After reading book one, I was torn between delighting in the plunge or being terrified and wondering what the future could hold for Hollywood's golden couple. I mean, they barely knew each other, and there were so many outside forces working to make their lives difficult…
Past lovers coming forward to complicate the relationship, with false allegations, flirtations, and misunderstandings. These secondary characters grew so much in book two, making you want to love/hate them even more. Then there were the demons from Holliday's past. This was no overblown unnecessary drama. This was a real, living, breathing devil of a man who deserved nothing less than what he had given. Times ten. I really have to admit, I wanted to watch Roman squish him under his heel like the parasite he was. The healing of the relationship with Roman's ex-wife was also a really nice touch. She became someone you could begrudgingly admire, as she learned to make decisions based on what was best for her family, and those that mattered to her.
Perfectly Scripted was no less steamy than book one, and felt even more so considering how emotionally invested I became in Roman and Holliday. Despite fighting against the hustle and bustle of their high profile lives, they just felt so right together. Watching them navigate an overly complicated relationship in that world was exhausting and inspiring all in one. I found this book to be just as addictive as the first, and if it's any indication of her other works, I will definitely know not to start a book by Christy Pastore unless I have either hours to read or nowhere to be the next day. Definitely a satisfying conclusion to this series! ~ George, 4 stars
