DEADLY EXPOSURE Overall the plot was good.Alexis had taken a fall once and being shunned by people now and it was still costing her, even though she was innocent. When her friend Rachel a senator is kidnapped. Rachel brother Bradley home on leave. Wanting now to find her, even to giving up their inheritance. On the other side he wanted to keep Alexis safe, and clear her name. Continues on in the next book DEADLY. SECRETS Emma was in the wrong place, when she went to ask the senator a question. Running and she heard shots, now trying to lay low. With thinking she can do something herself, and others are trying to keep her save. The tension is high and so is the body count. Mint has fallen hard for this woman and doing his best to keep her safe. Continues on in the next book. DEAD,Y. AGENDA Megan use tools of the trade and got inside the FBI Daniel’s apartment. Had he stolen a sonic weapon, was he also the blackmailer they have been looking for. She wanted to bring him in by herself, and Aaron insisting to team up. With shot coming at them, they climbed into her car. Looking into her duffle bag he spots the badge, was she retired, active, he sent a picture to his boss. Replying to bring her in. Who was she really, his boss Hank greets her like a lost daughter. DEADLY. HOLIDAYS Rachel wants an end to this, she now knows who the blackmailer is, he took everything from her. She uses herself as bait, mowing they need concrete evidence To many FBI agents have been killed. Christmas is coming..Good connection of using the different members in Double Down, in each story so you knew the team. Plot of generic weapons, murder, and love. Good series and good characters that work together to bring closure
Deadly Exposure **** I Really Liked It Even though I have already read this first book in the series, it has been awhile. I had forgotten enough of the details that the suspense was still good for this second reading of the book. I had also forgotten the ending... I'm glad this is the complete series in one volume so that I can dive right on into book 2.
Deadly Secrets **** I Really Liked It Book 2/ part 2 is everything a great Romantic Suspense is expected to be... a thrilling page-turner. Mint and Emma are fantastic characters to take the lead in this portion of the underlying story in this intense series. The chemistry between Mint and Emma reminded me of the romances between many of the couples in this author's Sanctuary WitSec Town series which I also thoroughly enjoyed.
Deadly Agenda **** I Really Liked It This series just keeps getting better and better. The suspense is ramping up and so is the pace of this complex underlying mission that the FBI and the Double Down team are on. The interaction between the lead characters, Adrian and Megan, is very entertaining. I was delighted by the "appearance" of this author's character, Remy, from her Sanctuary series even if it is a minor role. (I'd really love to read a book just dedicated to telling Remy's story someday).
Deadly Holidays **** I Really Liked It Ahhhh, a very satisfying conclusion to this Romantic Suspense series after more high-stakes, fast-paced, perilous pursuit of a very dangerous enemy, this time with characters Steve and Rachel mainly in the hot seats.
I did not realize when I started reading this book that each book would not stand alone. It was just one great, long, story. By the time I finally finished the last book, I was really ready to have it finished. I would have been happier with fewer unnecessary deaths especially of the innocents. There were a couple of places where the timeline did not seem to be consistent. The first time Emma and Mint go to the bank occurs several chapters away from that very same event appears in a much later chapter, and the chronology seems off. I will look for other books by this author.
It was very hard to put this book series down. I was totally captivated by the story. My only criticism would be the spiritual aspect seem as if it was added to make the series "religious". I am a believe and the "believers" in the story didn't seem like they really had much of a personal relationship with Jesus. However, the drama of the plots kept me reading. I'm almost sad to have reached the end. I would recommend this series because it's a good read.
I am so glad this set was on sale, all 4 books are in the set & I purchased it. (you need to read them in order because you have to read them that way to get the whole story) When I started I was so aghast at the story I could not stop reading. It is so unbelievable what Ms. Phillips puts into this story. Yes, lots of betrayal, death, romance & an ending I did not guess. I so loved it!!!!! Ms. Phillips is an exceptional mystery author.
I wasn’t expecting to be as drawn into this series as I was! I liked the characters and was not able to guess all of the plot twists, which is always nice! The dialogue was somewhat confusing in parts, and there were still some editing missed, but the overall reading experience was enjoyable and well worth the price of the series! I would recommend it to any clean romantic suspense fans!
Oh my, I struggled to get through these 4 stories because of the body count. I have read and enjoyed other books by this author and don't recall any of them being like these. I would read for awhile, then put it aside because somebody ELSE was killed. (I was tempted to reread just to count the number of dead people!) Plot was okay and most of the characters are likable. No foul language.
Buckle your seatbelt because you're in for a fast-paced, heart-pumping, adrenaline-rush-of-a-book(s), not to mention complicated characters, and unexpected twists and turns throughout the series. Then, of course, there's romance thrown in as well. These books are a must-read but be warned. Once you pick them up, they're hard to put down!
I loved reading this series! What a great writer she is! Started this and finished a few days later, couldn’t hardly put it down. Always wanting to see what was gonna happen next. This was a mystery, romance and God themed Novak. Would highly recommend reading!!
I had a hard time putting this series down. It was action packed from the get go! I loved how the characters developed and changed but never lost their true selves. You’re going to love getting to know each one of them, but make sure you have enough time to read it all because it’s just too good to stop in the middle.
This was not the usual mystery romance. I couldn't put an of it down till completely finished. I have no nails left and ate way too many calories because I was so drawn in to the drama. I highly recommend this author .
This series has wonderful characters and great suspense. You have to read all four books to get the finished story and some of them are long and complex. It is a very good series. Four stars.
Exciting suspenseful, and Ms Phillip delivers the goods in the romance department and understands the power of prayer. Hard to put it down even if you have work to do!
I had read the first in this series several years ago. After finishing the next three books in the series, I hated for it to end. I loved the characters, flaws and all. The suspense kept me turning the pages late into the night. I highly recommend this series by Lisa Phillips.
This is a five star. I could not put it down even at minight. Thednight
Suspense was so compelling. I also liked that the characters found their faith in Jesus to talk about. It wasn't in your face but it was a part of the book. Loved it
Lisa is definitely the queen of thrillers. Between her plots, her scenes and her characters I have hardly had this series out of my hands for the last three days. A true master novelist.
Multiple story lines had interacting Complications for the characters. With so many unanswered questions and story lines it was difficult to put the book down. Unrealistic plot
I have read several of her series. I have loved all of them. She is amazing at the twists and turns, which makes it more of a challenge to figure out who the antagonist is. Thank you, Lisa, for amazing books. I love that you tell the whole story.
This series was filled with non stop action. I think l liked Rachel’s story best. Her story starts in the first book (Megan’s story) but doesn’t get resolved till the last book.
Enjoyable clean romance fast pace mystery. The hooks make it difficult to put down. Recommend to any one who likes strong females and alpha male characters.
