Twitcher: An Illustrated Dystopian Cyberpunk Tale of Revenge and Redemption

Rate this book
With six days to live, sometimes all you want is something worth dying for.

North America. Civilization has retreated to the eastern third of what was once the United States and Canada.

Tyler Samson is a cyborg soldier with six days to live. He knows this. To the second. He’s spent the last two years hiding from his regrets—and his former employer—waiting for the inevitable.

Ben is an eleven-year-old genetically-engineered weapon of mass destruction running from his makers. All he wants is a chance to be something other than what he was made to be.

When the two meet, Tyler sees in Ben a last opportunity for revenge against those who’ve stolen his life and Ben sees in Tyler a possible savior. Neither yet sees the truth. With so little time left, will Tyler choose revenge or redemption?

Twitcher is a gut-wrenching, military scifi tale set in a dystopian future. With over twenty full-page illustrations from the author, Twitcher offers an unflinching look at what it means to live and die for something—or someone—greater than yourself.

I received an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.

This book is very thought-provoking. I am still pondering it awhile after finishing it. The plot went in ways I didn’t expect and I really enjoyed that. I had no idea what was going to happen at the end, which was refreshing because I find a lot of books tend to follow certain themes and general formulas, but not Twitcher. It really is a unique story that I enjoyed reading!

The drawings are beautiful and I really enjoyed getting to see the story visually.

Another great story by Kaleb Shad!

This dystopian story is what movies are made of! Kaleb paints a future where things are so bleak that you have to ask the same tough questions about everything. There is so much good stuff that I don't want to give anything away! And, the artwork is top notch again! High recommendations!

I love the illustrations in this novel. The story has lots of gun action and stream-of-consciousness writing, which isn't my normal thing, but the art really brought it to life. It was also surprising up to the very end!
