Against all odds, Brad is alive, and surviving. Through the snow, the biting winds, the rain of bullets, and the thin ice, he forges onward, and fights to recover everything he’s lost…
Having made powerful and unhinged enemies, moving unnoticed is becoming more and more difficult, but after finding a small, but enthralling clue, he realizes he may be close to Anna and Sammy’s trail.
As Brad descends further into the madness of the new world, he clings onto hope of finding his loved ones, but a reunion with someone closer to home might be on the cards…
This is the fourth book in the Enter Darkness series.
( Format : Audiobook ) "The weak don't deserve them." This series has been so enjoyable in large part because of the often unexpected character reactions. But this episode, though continuing the trend, now seems to be focusing more on the crazies. Not that this is an unlikely happenstance after months of post apocalyptic madness. However, the reintroduction of more moderate survivors would be nice. Still plenty of action, of creative thought processes (and of reflection by Brad on what has happened over the course of the previous three books) and self justification as Brad, now reunited with the father who first built the prepper cabin, continues the search for Anna and the children. Andrew B.Wehrlen again performs his excellent narration.
I was fortunate in being freely gifted a complimentary copy of Thin Ice by the rights holder, after I had requested it via Audiobook Boom. Thank you. It remains a most compulsive serialised story, the individual episodes fairly short and quickly read, the whole area now seeking to be spiralling out of control. The unexpected cliff hanger at the end of this book weightlessness that I will be waiting for book 5 when it appears. Recommended for all post apocalyptic readers, but remember to read it in order.
First, I have to start off by stating that I got this book free of charge in exchange for a review, but as I always state, this does not in any way impact my review. My reviews are always honest and my own.
The narration was pretty good, and I had no trouble distinguishing between the different characters. The delivery was smooth and well paced.
The great story, however, it was way too short.
This was a short book but a bit of a let down from the previous ones. I was looking forward to Anne being gone since I think she is a toxic waste of time. The entire first chapter was Brad thinking about and missing Anne! There was a lot of reminiscing through the book of previous events, I guess with the thought that we could not remember the first 3 books. Lee had potential as a character since he casts such a long shadow over Brad's life, but he was a very one-dimensional nut who at the end was very dangerous. We also ended up with Anne again and then I had to put up with being in agreement with Lee about her as a liability (though not his action). I made it this far and am curious what happens next, but I hope for better in the next book.

This is the fourth installment of this series. So so much is happening in here. We see Brad doing so much walking and endangering his life over and over doing the right things. Not knowing who to trust is becoming a obvious trait. I am glad he had Remington to be with and share time with in here. He is in an endless quest looking for Annie, Sam and Martha. They are his driving surviving force.
Another wonderfully entertaining book in this series. It’s full of action, drama and suspense and emotion. It captivates me while listening to Andrew B Wehrlen tell the tale of Brad.
I am pleased I picked up this series and gave it a chance.
Now his dad is back and obviously not right in the head, and Anna has come back yet AGAIN!! this story has now gotten rubbish I've spent ages just flicking through the pages, hoping against hope that I would get to an 'interesting' part but nop I got more and more rubbish , such a shame as I was really enjoying these at first now I was reading for morbid interest
I really liked the first few books in this series, but I felt this one was rushed. Some of the plot seems flimsy and the characters are kind of thrown together. I wish there was a little more character development and a little less introspection in Brads character. I hope the next book in this series, even if it takes longer to release, is a little more deep.
One minute Brad is killing people and the next he’s agonizing over people dying. He’s the strangest lead character I’ve run across in a while. He goes from hero to wuss from chapter to chapter. Very inconsistent. The lead woman, Anna, makes even less sense.
Holy Cow that ending was something. Note: this is not a stand alone. You need to start at the beginning to truly follow. That threw me for a minute because I’d read the previous books a while ago. I’m glad I stuck with it. This story was a bit out there. A lot of twists and turns, but god ones. Made the story more engaging. So ready to see what happens next....
This picks up from book 3 After finding clues in the house brad is determined To find his family A great addition to the series with a ending I dident see coming Andrews narration is always on point highly recommend this series I received a free review audiobook and voluntarily left this review
Only complaint is this is such a short book! Lee is crazy as a loon. Brad is continuing to become an amazing character. Hopefully ‘The Family’ has been destroyed and will not rise back up. Starting book 5 tonight.
As always Andrew does an absolutely amazing job narrating!
I was voluntarily provided this review copy at no charge by the author, publisher and or narrator.
,I can't believe the way this left us hanging , such a good series . I'm on pins and needles waiting for the next one to come out . I love how I can't put it down. Keeps you hooked for sure.
Fourth novel in a five-part post-apocalyptic series that takes place in the near future. More run-ins with rival crazies. A level below the first three books. (Like the previous volume, this one has too many typos.)
Audible:I love this series!Brad is searching for his missing 'family'.He finds the other family and his horror deepens. Andrew B Wehrlen waa a fine narrator. I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.'
A continuation of the story that seems to keep me wanting more, the book was very short but with enough of a story to make me want to read the next one in the series
