It was just supposed to be an interview. Getting the inside scoop on the country's hottest billionaire. He invited me to his estate and I fell for him, hard. And then I met his brother. He's dark, dangerous and oh so bad. Nothing like the billionaire. But one night changed everything and I found myself in over my head. How did I end up tangled in this dark obsession? Disappointing to say the least. This chick Camille is basically trying to decide between twins. The guys Samuel and Adrien aren’t developed well and neither is the plot. The narrator did the best she could with the story but this one wasn’t written in a way to keep me interested.

This is a first for me by this author. Roxy Sinclair has an intriguing well written story of obsession and a tinge of jealousy between twin brothers. Camilla the heroine of the story finds herself drawn into the lives of the men who catch her up in their lives as she does her best to interview Samuel.

I did like the storyline and how the author balances the personalities of the brothers. This was a very interesting story and I am somewhat interested in the second in the series and wondering how Camilla and Samuel's relationship evolves. I think my only drawback was with the male character voices. The voices were not the best and sounded a little pushed and boring. Amber Bray did a nice job at narrating the other areas of the story very well.

Overall a nice short listen.

I spent most of the book rolling my eyes since the heroine, Camilla, was just too stupid to live. And to the fact that Samuel's family dynamics was just over the top. How do people in the public eye go through life with no one knowing they have siblings. I mean no one!?!

So when his twin was pretending to be him and behaving badly, how did that get explained away? I guess if you suspend belief you can buy into some elements of this story, but for me it was a big fat no.

This was a great start to the Dark Obsession series! Camilla falls for Samuel, but ends up with Adrian, his twin. Things are going great until they become obsessive and dark and they just continue to get darker. I wasn’t a big fan of Camilla honestly because she continues to give Adrian multiple chances to change his ways/ become a better person, more than anyone should. The story and characters were well developed and I liked Camilla’s mother and her concern and protectiveness for her daughter. I also liked Adrian and Samuel’s younger sister and how she connected with Camilla. I really enjoyed how different Adrian and Samuel are once the truth is revealed and you can’t help but feel for Samuel and how bad he’s had it/ had to endure because of him. This book was filled with angst, fear, jealousy, romance, and suspense and left me needing book two to see what happens next!
Amber did a great job with this narration! She managed to bring the angst, emotions, and tension to life and kept me in suspense the whole time.

A CLIFF-HANGER THAT MAKES YOU WANT TO KEEP GOING

This story is the beginning of a trilogy with a cliff-hanger. I normally don’t like cliffhanger, but because I got the set, I can deal. Samuel and Adrian are twins that Camilla meets during a blog interview that she has with Samuel. Adrian pretends to be Samuel but is outed as Samuel catches him. Camilla isn’t sure why Samuel seems to hate his identical twin and she goes out with Adrian only to find out that he is not the man she would ever want to be with. Adrian’s behavior is well written and thought out. His obsession and true character come to full light at the end of this book.

This wasnt my favorite book. This is a new author to me and her writing was fine... there were times I felt like there was too much description but overall the writing was good. I liked Camille. I think she was a little weak at first. Adrian was obviously a poor choice but she kept going out with him and I don’t understand that. He was a jerk.
This book had angst and jealousy. And a character drawn to two men. It was an entertaining story.

The narration was fine. Again not my favorite. I didn’t like her male voice but her narration of Camille and the rest of the story was good.

This book packs a powerful punch of edge of your seat intensity. I was very quickly pulled into the engaging story and invested in the compelling characters. The well written storyline is jampacked with drama, suspense, angst and an ever encroaching shadow of danger. This is only book one of Camilla and Samuel’s story, so prepare for a cliffhanger. Eagerly awaiting book two! This is my impartial, independent review.

Buried Obsession by Roxy Sinclair a five-star read that will surprise you. This is the first novel in the Dark Obsessions trilogy and what a bang to start the trilogy off with. This one will suck you in from page one, and won’t let up until the last, there is so much going on but its all well done and keeps you hooked. Your heart will be in your mouth for most of this story and the cliff-hanger will leave your mouth hanging open, be ready for number two as you won’t want to wait!!

This is a dark romance thriller with the darkness due more to suspense and dangerous situations more than a dark, erotic, sexuality. There are definitely steamy and edgy scenes, but that's not the main focus.

I usually like the author’s books, and while this isn’t bad, it just didn’t do it for me. The plot’s appealing, but the storylines stumble over contradictions and plot holes.

I felt a little uncomfortable about Camila hopping from one brother to the other. She isn’t being sleazy or doing anything inappropriate. It's just a little icky and makes her look like a gold digger (which she clearly isn't).

I love Camila’s relationship with her mother. Her character isn't an addict or a "b**ch” or crazy. It's so nice to see a regular mom who is supportive and caring.

Okay ..

I don't know what to think of this book. It's stated that this is a dark genre book but to be honest, I don't see the dark. There are darker elements yes, but that's it. I have read darker. Very much darker so I am a bit disappointed. In a couple of things in this book actually.
First : Has this book been edited? There is an entire chapter that is double in the book. There is that chapter and then the next is exactly the same, it just continues longer.
Then in another chapter again, but just a few lines (not an entire chapter this time) is also double written. But it was just on those two occasions. It should not have been there but that it can be overlooked.

It's a slow paced story, it seems. But bit by bit things start to turn bad. But, like I already wrote just now, it's not dark. Don't get me wrong, I would not want it to happen with me or anyone else but they're not dark.

The book ends in a cliffhanger and luckily a bit darker but still not like I excpected. I was in the mood for a good dark romance and honestly, I am disappointed it's not. I was doubting between this book and another dark romance and I regret choosing this book. But all things considered, I am however curious how things will progress further in the story. It's not a bad book, it just could do a lot better. But I will give it a chance and read the second book in the trilogy.

This story is about twin brothers, Samuel Kane who is a wealthy businessman and returns home to care for his younger siblings. Adrien is a man who does not take responsibility for his actions and is unstable. Camila is given a great assignment to interview and take pictures of Samuel for her job at a blog - Humans of New York. Camila can not believe that when her eyes see Samuel she takes a picture before he is even aware as he is one sexy and gorgeous man. Samuel is very private and Camila can not believe all the good material she’ll have for her article and at the end Samuel even ask for her phone number for a date! Samuel sends a car to pick Camila up for coffee at his family home and things getting very interesting once Adrien pretends to be Samuel. Camila is surprised with Samuel’s behavior and ends up making a date with Adrien and Samuel is shocked and hurt but tries to do the right thing by warning Camila. Adrien is the bad boy and things get to the point where Camila finally sees that Samuel was telling the truth. Camila ends things with Adrien and starts a new relationship with Samuel but Camila is in danger as Adrien will not give her up! I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.

Roxy Sinclaire writes a highly intriguing story of obsession and jealousy with this first book in her Dark Obsession series. Camilla has done an interview with a high profile businessman. Little does she know how this interview will change her life! Caught up in their lives, it's a fast paced story including a family dynamic, a high powered obsession and a woman caught up in the middle. Sinclaire always gives a great story line, and I especially enjoyed this one. The balance between brothers is so interesting and how she has the story play out only left me wanting more! I can't wait to get book two and see how Samuel and Camilla's relationship evolves!

Narrated by Amber Bray, the story flows so easily, I became lost in it. She has a very good variety of voices and gives the story that edginess necessary to give it a little evil, but leaves it passionate. She is in the heads of the characters, so you feel their emotions, uneasiness and infatuation. It's a good performance and I enjoyed it.

From USA Today bestselling author Roxy Sinclaire comes a dark trilogy.

Camilla is everything I want, but she doesn’t know the real me. All she knows is what she’s heard and read in the tabloids. If I can’t make her see the truth, there’s no telling what will happen.

I want Camilla all to myself, but my reputation as a womanizer has done its work...but it’s not my reputation. It’s my brother’s that she has to be worried about. Adrien is charming on the outside, but when he gets comfortable, people get hurt. Women get hurt.

But I have to let Camilla find that out for herself, no matter how much it hurts to watch her with him. All I can do is be here for her when she discovers the truth, and hope that it doesn’t take too long for her to see him for who he really is.

Buried Obsession is the first book in the Obsession trilogy. The story of Camilla and Samuel continues in Tangled Obsession.

What I loved about this book is that Camilla is a fighter and she refuses to accept anything other than the right man for herself. She was dedicated and I loved her resilience.

A 5 ⭐️ Beginning to the Dark Obsessions Series

A really gripping start to the Dark Obsession trilogy. Roxy Sinclaire has her Mojo back with this new series! I had to read it in one sitting. Great storyline that has everything a reader wants, stalking, harassment, intrigue, very suspenseful with oh so much more! I can certainly highly recommend this book as a must read. I cannot wait to read Tangled the next book in the trilogy.
Camila works as a photographer for a blog Humans of New York and is interviewing Samuel Kane a billionaire. Camila is drawn to him from the get go! Why does her Controlling mum warn her against the philandering Samuel? She also has problems with her ex Jordan Nelson who keeps calling after their break up months ago! But her stubborn naivety causes her bigger problems as she doesn’t handle Samuel or Jordan very well? She now has two stalkers due to her stubbornness and is living in fear!

Wow, what an intriguing first book in the dark romance trilogy.

Heads up this is a trilogy, so this book does end in a cliffhanger.

This is a very interesting read and I am quite taken with these wonderful characters. Camila interviews Samuel for an article she's writing and in the process discovers he has an identical twin brother, Adrien. Adrien takes an interest in Camila right away and asks her out, despite being warned off by Samuel, she accepts the date. Adrien turns out not to be a great guy and when Samuel drives Camila home after her last failed attempt with Adrien she sees that Samuel was the good one all along. She ends up going out the Samuel and Adrien gets very upset by this. Grab this book today to get started on this dark romance journey and hang on for a pulse pounding thrill ride!!!

Excellent start to a new series

This is an excellent start to a new series about romance and love vs obsession. Camila meets Samuel as an interviewee for the news blog she writes for and he invites her to coffee. She learns before their coffee date that he has a reputation for being a womanizer but goes anyway as she is intrigued by him. At the date she meets his twin brother Adrien whom nobody knows about and he charms her just as much as Samuel shows a jerk side she never saw before. When Adrien asks her to a future dinner she agrees because she thinks he is the good twin. Thus starts all the drama and intrigue. Who is the bad twin here? One can give her love and one will become dangerously obsessed, The question is which is which.

I thought the storyline for this was great, something about the description drew me to it, intriguing me and interesting me. This had the potential to be a fantastic enthralling, suspenseful, gripping dark read. Unfortunately however I felt let down. It was a bit of a slow start, and I hoped for a great build-up and gripping finale. I also felt I couldn't connect with the characters. I thought it was greatly let down by the quality of the writing. I just didn't "feel it" for want of a better description. It felt one dimensional and emotionless. I also didn't find it particularly dark. I am new to this author, so don't really know if that is her usual writing style.
I am however intrigued enough to want to see this trilogy to the end, the storyline was interesting enough for me to want to see how it pans out.Hoping that the writing gets better in the follow up books.

This was a good start to the trilogy. There were things I liked, as well as things I didn't. Overall, I would rate this as 3.5 stars. I liked that Camilla and Brianna (the brothers' sister) were able to get close. I also liked Samuel's relationship with his sister. However, I did feel the story was kinda slow moving. I also didn't like how Samuel just stood by while his brother, Adrian, threatened Camilla. Samuel told her he'd take care of Adrian, but the reader never sees any confrontation between the two. This led me to believe he really didn't do anything about it. The story dies and in quite the cliffhanger so I will be starting the next book immediately to see what happens.

Camilla is to interview Samuel Kane for work and is tricked by his twin when she first arrives. She is attracted to both brothers however its Adrien that asks her to dinner. They have a great dinner but afterwards things turn awkward and all she wants to do is get home. She tries to avoid Adrien but it seems like he is everywhere she goes. When she turns to Samuel for hep things heat up between them. He helps her get a restraining order against Adrien, They start seeing each other and he introduces her to his younger sister. Will they be able to get things with his brother under control?

This is a great story but it ends in a cliffhanger. The chemistry between them is blazing hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend it to any book lover.

“All that glitters is not gold” and to Camila an opportunity turned into a nightmare, a dangerous one that she didn’t know how to deal with it. Looks like in the love department luck was not on her side and she didn’t have learned yet. Liked how Camila’s mother support her and helped to clarify doubts. Intrigued with the Kanes that seems they have a stormy background and who knows all the darkness they could be hiding. Suspense, romance, heated passion and a dose of mystery and danger that kept me interested all the time. The cliffhanger left me running after the next book. This the first in the trilogy so, there is a lot of suspense to come. Liked this interesting book that I enjoyed and left me intrigued and thinking.

Buried Obsession by Roxy Sinclaire is one of those stay-up-all-night-and-read-just-one-more page books and will stay with you long after you've finished. It's one of those books that is not what you expect... it's better.

I expected the typical romance story, but what I got was an outstanding read of suspense, drama, angst, jealousy, revenge, fear, guilt, twists you don't see coming and will have you on the edge of your seat, and a cliffhanger ending that will have you cursing the author for having to wait for the next book to come out.

WOW!!!! I was on the edge of my chair with my head almost glued to the screen of my iPad, this is intense. I also think that it is a realistic look at how we ignore the flags and how we sometime wrongly judge a book by its cover, figuratively and literally. Very well written dark romance, even with the cliffhanger, the author was generous enough to ease that hold your breath until the next book comes out feeling....lol. I don't read a whole lot of dark romance, this is the best one I have ever read. This is so well written that it's actually made me rethink my tenacity to shy away from this darker edge to the romance genre. I couldn't put it down. I am voluntarily reviewing a free copy.

Photographer and interviewer Camila Blake goes to handsome billionaire Samuel Kane's home for a coffee date, which is where she meets his twin brother Adrien. When Samuel steps away to take a phone call, the charming Adrien asks Camila on a date and she happily accepts. Camila is furious when Samuel and her ex Jordan warn her about Adrien but what happens when Camila ignores all the red flags Adrien gives off and starts dating him? Note: this story ends on a cliffhanger.

Buried Obsession is an intriguing, drama-filled and suspenseful story that will keep you on the edge of your seat. I can't wait to read Tangled Obsession, Book 2 of the Dark Obsession series.

Skimmed to the end and it's a cliff hanger

I read the first half.
The prologue made me think it was a vampire book.
I've had it for a while so i don't actually remember what convinced me to get this book, beyond that it was free that day.
It was very drab. The writing was choppy and pretty boring.
I kept waiting for something interesting to happen.
But it's a boring female living with her mother, dating every man she comes in contact with. One of the men is stalking her after she broke up with him to date his brother that he lives with.
Nothing says independence like being an adult living with your immediate family!

Reading this was just like watching an accident- you can't look away and you know bad things are gonna happen. Camila was so naive and hard headed I could have throat punched her- hard! Signs were there from the start ie: Adrien pretending to be Sam on their first meeting. She definitely was not the brightest crayon in the box. Lol. She was overly cautious with Sam and not cautious enough with Adrien! Can't wait for book two to see how dark Adrien goes in his pursuit of Camila. I love the dark and await the savior of the light- aka Sam.

This is a very well written story of a nice length. It has a great storyline and plot. The characters are likeable and well described. They develop nicely through the story. A story that flows well of the pages and keeps the reader on the edge.
It caught me from start to finish.
A couple that has to deal with different problems. He is rumoured to be a womanizer and his reputation is not one of the best. She interviewed a man that was all different. A romantic, suspenseful and fast paced story. It has a cliffhanger and I look forward to reading the next part.

This is book 1 of a series and so it ends on a cliffhanger, wanted to get that out there as I know some readers hate cliffhangers! The story has a good plot and there are some strong likeable characters, the main female character, Camilla, doesn’t appear to be the smartest character ever written! There are a few twists and turns that kept me on my toes as well as some guilt, revenge, suspense and romance that made the book so enjoyable and promises an exciting book 2.
