The world is always telling us that we should be living the high life. Their idea of the high life is having a beer in our hand, sitting in a tropical paradise, and being surrounded by beautiful, wealthy people. Commercials and billboards picture "the high life" as idyllic landscapes and luxurious lifestyles. But what really is the high life? Deep down inside, every human being knows what the high life is. the high life is being both happy and successful inside and out. It is something we all long for, but most of us believe it is impossible to achieve. The question is, why would God put that desire in us and then give us no way to realize it? He wouldn't! The bible tells us that we can live the high life through Jesus Christ. Jesus is the way to the high life, so why isn't every Christian living it? The Bible tells us why. It says that we must first change the way we think. Proverbs 23:7 says that we are what we think. That would mean that if we are poor, miserable, lonely, scared, sick, or frustrated and in a rage all the time-it is because of what we are thinking. I heard it said once that we will always move in the direction of our most dominant thoughts. That is a profound truth! if we see ourselves working hard but never getting ahead, then we will probably continue to work hard and never get anywhere. We can be born again and filled with God's Spirit, but if we are constantly thinking of our selves in terms of poverty and unhappiness, that is what we are going to experience in life. There is a good reason the Holy Spirit used the apostle Paul to literally be Christians to attend to their minds. "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be not conformed to this but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Proverbs 12:1-2 This says that when our minds are consumed with the Word of God, we will be transformed and moved in the right direction. We will "prove" to the world around us what is the will of God, and His will is always truly good, fully acceptable, and perfect. The Bible makes it clear that God's will is for us to succeed and live in joy unspeakable and full of glory! This says that when our minds are consumed with the Word of God, we will be transformed and move in the right direction. All this sounds simple enough. Just renew our minds or change the way we think by reading and studying the Word of God. Then all of us blood-bought, Spirit-filled believers should do just fine. However, i have noticed that many of us are not doing just fine. Personally, I have never been more built up and charged up since I began this study of how to renew my mind. I have discovered the vital importance of keeping it renewed. Understanding and going through this process has removed so many barriers and limitations I had placed on God's ability to move in my life-ways of seeing myself, my family, my church, and my God that had kept me from receiving everything Jesus died to give me. When I got serious about renewing my mind, I discovered the key to living the high life! For that reason alone I believe this is one of the most important books ever written.

Transform Your Thinking, Transform Your Life by Dr. Bill Winston is a heavy hitter. I must warn you if you’re not ready for change, responsibility and accountability for what you know, then don’t read this book.

Dr. Winston has opened up the door to spiritual renovation that will blow your mind. I plan to keep this book and skim back through it to get anything I missed, and maintain that which the Holy Spirit has imparted while reading. In this hour, God is raising up mature sons and daughters to do exploits for His kingdom and Dr. Winston’s book will help get God’s children to that place of maturity if they allow it.

While reading this book I began to see and understand how my heavenly father is using the problems I face to bring glory and honor to his name and bringing me to a place of victory. I saw how my incorrect thinking was distorting my view of God. He is not allowing trails and tests to teach me a lesson, although I will learn from the process, He is giving me problems to solve so that I can be more than a conqueror.

God!

I'm on a mission this year to read as much as I can about thought life and faith. I've picked up a lot of books and/or authors I've never heard of, like this one. It's on topic, though, so I wanted to read it.


Overall, there are a lot of great things in this book--I took plenty of notes and underlined a lot of passages. His emphasis on renewing your mind is spot on and supported in Scripture over and over again, as are his reference to the importance of spirit and truth.


However, I would encourage people to read carefully and prayerfully about what transforming your mind looks like. Yes, it absolutely changes our hearts and minds and conforms us to Christ; I hesitate to agree that it also means people will all have the same natural outcomes. Some of the most faithful, strongest Christians I know have health issues; it's not because they don't believe enough. Blanket statements about how our faith will manifest naturally (with wealth, health, status, etc.) can be misinterpreted and lead people to expect things that happened for other people instead of expecting things that are promised in Scripture.


Overall, some good stuff in this book, I would encourage reading in prayerfully and with discernment to distinguish biblical absolutes from personal experience.

This is one of the best books I read this year. I made it a goal to read 10 pages daily so it could be doable with my schedule. Also, having a consistent program allowed me to not miss a day of reading. So here are my takeaways from the first 4 chapters:

1. Chapter 1: I learned about the difference between, Your spirit and your soul. This was very helpful because it allowed me to see the difference between when God is speaking to one, when it is yourself, and when it is from the devil.

2. Chapter 2: I learned about how giving in to pressure, is the same thing as going with the enemy's plans. When you give in, you play into the traps of deception. One might think that they will stop being bothered at the moment, but it is you really signing a contract for disaster.

3. Chapter 3: The power of Meditation! I was able to learn about meditation in a Godly way. It showed me that the new age moment is just a perverse version of the tools God has given his children. Also that whatever you meditate on will become your reality.

4. Chapter 4: Leaving your comfort zone with the things of the lord. That is the only way you can grow.

AMAZING book. Took me a month to read and will restart. Renewing my mind has been incredibly wonderful and adjusting. Let go and all that’s not in line with the Word of God. Read this book for life. Roman’s 12:1-2 is my favorite

Thanks so very much Pastor Winston for this life changing book! Transforming my mind is so vital to becoming what GOD has created me to be. I have to study to show myself approved, love people regardless if they love me back, meditate on His word day and night that will transform me into a mighty woman of valor to change the world and see things as GOD sees them! I recommend this book to anyone who needs to change the way you think and to become who GOD created you to be [ A World Changer for Christ Jesus]. I gave this book five stars because it has given me wisdom and incite.
