Dystopia: Love at Last Sight

Dionne und Lyon sind Bruder und Schwester. Während Lyon das Herzstück der Familie zu sein scheint, ist Dionne immer nur der Prellbock. Scheinbar können sie und ihre Eltern keinen Draht zueinander finden. Um Dionne Halt zu geben ist Lyon immer für seine kleine Schwester da und somit ihre engste Bezugsperson. Oft wird Dionne von Albträumen gequält, in denen Lyon aus ihrem Leben verschwindet. Als sich ihre Freundin Shikku für Lyon interessiert ist Dionne Feuer und Flamme. Doch was so schön beginnt, endet für die beiden Mädchen in einem Albtraum, als Lyon bei einem Verkehrsunfall verunglückt. Und plötzlich ist da jemand in Dionnes Familie, der Lyon zum verwechseln ähnlich sieht... Dionne kann es einfach nicht glauben.

Ihr kennt das sicher. Ihr kauft ein Buch oder ein Manga, weil euch das Cover gefällt und dann die pure Ernüchterung. Die Zeichnungen in dem Manga sind nicht unbedingt schlecht, sind mir aber zu simpel und zu überkitscht - schon mal nen Familienvater gesehen, der aussieht wie 16, sein Hemd oben offen trägt und ne Krawatte drüber? Nee? Aber sowas zeichnen... Auch die Geschichte finde ich weniger ansprechend. Die Liebe zwischen Shikku und Lyon hätte viel besser ausgebaut werden können und auch die Bruder-Schwester-Verbindung mehr beleuchtet. Und dann kam irgendwann der absolute Oberknaller, bei dem ich dachte, dass ich vom Glauben abfalle. Ein Klon? Von Lyon? Weil dieser einen Herzfehler hatte und sie einen Organspender brauchten? Wie krank ist das denn bitteschön? Erst einmal die Eltern, die bereit sind ein Leben für ein anderes auszulöschen und dann, weil der Goldjunge tot ist, den Klon als Ersatz nehmen? Der ist dann auch plötzlich da, keiner weiß wo er war, was er so lange gemacht hat etc. - hat der in einem Gefrierschrank gelagert oder was? Das ist so an den Haaren herbei gezogen... und dann noch die Freundin von Dionne - Shikku. Verliebt sich in Lyon, dann bricht ihre Welt zusammen und dann kommt der Klon daher und sie ist wieder Feuer und Flamme? Ganz glatt ist die aber auch nicht nein? Und je verzwickter die Situation wird, desto unerträglicher wird der Charakter der Dionne. Sie zickt, sie übertreibt und innerhalb von Sekunden ist alles wieder tuttifrutt. Das ist nicht dein Ernst liebe Autorin? Wenn man schon die Thematik Klone als Ersatzteillager einführt, sollte man das auch sensibler behandeln, und weiter ausbauen - besonders wenn der Bengel dann auch noch in die Familie soll, die ihn ja eigentlich geopfert hätte. Für mich geht dieser Manga ganz und gar nicht.
Empfehlen kann ich dieses Werk keinesfalls und ich kann auch nicht verstehen, wie so ein gequirlter Quark in die Daisuki kommen konnte. Ich habe die Daisuki als Jugendliche immer gern gelesen, weil man dort Klassiker gefunden hat wie z.B. God Child, Fruits Basket etc. Das hatte ja noch Sinn und Verstand, aber Dystopia? Absolutes no go. Da kann man noch so gut zeichnen wie man will, wenn die Story nicht stimmt, ist es einfach vertane Liebesmühe. Schade eigentlich.

A story trying too hard to be tragic. It's either too long or too short; the ending chapters seem out of place and tacked on. The art's not bad, and the plot starts out fine, at least.

Read this maybe in 2008? for the first time and I absolutely loved it. It was heart wrenching and beautiful to look at and so different than anything else I have read.
Reading this again in 2018 after not touching it in between I have to say, my opinion has drastically changed. I still enjoy the art style and the story is still interesting, but the dialogue feels weird sometimes and there are so many questions still unanswered and Dyonne is actually really getting on my nerves with how irrational and emotional she is.

I think this story would have been better if it was fleshed out a bit more and expanded.

A touching love story with plot twists and lots of drama concerning the characters. I would like to read a sequel!

Caspita, letto dopo tutti questi anni mi sono accorta che la storia non ha alcun senso!
Una coppia di fratelli. Lui perfetto è malato grave da bambino. Lei un po' più ribelle con un pessimo rapporto con i genitori. In più c'è la migliore amica di lei che è innamorata del fratello.
Fin qua, tutto bene. I disegni sono anche carini e i commenti che fa l'autrice anche.
Ma poi. Il fratello e, all'improvviso e senza nessun motivo, compare un . Al punto che la sorella dà di matto e comincia a litigare con il mondo.
A questo punto la storia ha ormai perso qualsiasi motivo di interesse. Non esiste un sequel, che magari avrebbe chiarito un po' di punti.
Nota storia: all'inizio degli anni Duemila, in Germania si pubblicava la rivista Daisuki, una vera e propria rivista di manga che pubblicava un episodio al mese di opere sia giapponesi, sia tedesche. Poi, quelle di successo venivano raccolte in volumi, proprio come in Giappone. All'epoca c'era una fioritura di mangaka tedesche.

First manga to read. I say 2.75 out of 5 stars. Like what the hell was that? I don’t know why I wasted my money. The curiosity in me thinking that this book is going to be some romantic chic-lit or a Hunger Games meet Divergent kind of manga book that I will enjoy. Why called it Dystopia? I don’t see the connection. And why the main character is so freaking annoying? Expect for Shikku. Oh well!

It was good, and it's the first manga I have read. When I was about 12 I had bought Akasuki, which was a magazine that had the first chapter o Dystopia and two other stories so that was my first encounter with it but I never found the next issue so when I found the manga two days ago I bought it. I liked the story and the firt plot twist was actualy good but I think that the second one ruined it. I was told however that this is "classic Japanese" by a fan so maybe I'm not used to it yet.
Overall I'm happy with it and I want to read more manga now.

April 24, 2015The first Manga I ever read, and I can't remember a lot. Something about a brother I think, and someone was ill and someone was born to replace them and I don't really remember how all of that went down.
But yeah, I just remembered that this was my first Manga and that I don't have it on Goodreads yet. I think I liked it. I'm not even sure which year I read it. 2008? 2007? I should read it again sometime.

I read this manga in German, so I'm a bit conflicted which one to check but I guess this will be fine.
I enjoyed this manga a lot, especially the unexpected twists and I'll finish here with the review, otherwise I'll give too much information which might spoil the joy of reading this wonderful manga ^__^

Diese Geschichte hatte Potenzial aber man musste mehr Motive dazu bringen. In diesem Zustand ist es eher langweilig, fast ohne Aktion und mit sehr langen Dialogen. Drei Bände mit größerem Charakterentwicklung und mehr Handlung würden diese Manga besser passen.
