While on holiday in Brighton with Hastings, Poirot cannot resist the case of a missing necklace. Also published as "The Jewel Robbery at the Grand Metropolitan."

Poirot is supposed to be on vacation for the weekend with his friend Hastings, when a hotel guest's pearl necklace is stolen, so of course Poirot must take it upon himself to solve the case.
Another fun story of how Poirot uses logic & little evidence to solve a crime. Loved it!
I found this one to be much better than “The Affair at the Victory Ball”. The characters were stronger and had more personality; the whole story, especially the characters, had that classic Christie touch.
taking a break from all the theology. love reading these short mysteries. feel bad taking credit for them as books with my reading challenge, but oh well.
Even with Poirot practically telling him...Hastings is still oblivious...he wouldn't be able to find a clue even if it was strapped to an auburn haired hottie that he is always mooning over
