Rebooting the Bible: Exposing the Second Century Conspiracy to Corrupt the Scripture and Alter Biblical Chronology

Rate this book
Rebooting the Bible tells the shocking story of a second-century rabbinic conspiracy altering the words of the Bible to thwart the massive conversion of Jews to the Christian Gospel. The alterations sought to obscure the Messianic prophecies – concealing the case they set forth that Jesus of Nazareth is the Jewish Messiah. In addition, this provocative book presents extensive evidence that this conspiracy cut out 1,600 years from biblical chronology, thereby compressing crucial events in Genesis (e.g., the Flood and the Tower of Babel) into a much-reduced timeframe harming the Bible’s witness regarding the ancient history of the world. Its in-depth research identifies surprising yet substantiated dates for the birth of Abraham, the duration of the Egyptian enslavement, the timing of the Exodus, the Conquest of Canaan, the obscure period of the Judges, and the completion of Solomon’s Temple. In so doing, Rebooting the Bible, identifies a much earlier timeline for these foundational events revealing the correct dates the untainted Bible reveals. The book explains how the Greek Old Testament was created in Alexandria, Egypt from 280 BC to 130 BC, and why it consistently provides a more authentic rendering of the original Hebrew Bible (the “autographs”) than the Hebrew Bible of today. Because the Old Testament (the Hebrew Bible) as well as the Protestant Bibles (e.g., the King James Bible, the New International Version, New American Standard Version, etc.) are based on the Masoretic Text behind the Hebrew Bible, the power of the original prophecies as presented in the Old Testament have been compromised. Rebooting the Bible makes the case for why the Protestant and Catholic Church must include readings from the Septuagint to rediscover the original wording of the Bible. Finally, Rebooting the Bible supports the position that Egyptology and Mesopotamian Archeology can be better reconciled with the biblical text of the Septuagint, overcoming typical objections to its truth, strengthening the case for the Christian faith, and establishing the inspiration of the Bible.

This is a college level theological book (theological words defined within the text for those unfamiliar with theological terms) that discusses the biblical timeline and how it was altered by Rabbi Akivah to come against those passages that showed Yeshua/Jesus as Messiah. The timeline was altered for the same reason. The author looks at the Septuagint (LLX), the Dead Sea Scrolls, and the KJV. The KJV was translated without the benefit of the LLX which was the Bible used by the early Church until it was replaced by the photo-type and then the Masoretic Text (MT). Although it may sound boring by my description, this book is anything but boring. The author gives explanations and evidence to back up his claim that the biblical timeline has been altered. This is Part 1. Part 2 is expected to come out some time around November of this year. I am eagerly looking forward to reading it too.

This book should be read by all Christians (especially by those of the KJV only persuasion). Douglas Woodward gives concise information about the second-century conspiracy by certain Jewish Rabbis to corrupt the Masoretic text of the Old Testament to lead the texts away from Christ being the Messiah. This is why, in many Protestant Bibles, when the New Testament quotes the Old Testament, many quotes do not match up with what the Old Testament says.
Luckily for us, the Septuagint is a Greek translation of the Old Testament over 300 years before the Masoretic text was made by the Masorites. Because of this, we have access to unaltered Old Testament texts. This is evident because recent textual discoveries of the Dead Sea Scrolls have concluded that the Septuagint more closely resembles the original Hebrew.
While conspiracy is the book's main theme, the effects of the conspiracy affect more than just a few changed words and verses in select areas. The other major change that Rabbi Akiba made was the ages of Patriarchs in Genesis 5 and 11 that reduced the timeline by about 1,500 years.

Eye-opening, thorough work shedding light on a conspiracy to defraud the truth of early Judaism and of our Messiah: Jesus. I had heard tidbits about this before, but nothing as vivid as what is showcased in this book. I HIGHLY recommend this book to anyone wanting a greater understanding of the spiritual battle we are all in. Whether you're a believer or not, this pertains to you. Everyone's immortal soul is on the line. I pray everyone would give this book a read and see what has been pulled over the eyes of humanity for centuries, no, millennia.

Where has the time gone ?

It was very interesting to learn about the Septuagint and how it compares with KJV. Also to learn about the differences and the history behind their sources.
