Two wolfs. Two secrets. One irresistible connection.

As commander of the Gray Wolf pack, Colt lives and breathes his duty to the pack. There isn't anything more important than his pack mates and his family. The Gray Wolf Pack commander saved Colt and everything he does he does to prove his loyalty to the pack that took him in.

As a born rogue wolf, Belle has never been part of a pack. She didn't choose to be an outsider but that doesn't stop the shifter world from keeping her at a distance. The one time she thought she could be part of one, things went bat shit crazy and now she's running for her life and more alone than ever.

On the outside these two are as different as night and day but Colt and Belle have more alike then they know and they find themselves opening up to each other and finding love where they least expected it.

This second book in the series was really good and I loved the angsty feel to it. It also had a star crossed lover vibe that I was eating up. I loved that Colt was such a knight in shining armor hero, he was all duty and responsibility and honor and I loved it. Belle on the other hand was super sweet and vulnerable but also strong and smart and not afraid to call Colt out when he needs it. There is some seriously flirty and sarcastic banter between these two that had the heat level always simmering.

The shifter world and politics get a bit more rounded out in this book and we get a lot more interaction with the other Gray Pack wolves too. I'm already anxious to read about Sierra and Maverick (totally shipping these two!) and Maeve and the vigilante, Rogue (more please!)

I am definitely a fan of this author and this series. The writing style has gotten stronger and the pacing is fast but the content is rich. You can see the improvement as the story progresses. Only issue I had was the way things were brushed off when it came to Belle and the consequences of that one night. I felt like there should have been more of an explanation other than the telling of facts after it happened. Something so traumatic needed a bit more closure in my opinion, for both her and Colt.

Would I recommend? This is a shifter series that is definitely worth a read. It's different and gritty but the romance theme is spot on! If you read paranormal romance and love that love always triumphs over evil, you'll like this one.

Cowboy in Wolf’s Clothing by Kait Ballenger

2nd book in the Seven Range Shifters series. Paranormal romance. Can be read as a stand-alone romance, but better read as a series so you get the full background on the Gray Wolf shifters, the dynamics of how and why the various paranormal forces are at war.
Written third party with alternating views of Belle and Colt.

Cowboys, Wolf-pack shifters, vampires, intrigue, secrets, romance, family manipulation, bits of humor, some steamy sex scenes, smart and capable females. So much to offer in the book. The hero and heroine talk and tease each other which made the dialogue entertaining.

Two small takeaways. There is a Pact that I kept thinking should have been pack, but no, it’s actually an agreement between the different shifter groups. So no spelling or edit error there, but it took me a while to figure that out. The second was the *****minor spoiler follows***** professional degree of doctor the heroine has, but when she’s killed off (on paper only!), my thoughts were on how is she now going to support herself. Totally outside the scope but that was my concern.

I liked the idea of Wolves working as Cowboys as I was very intrigued as to how the livestock would deal with these predators around them. Well we are introduced to Colt who realises that the Vampires are hunting on his Packs land. Unknown to the dangerously efficient Colt though is the fact that a Rogue female is close by and about to attempt to steal his horse ! Belle is on the run and has good reason to fear Colt but oddly doesn't. Oh yes Belle knows he is a danger to her but there's no denying their chemistry and Colt might have his own rules but Belle is just the woman to challenge every one of them !
This story had everything I expected from this author, alpha male and strong female to really throw him off balance. I loved the quirky horse that brought Colt and Belle together as it added humour. If I'm honest although there is action and danger here it wasn't a huge part of the overall plot. No that came down to Colt facing his past and embracing his future. There's a slight tease near the end of a Rogue who will surely make his appearance felt soon but for now it's all about Colt and Belle and the constant snark that clearly keeps their relationship steaming along !
This voluntary take is of a copy I requested from Netgalley and my thoughts and comments are honest and I believe fair

5 Star Cowboy Wolf
He has spent is life defending his pack, but High Commander Colt Cavanaugh has a dark secret that could destroy his life forever. A wanted woman on the run, fate brings Belle Beaumont face –to-face with the High Commander himself and suddenly more than just her freedom is at stake. For the healing Belle brings to his battle-worn heart, Cold will fight to the death and for this cowboy wolf, all’s fair in love and war…

The second book in the ‘Seven Range Shifters’ series is a rough and tough in a cowboy wolf kind of way… which means that readers get a mix of dark, broody, sexy cowboy wolf that charms as well as makes readers shiver in delight. Belle and Colt are two very strong, bold characters that have a sensually stimulating chemistry that not only draws them together but sparks lots of feisty and passionate encounters of every kind. The relationship has some obstacles and their pasts and secrets cause lots of distress and emotional turmoil allowing the readers to really get a feel for the hero and heroine.

The plot is fast paced with lots of thrilling suspense and excitement as Colt tries to convince the Seven Range Pact that they the vampires are up to something no good. Readers are kept on the edge of the seat with deadly attacks and unexpected twists that changes things as fast as a runaway train. This world is quite complex, sexy and full of unique elements that readers can really get into and this story includes an eccentric horse that makes everyone chuckle. From the fiery clashes of the hero and heroine to the riveting, intense and explosive story, this romance is one that readers can really sink their teeth into.

I liked the idea behind this story, however, the execution was lacking. I did not read the first book in this series, so maybe the explanations for missing information were in there. But even if they were, some reiteration or adding on to the world building was needed. Like why are all rogue wolves outcasts? Including those born to rogues. Why are the Grey Wolves the it pack? Why do the Grey kids have the purest blood? Why are the Wolves and Vampire’s beefing? What is mating in this world? If pregnancy can occur even if you’re not mated why wasn’t condom or birth control use a thing?

This story suffers from instalove, and in the worst way. The leads spent about 48 hours together the first go round. All of that time was spent with justifiable mistrust between them. I can understand how they ended up sleeping together. Because…hormones. But Belle expecting commitment from a man she met the day before was nuts. Then they spend about a month apart, and she returns making demands and criticizing the way Colt lives his life. And even though she spent a week on the ranch, none of that time was spent with Colt.

There was action, but there could’ve been a lot more. Like Colt’s month in Vampire captivity was skipped over. I’m no fan of torture porn, but that would’ve been the time for the reader to find out exactly what the Vampires are planning and what their endgame is. Colt’s great escape wasn’t shown but later briefly discussed. It would’ve been cool to read how resourceful and strong Colt is.

The book was short, and the basic ideas were good. So I may read the next book in the series. But it isn’t something I will be anticipating. This series seems to be filled with books you read to keep yourself busy while waiting for your fav author’s new release.

Two Wolves with Secrets and an Irresistible Chemistry…

Cowboy in Wolf’s Clothing is the riveting second installment in Kait Ballenger’s Seven Range Shifters’ series. This series revolves around the seven shifter clans that call the Montana Mountains their home. Both of the books in this series have featured an eye-catching set of awesome male abs on the cover. I can’t wait to see how Kait’s going to top these with book 3!

I confess that I’ve been a fan of Kait’s since I first discovered her in After Dark, a release she shared with Gena Showalter. Her well-written contribution to the anthology was Shadow Hunter - a page-turner that introduced her fabulous Execution Underground series. This new series is set in that same complex world populated with a variety of supernaturals. That said, if you are a newbie to Kait’s books, you are in for a treat! You’ll be happy to know that Cowboy in Wolf’s Clothing works perfectly well as a stand alone read.

As the story opens, Dr. Belle Beaumont, who had been imprisoned by the Seven Range Shifters, makes a run for freedom. As luck would have it, she encounters dark and broody High Commander Colt Cavanaugh as she escapes. She attempts to steal his quirky horse which, duh, garners Colt’s attention. When Colt is left struggling for life from injuries sustained in the ensuing fight with the rival Wild Eight’s pack, Belle puts her surgical skills to task and saves his life.

Belle knows Colt is a danger to her but she can’t walk away from the cowboy who has stolen her heart. Colt knows Belle is trouble with a capital T, but he can’t help being constantly drawn to her. On the outside, Belle and Colt seem as different as night-is-to-day. But, they actually have more in common than they know. I couldn’t get enough of the flirty and fun sass between Belle and Colt and their sex scenes were intensely hot. However, will they learn to trust each other enough to open up and share the secrets they both harbor?

Belle and Colt are great characters with a sizzling chemistry from the moment they meet. This tale is told from Colt’s and Belle’s alternating third-person perspectives – with the advantage of allowing the reader to be privy to what’s in each of their heads.

This book highlights the social stratification of wolves that are naturally a pack animal within this world. Belle was born a rogue wolf. She has always yearned for a pack with the protection and camaraderie that a well-run pack offers. Belle tried at one time to join a pack, but things didn’t work out at all as she’d planned. The rogues are never given a choice to join a pack even when they had no choice by being born that way. On the other hand, Colt lives, eats and breathes his pack. It’s everything to him. It will be interesting to see how Kait works through this conflict in future installments.

Wes Calhoun and Naomi Evans from the first book play supporting roles. It was great catching up with them and a few other characters from Cowboy Wolf Trouble.

Following please find a few of my favorite quotes from Cowboy in Wolf’s Clothing:

“We didn’t even get to say goodbye.”

“Usually women are angry because I said goodbye, not crying because I didn’t.”
---
“Who wants to be a princess when she can be a cowgirl?”

Cowboy in Wolf’s Clothing is passionate and well-paced tale with great characters. Kait hit this one out of the ballpark as all its parts added up to an engaging, sometimes humorous, highly entertaining read with plenty of unexpected twists. If you enjoy well-plotted, suspenseful paranormal romances with a simmering heat throughout, I’d highly recommend that you check out Cowboy in Wolf’s Clothing! Now, I’m drooling waiting on the next book which is coming January 2020!

Each of the books in this series will work as standalone, but have carry over with an overall story ARC concerning a threat to the Seven Range shifters way of life and relationships between characters.

Colt is on a mission that turns deadly when he stumbles onto a she-wolf trying to steal his horse.

In the chaos of a vampire attack, Belle Beaumont escapes the Grey Wolf compound only to stumble upon the High Commander. When a vampire attacks and he is wounded their story begins.

For me this story was stronger than the first, in part because I was already comfortable with the world Ballenger had set up in book one, allowing this story to focus on the characters, relationships, and some wicked battles involving Lucas and the Wild Eight.

Both Belle and Colt carry burdens. She longs to belong to a pack; he is ashamed of his past and determined to honor those who raised him. Belle is a doctor, and perfect for Colt as she can see beneath Colt’s brazen exterior. Their romance begins with deals and arrangements and ultimately tugged at my heartstrings.

Secondary characters and the pack added to this story giving it depth and allowed me to feel a part of something. I loved the interaction with the horses, who have personalities of their own. The females of Grey Wolf are head-strong and seeing them tease and torment the alphas was fun. We see more of Wes and Naomi and get developments there. The more I learn of Maverick their leader, the more I respect him.

A little something or should I say sizzle happened between the pack leader’s sister and a rogue wolf… I sensed something and I am hoping the author is dropping a hint of things to come! This review was originally posted at Caffeinated Reviewer

Colt lives for his pack.

Belle was born a rogue, who wishes that she could have a packs protection. When she is mistaken as a pack member, Belle and Colt collide in what is sure to be a chemistry intense relationship.

I found Cowboy in Wolf’s Clothing to be a someone angsty, lots of entertaining read. Flirty and fun, with some serious heat brewing just under all that honor, service and duty.

Well-paced, with lots of development for future installments. Cowboy in Wolf’s Clothing has definitely left me wanting more in the Seven Range Shifter Series.

I received this ARC copy of Cowboy in Wolf's Clothing from SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca. This is my honest and voluntary review. Cowboy in Wolf's Clothing is set for publication June 25, 2019.

I really struggled to get into this one for some reason. I liked Belle well enough, but didn't really connect with Colt as a character. There were some times where he just seemed like an empty shell of a walking talking cowboy trope, but despite his backstory I still didn't feel like I got any depth from him, and so I wasn't really engaged in their romance and found myself skimming and having to go back and pay attention to what I'd glanced over.

Cowboy in Wolf's Clothing is a great follow up to the first book in the Seven Range Shifters series by Kait Ballenger. It has all the things I look for in my paranormal romances, danger, paras of the wolfie variety, smoking chemistry between the heroine and hero and a hero who thinks he doesn't deserve love.

High Commander Colt has been living with a secret he can't afford to let his pack find out or he will have to lose his family and home, possibly is his life. This big secret is the main reason he is a "hit and quit it" lover. He doesn't believe he can have a mate because he has a dangerous job as the High Commander and because of his bloodline. He believes he is a monster.

Belle Beaumont is on the run from Colt's pack because they see her an enemy. She was part of the Wild Eight rogue pack who was the enemy in the first book, Cowboy Wolf Trouble. She's a doctor who fell into the group because she always dreamed of having a family, children and a pack. She was born a Rogue and has a chip on her shoulder about it.

Cowboy in Wolf's Clothing continues what is sure to be the series story arc with a war brewing between shifters and vampires (with the vampires being the bad guys). This is what brings Colt and Belle in contact at the being of the story. She is running and he finds a beautiful naked horse theft or so he thinks. They work through their attraction and overcome their family pasts find a HEA. Kait Ballenger does a great job balancing humor, danger, romance and emotions in her latest release. Of course, there are some threads to secondary characters and hits at some possible couples in the future. I can't wait to see who's story we will get in the next installment, Wicked Cowboy Wolf. I have an idea by the title but I'll have to wait and see when the blurb is available.

Fans of paranormal romance who enjoy sexy wolf shifters and funny animal sidekicks like a moody horse should try Cowboy in Wolf's Clothing. While you could read it as a standalone I highly recommend you start with the first book Cowboy Wolf Trouble so you get all the details on the characters and the war between the shifters and vampires.

Second book in the series with an ongoing storyline carried over from the first book, but featuring a new couple with Belle and Colt. Colt is the Commander of the Grey Wolf army and will do whatever it takes to protect the pack. But he's got a secret that keeps him set apart. Belle is a doctor and rogue wolf that longs for a family and pack. She got swept up with the outlaw Wild Eight Pack when she made a bad choice in boyfriend but was able to escape only to be captured by the Grey Wolves. But she doesn't give up on getting her freedom, and escapes only to find herself caught up between Colt and vampires. Belle's oath as a doctor doesn't let her leave an injured Colt, and their time together only increases the attraction and draw they have towards each other. Yet while these two appear to be on different sides, they have a lot more in common than either of them know. But their journey to a HEA is not an easy one with each of them being captured by the vampires at different times. Action, romance, secrets, and twists you won't see coming plus the fantastic banter between Colt and Belle will have you glued to the pages of this book. And when you're done reading it, you'll be counting the days until the next installment in the series comes out.

This book was so pointless, boring, and full of plot holes that I had to skim my way through it just to make it to the end. I didn’t hate it but I did not have a good time reading it at all. Both Belle and Colt are bad communicators and they both make stupid decisions throughout the novel. For a book that’s supposed to be about werewolf cowboys and has a vampire army threat nothing exciting or interesting really happens.

Wow! This book was action packed!! The main characters were both strong in their own way. The two of them together were like striking a match and setting off sparks. I thoroughly enjoyed watching them learning to love and trust each other. A must read.

* I received an ARC of this via NetGalley and the publisher Sourcebooks Casablanca in exchange for an honest review.*

3.5 Stars rounded up. Full Disclosure I have not read book 1 in this series but I felt like this book held its own pretty dang well. There are hints and its pretty obvious which characters book 1 is about, and honestly any info that was revealed about book one and its plot acted more like a teaser to me, really ramping up my interest enough for me to go search out book 1. That being said book 2 was more than satisfying. The world here is simple enough and bits and pieces of information are thrown in to give enough world building that I never felt lost despite not having the full world build from missing book 1. I would say the only downside of not having read the first in the series before this was when certain characters made their entrance there was almost a sigh of relief from the book, like some imaginary audience in the background had just been waiting for them to show up and I felt like I should love these characters but I didn't know why lol.

Cowboy Shifters am I right?! Its like the best of the Western Romance genre combined with the best of the Paranormal romance genre! I would say that you can't go wrong with this combo... but I've seen it happen before. Lucky for me this author does it all kinds of right! We have our Cowboy, MMC Colt, with a secret/mysterious past leading his pack but terrified of loosing it, and our Rogue shifter FMC, Belle, with a tortured loner past searching for a home and pack of her own. In this story Shifters are fighting against Vampires (the yucky evil kind not the sparkly kind.) Vampires have found some sort of scientific serum that will allow them to enslave the wolves they think, but in order to make the serum work they need a pure blood wolf shifter. I will say that the downside of this story line is that the author never really went into details about the Vampires plans and this aspect of the story was secondary to the romance plot line. I feel almost like this was done on purpose as the story continues and maybe these reveals will come later in the series? I would definitely have liked a breakdown though.

Colt stumbles across Belle during a vampire battle. Belle is on the run after being captured, she is linked with a rogue shifter gang as their Medic. Yes she is a doctor, yes she chose to heal them because she couldn't in good conscience not perform her duties as said doctor... but that doesn't make her evil like them.. does it? Colt believes it does, but he is hiding his own past that comes so close to Belle's its uncanny. Colt's biggest fear though is loosing his pack due to his past, Belle's biggest fear is never being accepted by a pack due to her past. These two take the reader on journey about letting fears go, acceptance, and love to last a lifetime.

I like how there isn't any "destined mate" going on here. Though I like that also, it was refreshing to just see people opening up old wounds and really growing close to each other without all the insta mate stuff happening. I'm thoroughly intrigued by where this series is headed and I'm already "The Rogue's" biggest fan even though we only got like 3 paragraphs about him.. Im feeling him and Maeve but I'll have to read further to see if my fantasies come to light! Enjoyable straigh forward romantic read!

This is a great follow-up to Cowboy Wolf Trouble, showing that this series will be fun to read. The trouble started immediately and spread throughout the book at the perfect pace. The drama wasn’t only from the vampires, but also from Colt and Belle themselves. Colt is the standoffish soldier and Belle, the skittish rogue with hidden mettle. They’re both dealing with their pasts and trying to move forward, thus giving them a nice depth of character. Their relationship built from instant attraction, to hot and spicy romance, to love. All this bound together with the pack camaraderie and the message that DNA isn’t the only thing that makes a family. I can’t wait for book 3 in this series.

I really enjoyed the first book in this series and so I was a little nervous about this one. However, Mrs. Ballenger hit it out of the park!!! I couldn't put it down.

Colt is man who has secrets who will do anything to protect them. These secrets have pushed him to become the best and be the best. He is incredibly loyal to his pack and will do everything in his power to protect them.

Out on patrol, he stumbles into Belle and he is instantly drawn to her. He knows he shouldn't be but after some scary situations, these two realize the are stuck with each other for awhile.

I have to admit, I LOVED the banter between these two. Belle knows he is a high commander but she doesn't really seem to care when the only she wants her freedom. Being a doctor requires her to take care of Colt when she could have been getting away but her duty is too strong.

This book has it all - danger, suspense, mystery, romance, banter and sexy times. I would highly recommend this book!

Sometimes you pick up a book and can’t motivate yourself to finish it. Then, you get some much needed down time and finally you are pulled in thoroughly and finish it in no time…. that was this book for me.

Colt and Belle intrigued me from the get-go, but every day life was too much for me to overcome and kept me from getting fully lost in the world and the characters. I sat down late last night with a day off of work ahead of me and the pages finally just kept turning. I found myself smiling and even tearing up a time or two.

Colt’s position with the Grey Wolf pack made it seem like he had all the things that Belle wanted in life, but he was harboring a secret that made him more like her than she would ever know. This is an emotional journey for all involved and there are twist and turns galore right up until the very end. I enjoyed Colt and Belle’s journey and by the time it ended I was wishing for more!

Cowboy in Wolf's Clothing has it all! Take one cantankerous wolf shifter know as Commander Casanova because one night is all you’ll get from him, add in a sassy rogue wolf shifting doctor, mix well with lies and secrets, then add in some steaming hot chemistry and you’ll have the recipe for Cowboy in Wolf's Clothing. This story is a convoluted tale of two shifters that are meant to be together getting in their own way and boy is it fun to be along for the ride. Though this is part of a series it can be read standalone.

Cowboy in Wolf's Clothing is a great sequel to Cowboy Wolf Trouble. A story of family, bonding and romance with engaging characters, a wonderful support cast and a good story. If I had anything slightly negative to say it would be the necessity of a certain word but as I might have felt it wasn’t necessary is the writer’s choice. I look forward to reading more and will recommend this book and series

“Who doesn’t love werewolves plus if they’re cowboys? Yes, so appealing! Cowboy’s in Wolf’s Clothing was like freshen air to me. I’m so used to werewolves books because I love them and this one was different in a perfect way!

A story about loyalty, family and bonding with the perfect mix of romance. You will fall in love with the characters. Supportive and kind of funny in their own style. I cannot wait to find out more about this series.

An amazing story that I highly recommend it you!”

This is the second book in the Seven Ranger Shifters series. It is about Cole, high commander of the Grey Wolf pack and Belle, a rogue shifter. Both are keeping secrets they feel will destroy them if they come out. These secrets cause them to maintain distance for a while despite their immediate and intense attraction. Cole is trying to protect his place in the Grey Wolf pack. Belle has given up her dream of being part of a pack and is just trying to get back to somewhat lonely life as a rodeo doctor. This is not an insta-love or fated mate story. It maintains a good balance of the romance and the pack’s war with their vampire enemies. It is the second book in the series and it is best to read in order. The love story is told entirely in this book so you will not be completely lost starting with this one. However, the first book gives you background and information about other characters in the book and about Cole himself. Despite the name – Cowboy Wolf … - the conflict is centered more on the romance and werewolf action. Because of this, even though cowboy romance is not a favorite trope of mine, I do recommend this book and series.

The second book in the Seven Range Shifter series was a miss for me. Sorry, but this was just such a train wreck of a book. Colt Cavanaugh and Dr. Elizabeth "Belle" Beaumont are not really a match in the conventional way. She has just escaped shifter prison and he wasn't even aware that she was there, yet she couldn't be more than a horse thief because he caught her doing so. Or did he?
He is the High Commander, and don't we forget it because it is mentioned 32 times throughout the book, (commander 131, warrior 38, cowboy 58, grey wolf 161, stetson 31, vampire 134, rogue 82 - rogue wolf, rogue house(s), the Rogue -, Wild Eight 99) and she is a rogue wolf and former member of the Wild Eight pack. There was a lot, and I mean A LOT of repetition and it was getting so tedious. Why did no one pick that up before it got published?
Belle and Colt do a lot of shifting and standing in snow naked, yet there is no shivering or other signs of being cold and while there is attention to Belle's nakedness I had to re-read a few times to figure out if Colt was naked or at least was wearing pants. After spending a day in a rogue house, Belle exits the house in clothes and boots yet she feels the "lingering Montana winter". "As she stepped outside, the cold wind hit her hard, chilling her to the bone." {pg. 52}
The vampires find Colt and Belle by smell, this time they aren't fooled by the horse. I was wondering more than one time (and don't get me wrong, I hate when animals die in movies or books) why the vampires do not kill the horses that seem to roam around in the woods, with or without saddles? They had killed farm animals before.
I know it all sounds like nit picking, but it rubbed me the wrong way while reading and I thought that the vampires started to turn into a side show, just to give the growly wolves a reason to growl and order their women around. That is another point of discontentment. The way the pack wolves treat the she-wolves seems so archaic. It coincides with my no communication pet peeve. I get it, Colt has a secret that he has sworn to keep until his last breath and since Belle was a former member of the Wild Eight, she has no reason to be forthcoming with any info about herself, but it really annoys me when this information could have solved the issue between the hero and heroine about a 100 pages earlier, so I guess it is there to stretch the story just that little bit longer.
Throughout the first two books there is a lot of threads to get killed, be killed, kill, or die of injuries, yet we know from the previous book the packmaster Maverick is way more lenient and forgiving, even though his brutal and ruthless reputation precedes him. He is revered and feared by his fellow wolves. So much so that they aren't seeking his council and defy him and the rules. There are the packs included in the Seven Range Pact, various shifters that decide as one in case of a war. There is the illegitimate pack of the Wild Eight, disbanded with the last few members in hiding and there are the rogue shifters, some under the protection of the Rogue but others like Belle on their own, forced to do what they have to to survive. I was rolling my eyes every time the men "assumed" what Belle's motivations are instead of just asking her (biggest offender of course Colt). She has to prove her innocence as she is presumed guilty.
The sex scenes stopped me in my track. He steps between her legs and takes her pants off? How? He gets his hand in her pants to play with her clit without undoing the button and zipper? What kind of baggy jeans is she wearing??? And why does Colt think he doesn't deserve her, yet he behaves like an asshole and offers her one night only? Not sure why he dislikes to be called Commander Casanova.
Never have I ever anticipated an ending of a book more. On to the third one, the one book I really wanted to read out of those three. Hope it is as good as I remember the excerpt I have read years ago.

I loved Colt and Belle's story! Belle was able to stand up to Colt and give him a run for his money. Colt came off as hardened and frosty, but I loved how all that went out of the window with her. The plot moved at a good pace and I enjoyed the steamier aspects of the book.

I am a big fan of books with a strong, independent female character. This book gave it to me. Belle not only escapes from prison, but when it looks like she's caught, she doesn't back down from Colt. I love the sass she gives him.

I am reading the series in order, but I don't think you have to. I enjoyed this book more than the first one. I can't wait to see what book 3 holds.

"Cowboy in Wolf's Clothing" is book two in the "Seven Range Shifters" series by Kait Ballenger. Colt and Belle have a one night stand between them. They both didn't think they would see each other again, but Belle is running for her life and runs into Colt again. With Belle being there, Colt seems to find himself helping Belle with some of the things that keep happening to her. Colt doesn't plan on settling down any time soon, and Belle is trying to get away again because she has feelings for Colt. This was a great story, and I am enjoying this series about wolves. Belle was my favorite character in this book, and I like how Colt comes around. My favorite scene is when Colt reads the letter, and that is when he realizes that he really does have feelings.

My book friends recommended this book for our reading challenge. I did read book one. Unfortunately, this book was not for me. I'm not ruling out trying other books in this series by this author.
