Staying Inn for Valentine's

Rate this book
In a small town called True Love, anything is possible.

Penelope Galbraith is set to take over her parents' business, Inn True Love. She has huge plans to expand the property. The town's tourist business is booming, and they often have to turn people away at the inn - like Devon. But when he disses the town she loves, she offers him a place to stay for the night with one condition: He has to stick around for one day and let her show him around to prove how great True Love is.

Devon Nichol leaves his small hometown the first chance he gets. Nothing's keeping him there anymore, and he's sure he's inherited his mother's wandering spirit. So he makes a plan to land wherever he runs out of gas. Before that happens, he stops for the night in True Love, a town tinier than the one he grew up in. All he wants to do is get back on the road, but something about Penelope's charm intrigues him and he honors the deal.

When one day turns into another, will Devon see how special True Love is - especially with Penelope at his side?

Penelope and her parents owned the True Love Inn in True Love, AZ. The town was famous for being a place where someone could come and find their true love. Her parents were retiring and she was taking over the running of the inn. Nelly, as he friends called her, wasn't so sure she would ever find love. She was content with her life but there was something, or someone, missing. When Devon stopped at the inn for a room and the inn was full, she offered to have him stay at her place for the night. That's what kind people did and Penelope was always kind. When one day turned into two, she began to wonder if Devon might stay in True Love forever. He was adamant that he just couldn't do that, but he had never had a reason to stay anywhere before. Maybe Penny and this town could be the reason.

Devon was a wanderer. He was off on another adventure because he and his mother were so alike. They couldn't stay in one place too long. He was ready to begin his life and he was going to drive until he ran out of gas and settle there for a little while, wherever that might be. He had inherited that wanderlust gene from his mother. She had left the family when he was 18 and had only come back for short visits. When he stopped in True Love, AZ, little did he know that maybe his wandering days were over.

I was given an arc copy of this book and I willingly offer my review. This story was a clean romance with no bad language or sex. It was a sweet story about a fictional town in Arizona where people were kind and helpful to one another and where true love could be found.

I'd totally watch this as a Hallmark movie. A town called True Love where the town myth is that everyone finds their true love? Oh yeah, it was just as adorable as you might imagine. I've been on a romance novel kick, but didn't want something that was "steamy." This fit what was looking for. Devon refuses to be stuck in a small town, which is exactly where he finds himself when he rolls into the adorable town of True Love. Penelope loves True Love and gets Devon to agree to see her town for a place to stay. This book was a great first book to the series because as Devon gets introduced to True Love, AZ, so do we as readers. 10 out 10 would move to this town. And the ending is just swoon worthy.

A fun read for Valentine's Day. Love is in the air in True Love AZ. Penelope Galbraith is involved with running the Inn True Love with her parents and she has high hopes for expanding the operation when she is fully in charge. In the meantime she has a wedding to participate in as the maid of honor for her friend Julia, the bone of contention is that Julia wants Penelope to have a date for the ceremony and Penelope not happy with a blind date as there is no one she is interested dating in town at this point. Devon Nichol, after the death of his father, decides to just take off and drive until he runs out of gas before he settles down and he's running from small town life and looking forward to something different. Devon winds up at a gas station in True Love and while he hasn't run out gas, he is tired and looks for a place to stay the night. Turns out the Inn True Love is booked, but Penelope invites the good looking stranger to stay at her place, out of kindness. Penelope is definitely a small town girl and tries to make Devon see the good side of small town life, especially in True Love. Circumstances keep Devon in town and seeing Penelope. The town seems to be growing on Devon but the problem he still believes that there's more out there for him just not true love because of his family situation. Devon and Penelope grow closer and as things come to a head, Devon starts to find out that what he believed was not really true. This was a lovely story with a HEA and a good Valentine's Day read.

This was such a cute story that I absolutely enjoyed! True Love is a such a great little town that I would love to visit if it really existed. The folks there are great.

This is a sweet romance written as a multi pov with a HEA. Loved Devon and Penelope. It was easy to grow an attachment to both of these characters. Penny is such a sweetheart. She wants to find love so much, but feels that she doesn't have time for it. Devon has itchy feet and feels like he needs to be on the move, but there is just something about Penny and True Love that he just can't get over.

This book packs a lot in such a small amount of time. This was a quick read that I could not put down. Enjoyed every page of it.

Awesome characters, great description to details, engaging dialogue and fantastic story line. All in all a great read. I hope to read more concerning the town of True Love.

This was so sweet! I want to move to True Love. All these characters just warmed my heart. And Devon and Penelope are cute and adorable! If getting stuck in a town like this is in my cards, I will never leave. I knew there had to be more to the story behind Devon's mom and I am glad they were able to get that straightened out so he could be with Penny. I only wish there was an epilogue to know a little of they turned out and what their future is like. Hopefully we get glimpses of them in the next books. I am so excited to get more books from True Love!

Devon Nichol was going to use his inheritance from his father to wander and see the world like his mother did when got stuck in True Love and met Penelope Gailbraith. Penelope has gone on many first dates, but she’s never gotten past that. She hasn’t met anyone that she could be herself with until Devon. But he told her he’s just in True Love temporarily. And she’ll be taking over her parents’ inn so she has no desire to wander like he does. Devon starts to see the positives in being in a small town and staying in one place with a girl who he might be falling for. This clean Hallmark movie like romance had plenty of sweet and funny moments.

Rating: 2/5⭐️
Spice: 0/5 🧼

Summary: Penelope is poised to take over the family inn and is focused on that and not finding the true love her town seems to bring everyone else. Then, Devon stumbles into town when trying to figure out his own life. Soon, they find themselves not wanting to be apart but not wanting to admit it.

Thoughts: This was a cute enough story but it felt long despite it only being 200 pages. It’s got all the vibes but it just felt like nothing is really happening.

I enjoyed the characters and the small town setting but the conversations were so awkward and the conflict was so weak, it really made me cringe.

Penelope loved her town, True Love, Az. Devon couldn't wait to get out of his. Driving until he ran out of gas was his plan. He pulled into Penelope's life and almost instantly wanted out. He then realized that, through her, he had found a home and he wasn't going to give that up. This was such a sweet romance and great characters. You get to see how small towns operate and how the people in the small towns help each other out.

Penny lives in True Love a small town were everyone is supposed to find true love but she had yet to find it herself. When a man asks if there's a room at her families inn she offers him a room as there is none. Devon believes that he has a wondering soul and when his father dies he has the money to leave his little town and follow his heart. Touching story of two who don't really believe that they will find the love they need without hurting the other. A Sweet romance that creeps up on them without them knowing it happening.

true love in True Love

While reading, at first I didn’t know what to expect. I loved their dynamic and their story progressing, but at the start I was sure this book would only receive a 4/5 stars. I thought it was going to be missing the one thing that keeps me hooked. However, this book blew me away. It had me reading past my bedtime and genuinely not wanting to put it down. This book made my heart hurt and happy all at the same time. It’s true what they say, “you can find your soulmate in True Love”

Penelope Galbraith is taking over her parents' business, Inn True Love where Devon Nichol comes to get a room. Devon has a lot of things in his past that he has to work through one of them are things he believes about his Mother. A well written story of a man that has to let go of the past to get a happy ending. A story I enjoyed reading I will be looking for the next story in this series. This is one of the few books which have an old world charm combined with modern day trends. It's a beautifully written book that I have thoroughly enjoyed reading. Devon & Penelope make a fantastic pair. Penelope's love for her town and her parents Inn is apparent in every action and word.

Beautiful, heart warming, uncomplicated and sweet. It was a refreshing book.

The name of the town is True Love and she wants to enlarge the business as she sometimes have to turn people away. He ran from his small town as soon as he could and he goes where he wants when he wants. He lands there in her home town. He turns his nose up at the small town. So she challenges him to try it for one day. Will she prove him wrong? See if she will

Clean, cozy book

This book was OK. I liked the general idea of the story. The characters were interesting enough. I felt there were a few slow moments when info was repeated too often. Also, the idea of the town's name and street names to match was cute. When the store names followed suit, I just didn't like that so much. The writing was decent with very few typos. It was a clean romance with a happy ending. If you enjoy those, you might enjoy this book.

This book did not get boring!
I didn't like Devon at first, but as things progressed I could see where he was coming from.
Penelope was just sweet. I would love to be like her.
I enjoyed this book a lot! Humor, romance, learning to let yourself be you.
I received this as an advanced copy, and this is my honest review.

Staying Inn for Valentine's is a heartwarming small town romance. I felt like Penelope and Devon could be my friends. The longer Devon stayed in True Love, the less sure he was that he needed to leave. Penelope loved her town and was delighted to show it off. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in True Love.

A love Story with humorous twists

A young man trying to follow what he thinks his life is meant to be. A young lady who loves every part of her life except dating. I could relate to her qualms about first dates. I loved the setting a small town I wouldn’t mind stumbling across and running out of gas.

A good clean romance. Devon believes he can't live in any small town so when he makes a stop in the town True Love, he doesn't plan on stays and may say some bad things about the town to the wrong person, Penelope. She wants to prove him wrong and show him around the town. So, the attraction begins and not between him and the town.

Such a fun book

I loved this whimsical book set in True Love Az. It had so many twists and turns that speak to the heart of new relationships. The town was full of great supporting characters. That really played an important part in this small town love story. I do recommend this book. It was a cute fun read.

This is a super sweet, small-town romance. I love all the characters, especially Devon. He is just adorable, but all the townsfolk are very likable. I also really liked how the story unfolded. He keeps trying to leave, but fate keeps stepping in to keep him there. All in all, this is just a really enjoyable read. I will definitely want to read more by this author.

Got aggravated right from the beginning. The town of True Love and the Inn are known for bringing love to people. Penelope's friends were rather annoying with their matchmaking. Devon did not even know his mind and thought that he wanted to travel. Lots of chemistry between them. The cast of characters was fun except for her well-meaning but irritating friends.

"He was living in the moment..."

"He was living in the moment, and the moment with Penelope was beautiful. So he’d keep it that way."

It's rare when you find a Valentine's story with an Arizona setting. Rarer still if it involves snow, in Arizona!
"Adorable and cute" story for a rare realistic "insta-love" trope.

Cute story! True Love is an interesting town where the citizens are like family. I love how all the characters are looking for good in everyone. They quickly welcome a new friend. Sparks fly, and the relationship between "Penny" and Devon is easy. I can't wait to read the others in the series!

Runs out of gas and runs into love

Eliza has written a good wholesome clean romance. The characters become your best friend, cute and adorable. Sometimes we need to get the whole story to make good opinions. Loved where he ran out of gas. Laughed.

Cute romance set around Valentine's Day. The idea of a guy find "true love" in a town by the same name is fun. The residents have certainly gone with the name. It's a case of insta-love and childhood trauma coming in conflict. Sweet resolution, if a little fast.
