Finding love in a divisive world has come down to the luck of the draw.

At 25, Graham is an alpha werewolf that’s just come of age and that means one thing—it’s time to settle down. However, with so many omegas to choose from, an alpha is stuck hoping he picks the right name from a number of potential mates. The CEO of Roll Over needs a submissive lover, one that will support him in his business ventures.

Parker is Graham’s omega life-long friend. Upon reaching puberty he, like all other omegas, was rounded up and tossed into an omega safe zone. When he’s dragged to a mate choosing ceremony, Parker never considers the alpha waiting for him on the other side of the curtain might be the alpha he’s been dreaming of.

When the two are finally reunited, sparks fly—and not just romantic ones. Coming from two very different lifestyles, will Graham and Parker rise to the challenge of a real relationship? Or will they come undone after so many years apart?

Pick of the Litter is a gay mpreg shifter romance novel. It is intended for adults only and guarantees a happily ever after ending for the main characters.

Nope....

Well, what started off well went slowly down hill. In the end, I basically skimmed oh so quickly. The characters/world were not well developed. At times I felt that information was missing and sometimes contradicted itself.

I picked this book to read for a challenge, but I had a hard time getting into it. Graham is an alpha billionaire who one his 25th birthday has to take a mate. Parker and and Graham has been in love with each other since they were kids. Parker was taken away because he is an omega and put into a prison for omegas. I couldn't really get into this book I didn't warm up to neither one of these characters. This was my first time reading this author. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling.

This is a very unusual take on omegaverse MM romance--the author definitely took a chance with this approach to mpreg, and I think he succeeded. Imagine the stereotypical alpha "strong" omega "weak" tropes and turn them up to eleven, and then frame them within a codified social structure... that's what we're presented with in this book. It's dystopian, yes, but not to the extent that you feel sick to your stomach (thankfully, since this is ROMANCE people and I'm not looking for that!). The closest we get to that feeling was the , and while that was assuredly horrifying, I'm glad that kind of reality never made it on stage.

All in all I'd say that I did like this book (I was certainly driven to find out what happens) but I don't think I'd want to read more books like this. I prefer my omegaverse stories to be a little more fluffy and non-threatening--sue me!

Making things equal

A story of the inequalities between alphas and omegas. Graham and Parker have been friends since they were small children. They kept in touch even through distance and separation. Soon they were mated and Graham wanted to make things between alpha and omegas' relationships. The story was fairly interested but felt things could have changed or be different sooner if only Parker would have told Graham directly what occurred at the omega camp.

Great story. I enjoyed and I recommend it.

In a world where omegas are locked up to protect them from the sexual urges of the alphas, childhood friends Graham and Parker get married. It was what they both wanted, what they both dreamed of, but didn't think they would ever have. And, now that they are together again, their lives are not as they thought. Neither one is as the other believed. Can their love survive their differences, and changes in society?

I loved Graham initially. Then, not so much anymore, because he didn't listen. But he learned to do it, to put himself in Parker's place, to see that everything he had believed wasn't perfect.

I loved Parker a lot more. He knew what it was like to suffer, he didn't want that for anyone else. It hurt him that Graham didn't understand, that he couldn't see how things really were. But he didn't listen either, he couldn't see the truth in front of him.

I love their romance, how they rediscover themselves, how they change to be better people (more Graham than Parker), to be worthy of each other.

I love Scott. He also suffered, blaming himself for not being able to help Parker. He wants no one else to suffer like his little brother.

I don't like the society they live in, but I think it's very realistic.

I love that the book is not only a romance, I love the secondary story (or is the principal story?). They also fight to change their world. They want to liberate the omegas. They should be free, like the alphas and the betas. They should have the same rights, the same opportunities. They shouldn't be caged.

Graham is an alpha werewolf who’s just come of age. At 25, he’s expected to settle down and start a family. There are so many omegas to choose from and he hopes that he chooses the right one. He has his heart set on one particular omega but they come from two different worlds.

Parker is Graham’s childhood friend. They grew up together as best friends. Once Parker hit puberty he was taken like all omegas are at that age to an omega safe zone. When he’s dragged to a mating ceremony the last alpha he expects to see is the alpha of his dreams...Graham.

When Graham picks Parker’s name from the drawing for a mate they are both elated. Parker struggles to readjust to life outside the compound he was held in. A lot has changed since he was taken. Graham is hoping that he and Parker can pick up where they left off. He needs Parker by his side. As CEO of a new company Roll Over, Parker’s support is imperative.

Sparks fly between the two. The sparks are not always good. They both have strong ideals about the roles of omegas and it’s the cause of a lot of friction between. However, even with the friction their love for each other is evident.

I had a hard time with this book at first. The idealism about the roles of omegas was just so oppressive and quite frankly disturbing. I’d read books before where omegas weren’t held in high esteem but the way they’re treating in this book was astounding. Despite all that overall I did enjoy the story and the love story of Graham and Parker.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced copy of this book.

Absolutely loved this book, read it straight through as much as I could. The writing was amazing, especially since it was dealing with a subject that can put people off. Werewolf society has surpassed humans. Yet they are backwords in the area of Alpha, Beta and Omegas. Omega are treated like breeding machines, and they need protecting from everything including alphas, To do this they are taken in their teens and put away with other omegas until they are chosen by an alpha. Graham is an alpha and losing his best friend Parker to this has made life hard. On his 25th birthday he is to chose an omega from thosed bused to him, and a name out of a hat. NO love, no connection, no nothing. Everything changes when he picks Parker's name. By chance or luck they have found each other. Parker is confused, he loves Graham but he is the CEO of a group that pushes this treatment of Omegas. With Parker's will and his love he needs Graham to understand. The laws have to change, the treatment of omegas is horrible in the camps. All should be treated equal. I don't want to give away anything but this book was well written and amazing. The ending was great.

This story follows a alpha and an omega who become bestfriend when really young and keep in touch by mail over the years after parker was sent away to a place the keep omegas until it's time for them to find a mate. Graham is about to become of age to pick an omega to mate with and cant imagine any omega ever meeting up to the standards he holds. He knows no omega will ever mean to him what parker does but he knows it's not his choice. Meanwhile Graham starts a company in Hope's to make things better for both the omega and alpha society but will it really benefit omegas?Things turn out different than both could ever even expect the moment Graham pulls an omegas name from a hat that will reveal is future mate and it doesn't end up being a bad thing. Will Graham ever get to see parker again and will the omega he chooses end up being the omega of his dreams? I guess you'll just have to read and find out! I really enjoyed this one. it was sweet, steamy and fun all at the same time! I was engaged from start to finish and finished it in one sitting!

I loved this story it was a bit political but it’s good and it’s the story of Graham and Parker. Graham is an alpha he’s the CEO of Roll Over and it’s a company to help omega’s and omega children there is a bit of controversy with the company there were picketers outside everyday saying that omega have rights too. Now Graham believed that omega’s should be at home pregnant with pups they shouldn’t be allowed to work it was their alpha’s job to provide and protect. Parker was in a camp for omega’s it was like jail, he and Graham knew each other since they were pups they wrote letters to each other but it was illegal so they had to say that they were cousins. It was time for Graham to pick his mate there were omega’s standing in front of him like cattle he had to pick a name out of the hat and the one he picked will be his mate, Graham couldn’t believe his luck he called Parker’s name out. That’s all I’m going to give you guys but there is so much more to keep you entertained and turning the pages, a fantastic story and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

Parkers in an sanctuary for omegas to keep him safe. But in reality its a prison. Beaten, shocked so you know your place. Waiting an Alpha to pick you from the rest. Graham new company "Roll Over " is supposed to make thing better for Alphas and omegas. But with a pack alpha like Jennard professing omegas as weak and simple and in need of a big strong alpha, Graham seems to let Jennard influence him. When Graham mates with Parker, Graham gets to here from Parker about his own wants. Parker does try to make Graham understand, but he seems to waver in his convictions. Parkers character doesnt tell his mate or the the people of RISE what exactly what happens at the camps. Why? There doesnt seem to be much of a connection to his brother until later in the book, when all hell breaks loose. What happened to Jennards mates? Does anyone care? I liked the idea of the book, but there needs to be a bit more to the characters. A solid 3 stars. Waiting for the sequel to answer questions of Parkers brother and Jennards family.

This was a good read with likeable characters. Found it slow in places. I liked the ending. 4*.

This is my first Liam Kingsley book and I liked it. Told from alternating first person POV, there is a lot going on here and it went pretty fast. The two MC'S, Graham and Parker, are solid guys, even if Graham is a sloppy businessman. His desk sounds like mine. Lol.

The world is a bit bleak due to the laws about Omegas and the hurt/ comfort storyline revolves around the fight for omega rights. For a deep subject, the author manages to bring some humor and likeable Alphas to the story which keeps it from sounding like a textbook. It could have easily gone that way.

Their journey to make social change is what drives everything. I really liked both MC'S because they sounded real, they both have flaws. I feel like this is a cross between romantic suspense and suspense because it is the partnership, not the love story, that takes center stage. I loved the HEA and will definitely read more of the author's titles.

IN a dystopian society where laws were made to limit conflict between alphas over their omega paramours, the laws go really wrong in their long term execution. Omegas functionally are imprisoned from puberty age until they are bred, and then used as sire animals.

Graham and Parker were childhood friends, and had kept in touch pretending to be distant cousins.

But even Graham is ill informed about the misery of the conditions the omegas lived in.

And really, what alphas would be happy with a herd of randomly chosen mates, except for those who were a little off in the first place? really, those laws of random draws for mates killed not only romance, but mate bonds.

They can all work together for a different, better future for their own offspring, and help to educate omegas like Parker who never got to finish their schooling.

But they must persevere, trust, and survive to do it.

A painful journey of love and world changing.

Well this is the second book about old fashioned horrible treatment of Omegas. In this book it was even more terrible and pervasive. Omega Rights are a laughable concept despite a small dedicated group of Alphas and Omegas determined to be vocal out in front protesting organizations that perpetuated concepts of the dominance of Alphas and forced submission of Omegas.

Lies of omission can be just as detrimental as bold-faced lies. These lies are consciously stated in order to mislead another person. Once the lies become known there is sometimes and irreparable rift between the two people. How can you trust that person if you cannot believe what they tell you. What must you do to win his trust again?

I enjoy when an author is able to take an unlikeable or at best semi-likeable character and as the reader progresses through the book the character undergoes a change for the better. Until by the end of the story the reader is very happy with the transformation of this particular Main character.

Graham and Parker grew up together as friends until Parker went into heat and was taken away to an Omega Preserve. Years later - through fate as neither had a choice - the two ate reunited. Their happiness is sidelined when Parker slowly reveals the reality of the preserve and has Graham questioning tradition and the role of his new company. After many ups and downs and twists, love prevails and gives Graham the strength and determination to fight for change.
This is an interesting story about an outdated, hurtful tradition and standing up for what is right. This is also a great story of friends reunited and the love that will hold them together and change the world. There are some really great characters, it is full of emotions, conflict, struggles, intense passion, and so much more that leads to their HEA.

The story itself had a decent flow, but I'm not sure I really got drawn into the story like I was expecting. I felt so sorry for Parker (and the other omegas) through the story. To be locked up and treated like they couldn't take care of themselves all because they can produce children is tragic. I did like seeing how Graham's attitudes slowly change through the story, as he begins to realize exactly how those omegas (and especially his omega) has been treated. Just because Parker and Graham have a past connection their new romance is complicated by the time they have spent apart and the attitudes society has forced on them. I do wish we saw a bit more of some of the secondary characters. The story almost felt a bit off because we only really see through Parker and Graham's perspectives. I would have liked to see some other alpha/omega pairs and how they interacted.

This was a thoroughly enjoyable book. It was quite the journey we went on with Parker and Graham. They are from two different places coming together. Graham a Alpha and Parker an Omega have grown and lived differently for the past 8 to 10 years. Knowing each other since childhood.
They have managed to keep in touch despite their situations. The journey we go on with this is one that needs to seen to the end, because no matter how sometimes you feel frustrated or annoyed it is important to stay. See this is how I felt during reading I got annoyed so bad at one stage and wondered should I continue. But I had faith in the author, because Liam is always spot on with his books. Glad I believed because it was very worth it in the end.
So enjoy this book, but if you find yourself in the same place I did fear not the author will walk you back to it.

A shifter omegaverse MM romance, where the focus is less on the shifter but the power dynamic within a society containing omegas, betas, and alpha. Omegas are seen as in need of protection with limited intellect rules by their hormones so their rights are limited but at the same time for some alphas, this gives them the permission to abuse those they claim to protect.
Our central characters are Graham an alpha and Parker an omega who are friends from childhood but are separated when Parker comes into sexual maturity and is sent to a 'protective' omega camp who come together at an omega auction as husbands.
Their story is the background to the changes required to make this a world where all are valued.
The chapters alternate between the two protagonists so you get to see their frustration at one not seeing the perspectives of the other.
I enjoyed that this was not just a sex-driven story but had a strong story which could be translated to our current world.

Alpha Graham has reached the point he can take a mate but his friend Parker is all he can think about.
When his Pack Alpha wished him Happy Twenty-Fifth Birthday and asked him if he was excited he could now choose a mate Graham realized the only omega he could think about was his friend Parker who he had last seen being taken away to the omega safe zone called Talewah. When he is asked to pick a name out of the bowl of possible mates he is shocked to pick Parker. Parker was taken to the omega safe zone his education stopped and at seventeen they gave him an electric shock to show him what could await him unless he behaved. The only thing that kept him sane was the letters from his friend Graham then he is chosen as his mate. A MM MPreg romance to relax and enjoy.

Awesome story-telling, great world-building and a beautiful love story. Creating a better world for your children and working for equality can be challenging. Awesome story-telling, lots of personal growth and learning to love with your whole being. Childhood friends find adulthood challenging and the road to happy ever after filled with challenges. Great world-building with lots of cultural issues that create the basis for turmoil and growth. A/O mpreg world where there is no equality. Omega's are treated horribly and Alpha's need lots of awareness and to have their values assessed.

Graham and Parker have friendship and steamy chemistry that that will warm your heart and have you cheering for them. Maybe changing the world is possible.

Parker was taken to an Omega camp when he was a child to be taught how to serve his future Alpha mate. The Omega camps were run by alphas who beat them into submission. When they were of age a group of them were taken to an Alfa to be picked as a mate, mostly for breading purposes. The rest were sent back to camp, ready for the next round up.
Graham was being groomed to take over from Jenard, as pack leader, sometime in the distant future. He also ran a company that he thought was making life better for Omegas.
Parker was one of the Omegas that were bought to be picked by Graham, little did he realise that he’s Alpha pack leader, Jenard, would be worse than the camp Alphas

Graham and Parker had loved each other since they were kids, despite Parker's forced imprisonment and the forbidden nature of their relationship. Graham and Parker got lucky when Graham picked Parker's name when it was time to choose his mate. From the beginning Parker tried to get Graham to understand that omegas were treated horribly and they deserved equal rights. It took something drastic to occur before Graham finally admitted he was wrong. I loved how when Graham came to his senses he rewarded those that helped him along the right path.

when fate steps in and you pick the mate you've been in love with since you've been a child, you think it would bee smooth sailiing right? not really.. his pack Alpha is crazy and the Omega group Rise is trying to picket his business. His omega mate just got out of the safety zone that he is now finding out was really nothing more than a prison camp.. his whole view on life is turning up side down..
this is a great Alpha /Omega romance with tons of action, emotion and plenty of steam.

Pick Of The Litterby Liam Kingsley is a mpreg shifter romance. Graham and Parker are fantastic characters that you fall in love with, they have the love but have grown up so differently. That they really need to work together to get their HEA. The story is entertaining.. grabs your attention and keeps it. Very satisfying read.

This is a good story, but I didn’t like the world created in the book. Omegas is considered at the bottom, they are sendt to omega camp to be «protected». Insted the omegas is tortured, beaten, controlled and abused. When a alpha is 25 years and ready to be mated, some omegas are chosen and transported so the alpha can chose a mate. Parker and Graham has some issues to work trough and Graham realise how bad the omegas are treated that he wants to make a change.

Parker and Graham grew up together until Parker had his first heat. Then he was brought to the omega safe zone, which was anything but safe. Graham drew Parker's name in his mating ceremony. They had problems between them. Graham was working at making the laws equal for the omegas. Parker and Graham live a happy life with their twin omega sons.

Good story. I loved the characters of Graham and Parker. Their love is hampered by differences of opinion, societal expectations and discrimination. I liked the way Graham was willing to listen and alter his perception on the treatment and rights of omegas. Can love bring this alpha and omega together to make a better world for all?
