After her husband's unexpected passing, retired secretary Rose Calahan just wants to give her heart proper time to heal. Before she has a chance to, her former private investigator boss is found murdered. Even more, the murder seems to be tied to an old case that Rose helped her boss in solving. All signs point to Rose holding the key to finding the killer. She sets out to investigate, determined to bring the murderer to justice.
Do elephants have paws? If a PI is any good, wouldn't he know his secretary had the hots for him, and why would he keep her on? How do you burn rubber in the middle of winter in Alaska during a snow storm? What kind of police department lets a manager of a coffee shop act like a police officer? Wouldn't the fact that she solved four of their murder cases raise some flags about their own detectives' abilities? Would a young woman barely three months pregnant look obviously pregnant? If the body of a suicide victim is not looked for because of logistics, then how do the police know all the other suicides are are suicides?
I know these are just quick reads, but at least there should be some modicum of believability.
Murder in Happy Creek, a cute, well-written clean cozy mystery, an enjoyable read. Killer Amnesia, another cute, well-written clean cozy mystery, an enjoyable read. College Can Be Murder, another cute, well-written clean cozy mystery & even though the ultimate ending was given away in the first quarter of the book it was still an enjoyable read. Dead Pan Murder, an enjoyable read. The Last Frontier of Murder, again the ultimate ending was given away in the first quarter of the book it was still an enjoyable read. Murder and Apple Cobbler, My thirtieth read from author Meredith Potts and only available in Meredith Potts Six-Book Cozy Mystery Anthology. Oh so short, but oh so good! Well-written & enjoyable. another cute, clean cozy mystery. (RIP Marley January 20, 2014 - July 24, 2018).
I like these mysteries because they are quick and easy to read. You will love the characters and it helps me 'clean my mind' from some of the darker mysteries I read. I love all of Meredith's stories and think I have just about all of them. Oh there is a new one included in this set that you haven't read before! I have read the stories in this set as stand alones before the became a box set....except for the new one.
This set features Sabrina and David in Treasure Cove in College Can Be Murder, The Last Frontier of Murder, Deadpan Murder, Killer Amnesia, Murder in Happy Creek and a new story Murder and Apple Cobbler. Fans will enjoy this anthology as it group some of their adventures as they solve cases in small town America.
Another great set of books. I just love books from Meredith Potts. They are cozy mysteries with no gore or foul language. They hooked me from the very beginning and keeps me guessing until the very end. I have read all the books in this set. It includes a new book that you can't get anywhere else. I highly recommend this boxed set and all books from this author.
Meredith Potts Six-Book Cozy Mystery Anthology was another great read by Meredith Potts. This box set consists of; Murder in Happy Creek, Killer Amnesia, College Can Be Murder, Deadpan Murder, The Last Frontier of Murder, and Murder and Apple Cobbler. I really enjoyed these books and can't wait to read more by Meredith Potts.
It seemed like most of the stories were the same just different names and settings. They were all quick reads. Didn't like How The stories were told from one point of view. Skipped over a lot of paragraphs that seemed to contain repeat information.
It was an interesting series. I always enjoy your stories. I find it hard to write a response at the end of all the stories. It's easier after reading each one. Sorry maybe it's my age. Thank you for keeping me entertained. Stay well.
If you like a collection of cozy mysteries without gore, erotica, or paranormals for a refreshing change, this or any other Meredith Potts collection is the very thing! Her stories are well crafted shorts that make life better. Enjoy!
