Rocco thought he knew pain and sacrifice... until demons dragged his female to the depths of Hell. Knowing he failed to protect her — and that her fate is in the hands of pure evil — is driving him to madness. With time running out, he'll do anything to bring her home; even embrace the unrelenting inner darkness he's fought his entire life.
Each day Kyler prays for death but there is no mercy in Hell. Lucifer's twisted son Diemos controls her every waking hour, waiting for her dormant powers to finally unleash so he can use them himself. Sweet dreams of Rocco are her only escape — but only in her wildest fantasies did she imagine him walking through the fires of Hell to save her.
Now Diemos will stop at nothing to get Kyler back. A brutal war is coming, and to survive, everyone will have to fight. Win or die — there is no second chance for the Knights and their mates.

Knight’s Retribution is book six in Sherilee Gray’s Kights of Hell series. Wow! This is Rocco and Kyler’s book and I knew it would be crazy awesome and it definitely was. We’ve gotten bits and pieces of Rocco throughout the series and finally, he gets his chance for happiness.
Knights were created for one purpose only, to fight the demons on earth and protect the humans. Knights are part demon, part angel. Their demon halves constantly battling for dominance. The one reward a Knight will receive is to find his mate, the one female that was made specifically for him. The woman who will calm his demon side. Rocco found his, only she wasn’t ready yet for him to explain things to, to tell her about the world she knew nothing about. Someone else wanted her as well, someone that knew what she would eventually be, and before Rocco could save her, she was taken deep into the bowels of the underworld.
Kyler is a demi-demon, half human, half demon. She knows nothing of this, hasn’t transitioned yet into her power. But Kyler is a very special demi, one with a special ability coveted by the king of the underworld who will go to great lengths to posses. When he got his chance, he took it, and Kyler was taken.
When a Knight has found his mate, he will slowly lose his ability to fight his demon side if he can’t be with her. Rocco has barely been hanging on as we’ve seen throughout this series. But he’s also been planning. He has found a way to open a portal to the underworld so he can find his Kyler.
This book is one thing after another as Rocco searches for his mate. At the same time, we learn what Kyler has been going through while being held.
This is a book of both the healing power of love and the fight against evil. As Kyler and Rocco fight for their love for each other, at the same time, the book is building towards the huge final showdown.
I love Sherilee Gray’s words. She has such a beautiful way of describing things, always making me feel so much. She made me feel the strength of the love between Kyler and Rocco, even when they were apart. This group of Knights, and the love they have for their mates, is breathtaking. This series is best read in order. You really don’t want to miss meeting all of the Knights and their mates. I hope you love them as much as I do.
REVIEW Kyler and Rocco melted my heart. Kyler had been through so much and worked so hard to heal. Rocco was there for every step of her journey.
It was a bit of a disappointment that we didn’t see them get together, but the flashbacks were cute regardless. It was clear they meant the world to each other.
I was happy to see Tobias and Scarlet get their HEA, although I wished the other knights and women addressed some of the atrocities he committed when he was “out of his mind.” They were quick to say it wasn’t really him, and sure, he was hurt and his life was over, but killing innocent women??? Anyone else would’ve been flamed. Also, Diemos could’ve been a knight had his circumstances been different. His acts were vile for sure. Forgiveness and evil vs. good was a huge theme throughout the series. Some acts are unforgivable, but that wasn’t the message here, and that’s okay.
I will say, the last 50% dragged a little, but it was building up to the big final fight, and preparations had to be made. It obviously took me a bit longer to get through, but that could also be because I wasn’t ready for the series to end.
The moments of brotherhood, sisterhood, and family was just amazing. I loved this giant family who loved each other so much and looked out for each other. Every past main character had a chance to shine and get their stories wrapped up.
This was a great end to a great series. I’m sad to see it’s over, but this has solidified Sherilee Gray as a go-to author.
OW/OM DRAMA not really OM — Kyler is being held captive and to make it out of the situation, she pretends to fall for Diemos
fake OW — Kyler is shown a view of Rocco being intimate with another woman, but it is fabricated and didn’t happen CHEATING no THIRD ACT BREAKUP no ENDING HEA — ~1 year later epilogue
POV dual / third person SPICE LEVEL 4 / 5 RATING 3.5 / 5
This was a great conclusion/addition to the series! I couldn’t wait to find out how Rocco was going to get Kyler back and holy heck, it was phenomenal!
Since losing his destined mate, Rocco’s every breath has been expended in trying to get her out of the hands of the son of Lucifer. He was driven to the point of almost losing his mind. Some of the actions he took to do what needed to be done were extreme. When he finally had her, his care and understanding were absolutely beautiful as he gave her what she needed in order to heal.
Kyler was pretty amazing in her determination to keep trying to do what she could to find a way to escape. Afterwards, her suffering just about broke my heart. I loved how she found the new her and everything that followed that.
This is filled with so much action and written in a way that pulled me directly into each scene to the point it felt as if I were there. I’ll admit, there were some details I had forgotten from the previous books so I recommend you read these in order. I suspect there are going to be additional books or perhaps a spinoff but this one felt like an ending. Definitely a great series for those that enjoy paranormal romances with angels, demons and lots of sizzling chemistry.
Knight’s Retribution was a fitting ending to an awesome series. It was action packed, steamy and kept me at the edge of my seat. I’d been waiting for Rocco and Kyler’s story for a while now and I loved the way it turned. I’m hoping for some spin-offs in the very near future. There are just so many characters I want to know more about. I definitely recommend this book and series especially to those who love paranormal romance that’s action packed and emotionally engaging. I enjoyed it and look forward to what the author has coming next.
Absolutely could not put this book down❣️Rocco is the book I’ve desperately been waiting for and it did not disappoint🤩
As we know Rocco found his mate, Kyler, in an earlier book in the series and when the portal opens between Earth and Hell, unbeknownst to him - demons have managed to track her down - and take her to Hell😢 Rocco desperately searches Earth with the help of the witch, Willow, to find a way to get Kyler out. Forces outside his control are meddling and giving him a helping hand, but he only discovers this later on and who the helping hand belongs to😉
I’m hoping Sherilee has more Knights books planned as I for one, do not want this series to end….or perhaps a Hellhound spin off🤷♀️ I received an advanced copy and voluntarily leave my honest review❤️
This book was a fantastic read. I've been waiting to see how Rocco and Kyler's story was going to play out and I wasn't disappointed. Their pain at being separated was so hard to read, but it was worth it to see them reunited. I have so enjoyed this entire series and am keeping my fingers crossed for a spin-off, based on the ending. Ms Gray is a one-click author for me and this book proves why.
Rocco’s story has every fan of this series wondering how it’s going to end. And what an ending it. But to be honest I’m not ready to let this series go yet. I really hope Willow and James get their own books because they are an essential part of the Knights’ world.

Wow! I've just finished an advanced copy and wow! I read it in one night. Could not put it down. I've completely fell in love with this series and this book has not failed. I won't leave any spoilers but READ IT. Fabulous writing again for Sherliee Gray 👏👏👏👏👏👏
🔥 “I couldn’t have asked for a better mate. I couldn’t have dreamed up a better female to be mine, to walk by my side.” ~~~ Kyler is one hell of a female! Despite the torture she endures in Hell, she still finds the strength and resilience not to give up. Her bravery and resistance are so admirable. And that’s even before she has her powers. With them, even with the PTSD, she’s a total badass! I absolutely adored her!
Rocco is the perfect match for such an amazing woman. He’s strong, protective and he’ll literally walk through Hell for the woman he loves. I also loved how patient, caring and gentle he was with Kyler after her rescue.
The development of their relationship is absolutely amazing - both have suffered enough and deserve healing and happiness. Their love is passionate and deliciously steamy - a true love that can conquer all.
And the final battle has finally arrived. I loved how badass and dedicated all the mates were. Together with their Knights they are a force to be reckoned with.
Overall, the story is a fantastic read and a fitting ending to a magnificent series. It has action, drama, danger, strong emotions, epic battles, powerful villains, romance and wonderful characters.
Rocco and Kyler were happy together until a demon drags Kyler to hell. Kyler is tormented and didn't expect Rocco to walk through the fires of hell to save her. The couple are made for each other. A truly lovely story and great conclusion to this series.
The war with Diemos is over and the next generation of Knights of Hell is being born and welcomed into the world. I can say I have enjoyed this series and was impressed. I call it a sexy shadowhunter series.

Satisfying conclusion. Took me longer to read than the others. Maybe b/c I didn’t want the series to end? But Rocco and Kyler’s story was worth the wait.
4.25 stars—KNIGHT’S RETRIBUTION is the sixth instalment in Sherilee Gray’s contemporary, adult KNIGHTS OF HELL erotic, dystopian, paranormal/fantasy romance series focusing on a group of demon hunters known as the Knights of Hell, warriors whose birth was ordained by the mating of angels and demons. This is half-angel/half-demon Rocco, and Demi-demon Kyler’s story line. KNIGHT’S RETRIBUTION can be read as a stand alone but I recommend reading the series in order as their is an ongoing premise throughout.
Told from dual third person perspectives (Rocco and Kyler) KNIGHT’S RETRIBUTION focuses on the rescue and recovery of Rocco’s mate Kyler, Knight of Hell Tobias and Tobias’ mate Scarlett. Rocco’s mate had been abducted and held prisoner in H*ll by Lucifer’s son Diemos. Diemos had fallen for our story line heroine but his methods of control are dangerous and abusive. Believing herself broken, Kyler struggles with her freedom and recovery following Rocco’s rescue, but Diemos isn’t one to give up, and the Knights of Hell, along with their mates, prepare for a war they had never wanted to fight. What ensues is the rebuilding romance and relationship between Rocco and Kyler, and the potential fall-out as the Knights must face the prince of the Underworld in an effort to save the women they love.
Kyler has been broken by Lucifer’s son. She relives the abuse and torture on a daily basis, the PTSD affecting her relationship with the man that she loves but Kyler has yet to come into her powers, powers that can be used when the Knights and their mates face down Diemos and his demons from H*ll. Rocco has been desperate to rescue his mate but as a half-angel Rocco is unable to pass through the gates of H*ll. In an effort to bring home the woman he loves, Rocco must remove the mark of his angel, and face down the brother he once thought was lost.
The relationship between Rocco and Kyler is one of fated love. Rocco knows Kyler is his intended/fated mate but Kyler has yet to come into her powers, powers that will have to be forced in order for our heroine to protect herself against future harm. Kyler abuse at the hands of Lucifer’s son has left our heroine with issues of trust, and in this, she struggles to accept the man who has promised to guard and protect her with all of his heart. The $ex scenes are intimate, erotic, and passionate without the use of over the top, sexually graphic language and text.
There is a large ensemble cast of colorful, energetic and dynamic secondary and supporting characters including all of the previous story line couples as well as Lucifer and his handmaiden Roxy; Diemos; Knight of Hell Silas, and witch Willow.
KNIGHT’S RETRIBUTION is a story of power and abuse, obsession and control, family, relationships, friendships and love. The fast paced and action packed premise is edgy, dramatic and intense; the romance is seductive and captivating; the characters are spirited and impassioned-the heroines are strong, tenacious and enthusiastic. KNIGHT’S RETRIBUTION is an imaginative and moving addition to the Knights of H*ll series.
Knight's Retribution is the 6th book of the Knights of Hell series written by Sherilee Gray. The story focuses on Rocco and Kyler as it wraps up the conclusion for the Knights of Hell series. As the love story between Rocco and Kyler was briefly introduced in prior installments, I was very excited to finally get to these two. Gray definitely did not disappoint!
Without trying to spoil anything, Kyler has been kidnapped in prior books, which caused Rocco a lot of turmoil and grief. As we finally get to read the perspective of Rocco, it was heartbreaking and gutwrenching reading how he had been affected throughout the whole ordeal.
On the other hand, Kyler was barely hanging by a thread, the tortures and mind games of Diemos were so saddening; Gray got me bawling my eyes out by the second chapter! At first, I was a bit worried about whether the story may be triggering to some audiences, specifically the scenes with Diemos and Kyler, as this series has mentioned dark themes in the past. However, Gray took a bit of a spin on things, where it was more of a psychological, so I think readers shouldn't feel discouraged about reading this book; unless the reader has a high sensitivity to certain issues.
I loved how gutwrenching some scenes were, and then there will be some comedic relief to give the reader some reprieve. Gray's interpretation of Lucifer is one of the best highlights of this series. Frankly, a lot of characters are so fascinating, I would love some spin-off to explore more characters (ex. Willow, Warrick, Silas, etc.).
Moreover, also loved how Gray explored Kyler's road to recovery after being abducted and abused by Diemos. A lot of her symptoms with PTSD and trauma were pretty realistic, and the journey and patience between Rocco and Kyler were so heartwarming.
The only critique I have with this series is that the final battle between Diemos and the crew was built up with anticipation for 6 books, so I wished Gray flushed out the battle more. Instead, it felt like it was quickly wrapped up so the series could end. However, the bond and satisfaction of having all the characters finally meet in one scene and interact made it up for me.
Overall, such a satisfactory ending for this series. It's one of my favourite paranormal series to date! From what I know, I think this is Gray's first officially published paranormal/fantasy book, and I highly encourage her to continue writing within this genre as she created such an intricate and unique world for her to explore.
Closing of this story arc. I was satisfied with how it all ended. The final battle scene was nice and dramatic. The good people won.
Poor Rocco. His not yet mated mate has been stolen to hell because she'll be able to open the gate.
Cut to Tobias, also in hell, after the whole demon dragon sacrifice thing. We learn that Scarlet, his mate, has no memory but is a healer in hell- so the demons can beat Tobias up again.
Slowly he talks to her, gives her back her name, and then one day makes her mad enough that she remembers.
Scarlet also has access to Kyler, being held in Diemos personal chamber. She's getting beat by him and occasionally his guard.
They make a plan to get Kyler out. It works, but T and Scarlet have to stay behind. New plan, get them out. It works but Diemos still wants Kyler. They know next solstice, it's full on.
Meanwhile, Rocco & Kyler mate- he's gotta be chained down bc she can't stand touch. After they are mated, she's ok and they discover her ability is strength and fighting.
The girls are all training in secret. They were there to help Scarlet and Tobias out of the portal.
I am very happy with the series and its ending. It managed to hook me with each story, making me suffer and suffer with the pain and misery of each knight. I liked how she managed to weave each book with the threat of Diemos, the presence of Lucifer and the companionship between the knights and their unconditional love for their wives.
I miss Silas' story and Lucifer's story being more extended. I can agree with the theories of the ending, although it seems to me that they both contradict each other. If they couldn't have babies until they fought the final battle why is it that their babies are Knights because something worse is coming? Can't it just be that a knight spawns knights and not that tougher battles are coming? Anyway, time will tell if the author brings us the stories of the babies. For now I'm dying to read the next spin-off.
I miss a Silas story and that Lucifer's story is more extended.
I received an advanced copy in exchange for an honest review.
This was just wow. There was so much action going on. I had a book hang over after this one. I read the entire series over again before I received this one. Everything was fresh from all the books and couples coming together. My emotions were everywhere with while reading this book. I almost cried tears of joy once they were together again. I was soo happy they were all together again. There was constant things going on fast paced and just great world and character building. I hope this isn’t the end of this world and a spin off is coming in the future.
I am still shocked Lucifer is a cat person. Who knew?!? I think Lucifer is one of my favorites though. So unexpected and just no words.
I have recommended this to many of my friends to read as well. This has become one of my favorite series.
This is the story of Rocco and Kyler. In a previous book, Rocco had found his mate and then lost her to the demons. Kyler begins the book living in hell, literally as well as figuratively, and she's all out of hope. Rocco is a shadow of his former self, but he hasn't given up. He's finally gathered everything he needs and is determined to go after his mate.
I loved this book. It was so good to see Rocco get himself sorted, and I loved seeing Scarlet and Tobias. There's plenty of steam, plenty of drama and also a genuine connection between characters. My one gripe is that we didn't really see enough of Scarlet and Tobias later on. It would have been nice to see them slotting back in with the others and getting their happily ever after.
I'm now really hoping that Silas gets a book, even though he'd not a knight! And maybe some Hellhound stories too!
Excellent book!! Great ending to the series. MMC, Rocco goes to hell to rescue FMC, Kyler, his female. She been there for months being tortured physically and mentally by the current king of hell. MC's finally escape but FMC is not the same. She keeps seeing the king of hell everywhere. But with the help of Rocco and the other mated females she overcomes her fears. The chemistry between them is sizzling hot. Finally they mate and are so happy. But they know war is coming. King of hell wants Kyler back. So they all start training. Hard. The mated females push until their mates finally agree to let them fight. Will they all survive the war? Read the book. You won't be sorry. I couldn't put it down.
Loved this series! Loved the camaraderie between the guys especially all the women. I also loved that even though there might have been other things going on, each book was still heavily focused on the romance between the main couple.
Not sure if this was meant to be the last book in this series or not? Each of the warriors got their HEA but i'm hoping Silas, Lucifer and even Deimos will get books. Whether it would be a book in this series or spin off stand alone books i don't know but i'm def. hoping it happens!

The sixth part is a very good ending, although I feel unsatisfied, because a lot of things remain in limbo at the end. I hope this continues in another series. Lucifer was the best of the best 😈 For me as a whole, it was 4 hellish stars ⭐
I'm so sad that this series is over but what a great way to end it! I thought the pace of the book was perfect. I never got bored or felt anything was too rushed, which sometimes happens with series finales.
Rocco and Kyler are such a great couple. Rocco is so patient and determined. Kyler is so strong and overcomes so much.
I really hope there are more books set in this world. I need more of Silas, the hounds, and I think Lucifer even needs a book.
I can't wait to see what Sherilee Gray comes up with next.
I have mixed emotions finishing this book. I’m so freaking excited but I’m absolutely gutted it’s finished. I’m not ready for it to be finished. Rocco is getting his mate back no matter what. Kyler needs out. She’s at the end of her breaking point. With some help from a couple of knights they plan. The end is coming. Diemos wants Kyler for himself and will stop at nothing to keep her. The females want to join the fight. Can the knights forget their pigheadedness for a while to let them? Read this amazing book to find out
Wow! What a way to end this series. I can’t wait for the last book in the Thornheart series now. This book was amazing. Rocco and Kyler were yet another fabulous couple. I just don’t have enough words to describe how beautiful and terrifying Sherilee Gray’s writing is. I really can’t believe someone hasn’t made these books a Netflix series or something but then again another part of me would be afraid they wouldn’t be able to do it justice. Thank you for the fun of reading these books.
I received an advanced copy of this and I really enjoyed it! I was so looking forward to Rocco and Kyler's story and I couldn't believe it's FINALLY here. This has one of my favorite tropes where the hero does absolutely everything in his power to get the heroine back and Rocco did exactly that. I am sad to see this series come to an end but I hope that Sherilee Gray writes a spin-off of this series because I would love to read more stories be told in this universe!
I can't even tell you how much I loved this series!
I had the first book, not knowing how addicting it was and scooped up the series immediately. Sherilee Gray sucks you right on in to these books. I read five books within a week and dragged this last one out not wanting it to end. Now I can't wait to read The Thornheart Trials attached to this one starting with Willow's story. Great job!
WOW LOVE LOVE LOVE THIS SERIES it's close to being my favorite series. The way she writes just pulls u in u don't want to will can't put the book down till u know what happens next. I really hope there will b another book in this series. Just bc I fell in love w every one of those characters, that she wrote so so well. This is def a series I will read repeatedly.
