Lunar Assault

Rate this book
Mechanized Warfare on a Galactic Scale

Sol. Humanity’s birthplace. And the enemy of the humans known as Terrans.

The Metal Legion is committed to saving all, despite their differences, despite their loyalties. Leeroy Jenkins commits the Metalheads to a battle that makes them traitors to the Republic and enemies of the Solarians. It’s the no-win scenario.

Unless they can do the unthinkable. The stakes are high and risk higher as they bet everything they have in a single pitched battle to win the freedom of all humanity.

Metal Legion – climb the ramp and come along for the ride. It’ll be bumpy and hot, but the sound of the 15kg mains is worth it.

Lunar Assault:(Metal Legion Book 4) - a review by Rosemary Kenny

A more politicised episode than perhaps was apparent in the previous three novels in the Metal Legion series by CH Gideon, Michael Anderle and on this occasion Caleb Wachter form a unique and talented collaboration in Lunar Assault, that is proving to be a continually successful storyline of military sci-fi.
Colonel Leeroy Jenkins takes the leading role in committing the Metal Legion (aka Metalheads or Terran Armored Corps), to play interference in the major galactic battle taking place between Terrans/humans and Solarians (who are Humanity's ancestral race). By doing so he lays himself and the Metal Legion open to courts-martial on charges of treason by politicians who resent his defiant actions. An uplifting loyalty and camaraderie between the 'Legionnaires' is heart-warming.

What is the outcome of the Legion's defence of the humans? Who doesn't make it back to Earth?
Who is the sinister enemy with a hidden agenda and what is their motivation? What happens next?

Don't miss this exciting gritty military space opera series that just keeps getting better and better!

An enjoyable series

A rip roaring tale of heroism in the face of alien skullduggery, bureaucratic inertia, selfish ambition and superior firepower. CM crafts a tale around strong, likeable characters. Well worth reading.

Thrilling Uplifting Sad

All of the above. Yes, it’s military sci-fi but so much more. Ideals, hard choices and epic battles with new, possibly suspect, allies. It’s war - people die yet the fight for humanity continues. Looking forward to the next!

Fantastic

Well once staunchest action and banter. Well written but by rights they really should have been put to the wall or imprisoned. Maybe a new storyline to think about The Penal Mech Warriors streetlight or too lol

I am hooked on the storyline and the characters. This book kept my interest all through the action. t does slow down in the final led up to the next book in the series. But I already have that book set up on my IPad to start reading.

How far would you be willing to go to save others? Would that extend to sacrificing everything you have and probably your life? Read and ponder.
