In a Philadelphia, Pennsylvania parking garage, artist Dana Donato is grabbed from behind, beaten, drugged, and awakens in an underground dungeon. She is rescued by someone nearby who hears her screams when she realizes her captor's truck left the driveway.
At the hospital, testing done for the damage to her body reveals shocking news that could destroy her plans for the future. When Nick, her fiancé, returns from a business trip, she then decides to keep that part of her life secret.
As her lies and secrets pile up, the heat rises with her attacker's threats that he will kill her family. Dana takes her son and fiancé to another location: her chalet in the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania.
When her stalker kills a close friend and threatens to come for her son next, she goes to the police with all she has kept inside for so long. Once the detectives catch the criminal, Dana picks him out of a line-up, and he is held without bail.
But, when one of her paintings arrives at their new home in Cape May, NJ, it has blood splotches all over it, which forensics confirms. Will she convince the detectives that they have the wrong man in time to save her son?
What Dana doesn't know is that her secrets are small in comparison to the one she is unaware of that could bring down her entire family.
Dana was kidnapped,, raped, beaten and help captive in a basement. Luckily one day a neighbor hear her yelling and helped her get out . She told the woman do not tell anybody. She kept moving but it didn't do any good. He always seemed to know where she was . He'd break into her house She was a artist and he would steal her painting and ramsack her place. Things kept getting worse . He family was getting killed off , people were dying one by one. Then they thought they had him in jail but bad stuff still happened. How? She had a son from this man Charlie but never told him or her boyfriend what happened and didn't want this predator to know he had a son. The ending is really a WOW . What a ending , one never expected to be the outcome.
The title is enticing and the story was great. The book kept me entertained and turning the pages. The only criticism I have is there were too many words which slowed the story down. I hope it is not too long to wait for the next in the series as not all questions were answered.
