Almost missed this on Prime reading today (!!!) which is simply unacceptable after waiting to get my hands on this for almost two years now, I think. It did not help in the least that the cover of the edition on GR was way different from the cover on Kindle. >:/

Now about the book, I was a tiny bit worried about being let down but this book of M.V. Kasi is on par with The Singham Bloodlines which she co-wrote with P.G. Van a while back.
I've tried a couple of other works by the author since but they weren't it for me, thus the reason for my initial skepticism.

You have to give this one a chance if you're craving for a Bollywood spin on your typical CEO romance.
--Vikram & Vishal Sahoo are the heirs of a multi-million dollar empire in London. While Vikram is the stoic and serious older brother, Vishal is the charming playboy who balances their pair. However they're forced to put their fast lives on a standstill when their beloved grandfather's wish somehow leads them back to a small village back in India, and even disguised as an accountant and a driver. Neither does it help them in the least that the granddaughters of the man whom they have to confront have them smitten like love sick fools.--

Dear author, if you're reading this, please give us some more books of the same kind 🤧

Another great romance by MV Kasi but this time with the added bonus of being a double lovely story between 2 sisters and 2 brothers. A real page turner

I never thought there are Indian authors who can write such captivating story. I understand some portions are like typical Indian bollywood story but the author brought out the flavor of variety in it while you read it. The rich business men kids who are so into their own world put a pause to their lives for their grand father and adapt their life style in a small Indian village. Innocence and politics of village people, their affection, anger are so well potrayed in this. Liked both the heroines who play their role really well. Sangeeta accepting her fate and sacrifices her life serving people and Banu - the little innocent fire cracker. Smooth romance blooming among first couple is very well narrated. Even the second couple who are a bomb between themselves. Oh i loved it.

'The Promise' is the first book by M V. Kasi I have read and really liked it. Billionaire's Vikaram and Vishal, strong and powerful business men took up a minor job in a village to help their grandfather reconcile with his long lost friend.
I loved the way the story of romance weaved it way parallel along, of love between Virkram and Sangeeta the village doctor, which was sweet and gentle and the fierce love between Vishal and Bhanu, a vivacious, stubborn and playful girl. The story moved seamlessly between the events and the passion was real.
Each and every character in the story had its place and took the story forward beautifully.
Looking forward to reading more from this author.

Two billionaire brothers. A promise. A charade. And falling in love...
Heirs of Sahoo group London bred and educated; putting on a pretence by working as an accountant and a driver for the modest Gulati family in India.
Why?
What will happen when the Gulati sisters know about this charade? Will love perpetuate??

A cute and short slow paced romance novel based in village.
The characters are meticulously crafted, each layer of their personalities unfolding with precision.
Its narrative was generously sprinkled with surprises, making the reading experience thoroughly captivating and unpredictable.

Easy and simple.

Tropes:
Billionaire romance
Billionaire brothers
Charade

This was a short and sweet romance. Though I was more interested in Vikram & Sangeeta's relationship, the angst that grew in between Bhanu & Vishal had gotten intense. But their reconciliation and the discussion of marriage felt so abrupt especially because it was only talked about in the epilogue. The relationship development between Sangeeta & Vikram could've been handled a bit better too. So while this was a good book to pass my time, it wasn't very deep or emotional. It was a 2.75 star read for me

I wanted to read this book since last year, but after reading the prologue, I was conflicted because I obviously don't want to read about a psychopath lover. But it turns out the prologue was misleading, and there is nothing to worry about. Vikram and Sangeeta were my favorite couple, and other than them, I love Senior Saaho Couple 🤍✨️. I just love the mature and quiet understanding and mutual adoration relationship of Vikram and Geeta.

Speaking about the plot, it was unique and very intriguing. I love how it's from unnecessary drama and toxicity. Definitely recommended !!!!!

Nice HEA

Kinda of an under handed way to get to elderly friends back together after their feud using one's grandsons.

They find romance but there are some struggles

The characters are each different and unique. I really liked them all because of this. The plot was great and kept me interested throughout because there was always some interaction with characters.

I really recommend this book.

Wonderful story

A simple yet wonderfully written story. The plot moves smoothly and the characters are well developed. In this multi starrer type story, every character has their part in driving the story. Enjoyed it thoroughly!

I really enjoyed this book. It is a fun read with just enough tension that kept me hooked. I really liked all of the characters even the "brat" Bhanu. It is a tail about friendship, love, hurt and ultimately forgiveness.

VIKRAM and SANGEETA
VISHAL and BHANU

This book!... it’s like watching an old Bollywood movie, and I really liked it!

Vikram and Vishal Saaho are at the top of their lives. Vikram is a ruthless businessman, reaching newer heights every day. He has no time for anything else, no empathy towards anyone and Vishal is a playboy who works hard, but plays even harder. Feelings and commitment are not something these boys understand.

Due to a tragic and horrible past of lost love and hard choices, ego and stubbornness, their grandfather lost his best friend and now its too late to make amends the normal way.
But a heart attack, shakes up their grandfather, and he realizes what matters in life. He needs to make right what he did wrong all those years ago.

Vikram and Vishal, give up their cushy life, their jet setting business, the lavish comforts of their lives, to fulfill their grandfathers wish, which is to re-unite with his childhood friends who stays in a village.

They cannot go as themselves due to all the bad blood, so unfortunately they use subterfuge and go as the driver and accountant to the village to convince Surya Prakash Gulati to see Vishwanath Saaho.
Little did they realize the depth of hatred he has for their grandfather, and how difficult it would be to win his heart. They definitely did not expect things to get more complicated when they begin to fall for the Gulati sisters.

I loved how both the couples are complete opposite to each other. Vikram and Sangeeta are the sweet and gentle couple finding romantic moments in the stolen glances, the romantic walks, in just taking care of each other and their friendship.
Vishal and Bhanu are explosive, steamy, and wild, falling in lust, fighting their love, before finally giving in, constantly arguing, flirty banter and sassiness.

Its really interesting to see how the boys have to actively control their impulses to take over and shout orders, just throw money at things to make them happen. Their character development, as they realize the value of others and patience and love is beautiful to read!

Vikram is drawn to Sangeeta’s quiet yet friendly demeanor. He sees her hard work that almost rivals his own sense or work and that drives him to take care of her and fall in love.

“Vikram was more or less devouring Sangeeta Gulati with his eyes, making it obvious that he wanted her and was badly smitten by her.“

Vishal is stunned by Bhanu who doesn’t care about him at all, and shuns him all the time. He is frustrated and very attracted to the fire in Bhanu which he would love to out to good use!

“But something about the way Bhanu was always filled with passion whenever she was angry or happy pulled him towards her. And it hurt his ego that the object of his attraction barely acknowledged his presence.”

The relationship between the brothers and the sisters is just perfect. Like I said, it’s like a movie, with multiple characters and each driving the story in a certain way.

Although I wished more of Vikram and Sangeeta and less of Bhanu. Shes a lot annoying, and too silly. And the end bit didn’t really make sense to me. You will know what I’m talking about when you read the book... So go read!

I just loved it! It’s filled with family drama, emotions, subterfuge, friendships, love, hurt and forgiveness.
Its wholesome. Most definitely recommended!
