old and he's had a tough life, he has a juvenile record and looks like a bad boy but he's reformed, he's pulled himself up with the help of his brother Alexander and while he may have had to buy his way into Harvard he graduated top of his class. Sugar's life is going well, she's opened her own restaurant in New York City and it's doing really well in fact she's struggling to keep up with demand and she should be so happy and she is or would be if she wasn't sleeping in her office under her desk everynight because she too afraid to go home after being attacked by her abusive stepfather.
So both Jake and Sugar need love and then they meet and it's amazing, it's instant and Jake especially feels like a whole new world has opened up.
I loved the whole first half of the book so much. Yes it's sweet, maybe a little too much but I loved it, sometimes sweet is all you need.
So why not 5*?
I'm being picky but I have to be fair and since I complain about stupid in other books so I have to do the same here. Both characters have a stupid moment plus the whole Camille thing was ridiculous but I didn't mind that much because by that point I was so in love with Jake and Sugar it didn't really matter but in the interests of an honest review I have to mention it.
After finishing this book I went to check Alexander's with the intention of reading that only to discover I'd already read it back in February 2014 and I hadn't been particularly impressed but it consisted of seven short books and I'm not a fan of these serialised short reads since each book seems to be little more than a taster for the next one.
I'm so glad the author wrote 'Jake' as a complete book.

I’ve been waiting a while to find out just what make’s Jake Wolfe the man he is and I finally got all my questions answered. I first met and fell in love with Jake in the book Taming Jake Wolfe. I knew something deep and dark had happened to him to make him do and act the way he did. Juliette Jones did a SPECTACULAR job with Jake! I fell even HARDER in love with him! After all who would not fall in love with a SEXY WELL HUNG BILLIONAIRE with a dark past and a heart of gold?
Jake is SO tired of woman falling at his feet. He is tired of being stalked by woman who say they love him when they have NO idea who he really is. So he’s cut off all his sexual behavior and has stayed away from all women for 2 years.
Sugar Melone has just moved to New York City. She has opened a restaurant where she serves up delicious meals and her signature homemade apple pie. She has been saving herself for true love which she has not been able to find.
One day Jake along with his brother and his brother’s fiancée decide to try the new restaurant out. All’s it takes is one look between them and sparks fly.
It’s a while before they meet up again and Jake appears just when Sugar needs him the most. Once again my love for Jake grows even deeper for him. He IS the perfect hero and he proves himself over and over as the story moves along.
While I felt Jake was the PERFECT hero, I also LOVED Sugar! By the end of the book, she too was a hero with her caring and gentle ways that she has. Just as Jake was there for her, she too was there for him.
The heat level and sex/love scenes were orgasmic! Juliette Jones sure knows how to pen some VERY SENSUOUS SCENES! I definitely felt them deep down in my core and LOVED every moment these two were together.
There was also a really good story-line added in that kept me glues to the pages, I just had to keep reading to find out how everything would turn out.
In the end there was a wonderful epilogue that concluded Jake’s and Sugars story in the BEST of WAY’S!

Yeah...I stayed up late after the kids went to bed to read this one.
This book starts back in his brother's book where Jake first meets Sugar and then goes on from there. It's been several months between that first dinner and when Sugar runs into him again. Sugar is running from someone nasty, and Jake steps up to protect her. Sugar is a virgin, and Jake's been celibate for years, but he has no problem remembering how to use a bed...a desk...a wall..a bathtub... On top of Sugar running from a nasty, there's trying to figure out who framed him and a crazy girl that needs to get a hint. Lots of his brother Alexander and new wife Lila. Beautiful epilogue.

I was graciously gifted an ARC of Jake and was very appreciative too:) I have read other work by this author and have enjoyed them immensely!!!!!
Jake was the brother of a former character and I loved him back then and loved him now. He was such a complex man but underneath his former playboy exterior he craved a "real" relationship deep down. He was so enamored and so envious of his brother's relationship that he found himself on the road to finding "the one" for him albeit a long and difficult road, once he set his mind there was no going back!
Jake and Sugar were a great pair. They both had their own set of issues, albeit Sugar's minor compared to jake but it was great watching them grow into their own all the while discovering their "one" true love.
Now, why not 5 Stars, well for me, I wanted a bit "more". If you are looking for a fast, sweet, low on angst and drama read then look no further, this is your book. As much as I love those types of book I feel that this author has the talent to have brought it even "further" for lack of a better word. I wasn't crazy on how some of the scenarios and storyline played and that's just my own personal feelings. Again, I wanted "more" from her on those minor issues but all in all a very good read. Will I read more by this author, heck yes, she has such talent and such potential to grow even more in the future...at least that's my opinion, lol.

The whole way through I felt like I was reading a full on modern fairy tale. Rich guy, poor girl, he sweeps her off her feet, he takes care of her... she takes care of him right back! It just worked and of course, there's a terrific HEA.
It's hot, sexy and lovely with a decent plot that has some good twists. Plus you can never go wrong when the main man is Jake Wolfe - the perfect dirty talker as well as being the perfect gentleman.
So if you're looking to chill with an angst-free, happy, beautifully hot romance, look no further!!

Jake Wolfe; was sex on a stick. He was protective, super hot and every girl's fantasy. He worked hard to get where he was at by helping his bother run his business and moving up. Jake finds himself in a complicated situation where someone was framing him and he was in trouble with the law. Jake's brother was supportive and they had a really great relationship. His dark past hunted him though and his nightmares seemed to never go away. He gave up on love a long time ago.
Jake and Sugar meet at her restaurant and it was an instant mutual feeling. They both tried to fight it but it was inevitable. Jake tried to reach out to Sugar later and he found himself protecting her from her creepy step-father. After that he seem to take his feelings for her to the next level until he wins her heart.
This story was quick and sweet. I liked it however; there was several things that I would have preferred and it left me a little bit uneasy. I somehow felt a bit cheated; I guess I assumed there would be more sexiness and in fact there wasn't. I did however enjoyed it when it eventually happen and I will not complain about it. Readers looking for a quick, sweet read will really enjoy this book.

Juliette came to me and asked me if I was interested in reading and reviewing Jake. After reading the synopsis I was all for checking it out, after all it looked like it was right up my alley. This is my first book by Juliette and I am glad that I read it for sure.
Jake is a fast paced book. There is alot that happens within these pages, but it kept me reading from start to finish without a doubt.
Jake has a dark past and criminal background. After working his tail off to turn his life around he decides to change his ways and even stops being a manwhore and has been celibate for over 3 years. All that changes though when he accompanies his brother and his fiancee to dinner one night and the woman who serves up his apple pie to him catches his attention. She looks like an angel, but more than that he discovers a hint of a bruise on her face as well.
Sugar has lived her life baking. She has been doing it since she was 5 years old. She has no time for relationships and does not believe in true love after watching what her mother has gone through. She puts all her time into running her restaurant and never does anything outside of that.
When Jake walks into her restaurant she feels drawn to him as he is to her and her looks, but she knows nothing can come of it, after all she does not believe in true love remember. So she goes on about her night and tries to forget about the hot attractive man.
Juliette gives us a great story with these two. They get thrown together through circumstances and we get to see how protective, yet sweet, loving, and caring Jake truly can be under all his darkness. For Jake it is insta love but for Sugar it is not because she does not believe in it. So Jake is going to have to show her.
Although this was a jammed packed story with alot going on I read through it in one day. It kept my attention and kept me interested in the story for sure. At times I thought it was a little rushed and I had wished there might have been a little more detail in certain area's but overall it was a great read. I definitely will read more by this author in the future.

I really liked this in the beginning but as the story went on and they actually got together, I was starting to like it less and less..
I liked both the hero and the heroine, but then the hero was starting to bore me a bit, lost his edge completely, while the heroine turned into such a ridiculous character, she just amused me.
The thing is, the blurb and all that didn't make me believe this was going to be in the ridiculous womans' fantasy category. Let me explain what I mean about that..the heroine is a 23-year-old virgin. Yup. The type of virgin that you can sometimes find in romancelandia, who barely feels any stirring unless it's the hero. Which fine, I could maybe get over because of the type of book it was. But then when she's about to have her first orgasm, she asks what's happening to her...Come on. Really, come on. I'm sorry, but that's just crazy as fuck, and not in a good way.
After that disappointment, the book turned into something different for me. It started with the heroine thinking at some point "my juicy pussy", which to me, was amazing. I was actually laughing out loud. Loved it. And anyway, it continues with the heroine

I have been waiting on Jake Wolfe for quite some times. And wow did he suck me in from the start. But that's what Juliette Jones does...she gets you hooked from the first chapter and doesn't let go for entire ride. This is a story of insta-love, especially on Jake's part, and who could blame him? Sugar is her own woman, brave enough to leave her Grandmother behind in Georgia to open her own restaurant in New York City. She's strong, an incredibly talented baker, and an all-around sweet Southern belle. But even the toughest of women need a little help sometimes. And who wouldn't want to fall into the arms of Jake Wolfe.
I loved that we got the POV of both Jake and Sugar. And I enjoyed being inside the mind of a bad boy like Jake. Underneath it all, he's a sweetheart. Sometimes it just takes the right lady to bring it out. I fell totally in love with him. He's definitely a book boyfriend to snuggle up with. And I wasn't 100% sure that he could top his brother Alexander. But I think he might have done it. How about I just take both?
There is nothing more that I could ask from a story. Bottom line: read this now. You won't be disappointed.

He's been a playboy in the past, with so many women obsessed with him that yes, one is also blackmailing him (insert eyeroll)- but he's still been celibate for past 3-4 years looking for a soulmate.
Sugar was her parents' little girl, until her dad died and her mother remarries multiple times. Her recent stepdad Butch comes on to her twice- while escaping the second time she reruns into Butch and they start their instant love filled courtship.
I liked the premise but the execution was meh. Average chemistry with OTT love confessions.
Both have their own demons to fight, and the love making scenes are good- until the end where we finally get a batter scene (hence extra half star)

Oh Jake *sigh* how I have longed to read your story and I am so excited to have finally done it. Jake Wolfe, 27 years old, has a dark and tortured soul, only to see the light when he meets Sugar Malone. She serves him a slice of her heavenly warm apple pie and he's a goner. And Sugar, well she can't believe this gorgeous man, who is beautiful inside and out, wants her. They both have their fair share of drama in their lives and it will take lots of trust in this newfound relationship for Sugar to believe it can work out between them.
This is a fantastic insta-love story! I don't mind the insta-love because the story line is fabulous! I did have an issue with the "Camille" part of the story line. It started out intense and left me wondering if they were ever going to be able to get rid of her but then insta-fast, she was out.
This author knows how to write blazing HOT erotic scenes. I think my favorite thing about the writing style of Juliette Jones is her endings. Brilliant! I adore the longer than normal look into these characters' futures. I am excited to see what's next for this very talented author.
Oh Jake *sigh* how I have longed to read your story and I am so excited to have finally done it. Jake Wolfe, 27 years old, has a dark and tortured soul, only to see the light when he meets Sugar Malone. She serves him a slice of her heavenly warm apple pie and he's a goner. And Sugar, well she can't believe this gorgeous man, who is beautiful inside and out, wants her. They both have their fair share of drama in their lives and it will take lots of trust in this newfound relationship for Sugar to believe it can work out between them.
This is a fantastic insta-love story! I don't mind the insta-love because the story line is fabulous! I did have an issue with the "Camille" part of the story line. It started out intense and left me wondering if they were ever going to be able to get rid of her but then insta-fast, she was out.

This book was nothing above average for me. There isn't a lot of depth, nothing that made butterflies in my stomach or me excited about what's going to happen next. If anything, I was hoping its pace speeds up.
I felt like the writing was very clinical ... Written very unemotionally if that makes sense? Even the sex scenes weren't hot. I didn't feel any emotions during this book between any characters.
But it is safe, and an easy book to read if that's what you're looking for.
