Her investigation could prove fatal…

By secretly investigating the New York City K-9 Command Unit chief’s murder, reporter Rachelle Clark puts a bull’s-eye on her back. Single dad and K-9 unit officer Carter Jameson thought Rachelle was reporting on police-field-dog trials—not his brother’s death. Intrepid NYC reporter Rachelle Clark is secretly investigating the murder of the New York City K-9 Command Unit chief, Jordan Jameson. When danger comes Rachelle’s way, K-9 Unit Officer Carter Jameson (Jordan’s brother) ends up being her protector, along with his canine partner Frosty. This was another wonderful entry into the True Blue K-9 Unit continuing series. I really liked Rachelle. She was a brave and strong heroine and really showed that she could take care of herself. Carter was a great hero. He was a single father with an adorable daughter, Ellie. I enjoyed The Jameson family who are all into law enforcement, and the way that they are always there for each other. Frosty was an absolutely wonderful partner to Carter. Not only was Frosty adorable, but he was fantastic at his job. The story had a good mix of suspense and romance. And once again, New York City provided an excellent backdrop to another entertaining K-9 Unit story.

Arrrooooo! I might just have a super crush on Frosty, K-9 extraordinaire. And what a perfect name for a white German Shepherd! This guy is a multi-talented super star on the job and caring canine babysitter in his spare time. :-) That's my kind of hero!

Of course, his two-legged partner is pretty fine too. Carter's a dedicated single dad in police family royalty. I get a bit of a Bluebloods vibe from this series with the Jameson's being a multi-generational policing family. Love the way the brothers pull together and support each other -- especially the way they've helped Carter raise his motherless daughter. Young Ellie is a charmer and she has her daddy and her uncles wrapped around her little finger. There's something sooooo heartstopping about a tough protector type sitting down to a tea party, don't you think? Blissful sigh.

You'll have to forgive Carter for being a bit grouchy -- he isn't fond of reporters. Not after the sideshow they've made of his family after his brother's murder. But Rachelle is supposed to be reporting on the police-field-dog trials (which Officer Frosty excels at, of course!) only she's also been doing her own investigation into the chief's murder which infuriates Carter...and also an unknown criminal who seems to want her dead. And that's this dynamic policing duo's cue to stick close and protect.

This is the stuff page-turning dreams are made of! A real edge-of-your-seater suspense. Tons of gasp-out-loud moments as the danger escalates. And trying to figure out the whys and where-fors of the crimes and whether they are closing in on a ruthless killer...phew...the springs in my armchair sleuth's cushions got a real workout! And then there's the tentative romance that is wrong for so many reasons but also incredibly right for so many more. If only Carter and Rachelle can figure that out in time.

A breath-snatching romantic suspense fueled by action and angst. This sixth True Blue K-9 Unit novel can be enjoyed as a standalone, but readers familiar with the series will appreciate an added depth to the characters and the New York City setting. Not to mention the intricacies of K-9 policing!

I enjoyed this book. Really good series. My one complaint about these books in general is how quickly they get engaged. They don't even date, just confess feelings and get engaged. In this one, she said we have to get to know each other so let's not marry for a MONTH or two. Why the rush, Harlequin?

A fun, quick read. The one negative was there were a total of EIGHT, yes eight attempts to kill the protagonist. Would I say that was "overkill"? Yes, pun intended.

This was my first time reading a book by this author and I really enjoyed it.

Reminded me a lot of Blue Bloods in a way as well as New Amsterdam.

If you love Medical and Crime books than this book is for you!!

"Seeking the Truth" is a Christian romantic suspense. It's the fifth book in a series but works as a stand alone novel. The main characters were likable and reacted realistically to events. I understood why they were acting the way they did. I just didn't think Rachelle and Carter were a good match. Rachelle longed for affection and to belong to a family that really wanted her. She quickly made friends with Carter's family even to the point of undermining him to gain their affection. For example, she knew that he didn't want his young daughter to have cotton candy, but she promised the girl that she'll buy some and share it with the girl.

Carter's still grieving the sudden death of his wife in childbirth and not willing to risk losing someone like that again. Rachelle seeks out danger, not wanting to play it safe and thrilled by what a good news story it'll make. For example, Carter said they could check up on a boat name by calling someone while staying safe in the office. Rachelle wanted to go look for the boat on location. She implied she'd stay in the car, so they go, but then she jumped out (and into danger) when they got there. She criticized Carter for having a dangerous job while being a single parent, but she kept doing things that put them both in danger!

It's not that I didn't like her, I just didn't like how she treated Carter. His attitude toward her changed after seeing her dressed up pretty, and he made it clear that he was mostly attracted to her physically. His family pushed him to move on from his grief and fear to marry this girl that he cared for and they liked. But he deserved someone who cared more about him than what she could get from being married to him. The suspense came from the physical danger to Rachelle and later to Carter as he tried to protect her. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd recommend this exciting novel.

Seeking the Truth
True Blue K-9 Unit #5
By Terri Reed

Rachelle Clark is determined to be more than a fluff-piece reporter and the only way she sees able to do that is to secretly work on her own investigation into the murder of Jordan Jameson. When she gets the assignment to cover the local K-9 unit's participation in the upcoming national police dog field trials and certification competition she views this as the perfect chance to interview Officer Carter Jameson. Just one problem with her plan - Carter Jameson and the Jameson family have anything but warm fuzzy feelings towards reporters.

Carter Jameson has better things to do than deal with yet another reporter out to make a name over his brother's murder. But when Rachelle's safety and life are in danger he knows that he has to do whatever it takes to keep her safe. Now he just has to keep his heart safe because falling in love is not an option. As the danger increases it appears that Rachelle's investigation into Jordan's death has placed her right in the crosshairs of a killer.

This is the fifth book in the True Blue K-9 Unit series. Each book can be read as a standalone though there is a series arc that ties all the books together. The series arc is the murder and subsequent search for who and why. If you like clean-reading suspense with a touch of romance you will enjoy this book and series that features New York's finest four-legged officers. So sit back and get ready to spend a few hours in New York with a top K-9 unit.

I love reading the K9 stories! It amazes me all that the K9 officers can do and the bonds they have with their handlers.

The story of Carter and Rachelle is full of twists and turns and events that would leave a lesser person down. But nothing stops Rachelle from getting her story. She is determined to come out on top and as a reporter she is always on the trail. But has Rachelle followed a wrong lead that will be the end of her? She has a huge target in her back and they will stop at nothing to end her.

Carter and his partner Frosty and a team that’s agile, alert, and in sync with one another. Are they the best team to be body guards to a nosey reporter? Can they catch whoever is after Rachelle before it’s to late? Will Carter be able to open his heart to love again? He hates the things that he is feeling for Rachelle. He can’t have a relationship with her because his heart is closed. Can she change his mind?

Wonderful

I am really loving the True Blue series. Love the Jameson family. Carter feels he has lost his one true love, and he is not about to open his heart up to another, especially a reporter. Rachelle is tired of doing fluff pieces, she want to do some real reporting. So she started looking into the murder of Jordan Jameson, Carter's brother. That is when the action starts, there is attempted murder multiple times, kidnapping, threat to Carter's daughter. If you love mystery and suspense this is for you.

I really like the True Blue K-9 series. I like books with a real story, nice people, as a change of pace from H&H (hot & horny) characters.

The only thing I would say is, I wish there were more than the bad guys chasing and trying to kill the heroine in each book. Because she knows something or has seen something, the rest of the book turns on them trying to hunt her down and kill her. The hero and his dog rescues her. I know it is the ultimate in danger, but a little variety of plot would be nice.

3.5 rating. I loved Carter Jameson’s story. He is a single father who has built walls around his heart and emotions after his wife died while giving birth to his daughter, Ellie. Carter and his family distrust reporters ever since Jordan Jameson’s murder.
Rachelle Clark, reporter for NYC Weekly, has become Carter’s responsibility after he witnessed an attempt on her life. She tells Carter that she has been investigating Jordan’s murder and offers to share all her research with the K-9 Unit. Carter is given the task of keeping Rachelle safe while following the leads.

This story features a reporter Rachelle, that is tired of writing fluff pieces for her newspaper. So she secretly starts to investigate the murder of Captain Jameson. Unfortunately, this puts her in danger when she starts getting too close to the truth. Carter Jameson, along with his K9 parter, Frost, is assigned to protect her. Together, they seek to uncover the truth. This story was terrific, lots of suspense, a few twists and turns, and a little romance thrown in. Highly recommend.

The plot thickens!!!!! This is an amazing series. I'm really enjoying the intrigue and mystery. I look forward to each new book with more mystery and intrique winding down to the truth about Jordy's murder. I'm so glad that this installment ended on a happy note and I look forward to reading more about Rachelle, Carter and Ellie in the next installment of this wonderful series. The dogs are a delight to read about, especially Frosty and the puppies!!!!!

This book was a good continuation of the series. Lots of suspense.

It could have used a bit more romance. The physical attraction was there but there wasn't more of anything else, which I get can be hard to do in suspense situations. The daughter taking to her instantly was a bit far fetched for me. It also had one of my least favorite things to read about - widower who's first marriage was a love match.

Overall it was a good story.

Idk the lead female character....

I couldnt get to liking the lead female in this one. Family randomly trying to play match maker yet not knowing her. Also came off wrong to then attempt to change personality back and forth just made the character feel inappropriate for a single father.

A Reporter is Targetted for Murder
This book is the sixth in a series that would be best enjoyed by reading in order. In this book, an investigative reporter has caught the eye of a bad guy who wants her dead. The series revolves around the K-9s and their handlers of the NYPD. The story has a sweet romance in the background and is faith-filled. It is a wonderful series that I highly enjoyed.

4 stelle e mezza

Well written, and researched. I really like the many Search and Rescue books, seeing the great dogs in action, and their handlers, as well. Both so thoroughly trained.

A fun read that moved along quickly. As a follow up to the prior K-9 book Deep Undercover, it continued the storyline about Chief Jordon’s murder investigation. Light read with writing along the lines of what I expected for a Harlequin romance story mixed with police dogs and a mystery.

This has been another favorite for me. Loved it as much as I loved Zach and Violet's story.

The faith content wasn't as present as I would like, but there nonetheless. Still... can't wait to read the next one 😍
