Indy and his chosen family are celebrating the holidays…in true No Shame style.
It’s time to say I do, and Indy couldn’t be more excited. Side by side with Noah, Josh, and Connor, he’s proud to take his vows with their friends watching.
But his post-wedding bliss is rudely interrupted when his past once again comes back to haunt him. And not just him, Connor gets some shocking news as well that leaves him reeling.
Before they can all share the best Christmas ever, they’ll need to come together as one family.
No Angel is the fifth book in the No Shame series, a continuing series that needs to be read in order (start with No Filter). You can expect the usual sexy shenanigans, some suspense, and a whole lotta love and emotions as we reconnect with all characters from the previous books.
Would you like the long or the short version of my bio?
The short? You got it.
I write steamy gay romance books and I love it. I also love reading books. Books are everything.
How was that?
A little more detail? Gotcha.
I started writing my first stories when I was a teen…on a freaking typewriter. I still have these, and they’re adorably romantic. And bad, haha. Fear of failing kept me from following my dream to become a romance author, so you can imagine how proud and ecstatic I am that I finally overcame my fears and self doubt and did it. I adore my genre because I love writing and reading about flawed, strong men who are just a tad broken..but find their happy ever after anyway.
My favorite books to read are pretty much all MM/gay romances as long as it has a happy end. Kink is a plus… Aside from that, I also read a lot of nonfiction and not just books on writing. Popular psychology is a favorite topic of mine and so are self help and sociology.
Hobbies? Ain’t nobody got time for that. Just kidding. I love traveling, spending time near the ocean, and hiking. But I love books more.

Well that was a whole lot of exceedingly kinky sex thrown into a festive catch up with all the No Shame gang.
It's pretty much an extended sex-ilogue with each of the relationship dynamics - pair, throuple and quad - getting their moments in the sun, so to speak.
There's also a small plot conclusion involving Connor's mother which came out of the blue but which fit into the unabashedly crazy narrative this series has carried since it started.
Sex is hot, plentiful and happening all over the place but there's also emotions invested into all of these relationships.
I'm not sure if there wasn't some groundwork being laid for either another book in this series, or a possible associated spin off but I'd happily read it!
#ARC kindly received from the author in return for an honest and unbiased review.
I really enjoyed this installment (and set-up for a spin-off?) and there is a lot to celebrate for all the couples, but also some difficult moments. It read like an extended epilogue and does seem to wrap up the storyline of Indy's past and what Josh and Connor did for him.
The best part of the series is how all the men learn to accept their needs and love each other for who they are. The extended family here is hot, kinky, sweet and devoted to each other.
If you've been a fan, this book is a great way to cap things off with the main three groups of men.
This book was the most beautiful and way to wrap up the series! I am going to miss my boys! But the ending made it completely worth everything! I love love love this series! Recommend it to everyone
I was going to say, "Other than that, no comment."
However, I'm conflicted because the words! The words! Are pouring through my brain.
Preface: I've followed this series from the beginning. I love this series. I love the kink, the developing relationship(s), the (un)conventional relationships, and most of the MCs strike one chord or another in my head, heart or libido.
Now: It was great to catch up with them all in this book, except it came off as mostly porn, little plot, and I felt that the characters deserved better. There were a FEW loose ends wrapped up in anticlimactic fashion, and one, very important relationship development/continuation that occurred, but for the most part?
This was an extremely gratifying (if you can look past the uber-unrealistic sappiness) one-hander with not much new going on except the introduction of some peripheral characters with spinoff possibilities.
Hopefully the next books don't devolve into the Woodstock chick-flick version of chains, whips, Daddies, creative buttplugs, collars, monster cocks and cum dumpsters, etc. etc. etc.
I get off on all those words. I get off on angst. I get off on ALL the tropes in this series. I especially get off on all the love, love, love. And that's more than you probably need to know, but *shrugs* I don't care. It's all true.
Ultimately: This title was just a bit too...OTT. The dynamics here were already (admittedly per the author's words) unrealistic, but the love/sex fest pushed it a tad too far over the unbelievable line for my tastes.
I NEVER COMPLAIN ABOUT TOO MUCH SEX! And I'm still not complaining. I just would have enjoyed it more if the story portion created more balance.
I was hyped to revisit the MCs and the very small amount of extended overarching plot arc, but I was simultaneously left feeling like this was a quickie afterthought walk of shame instead of a No Shame, no holds barred bridge to something new (and possibly still connected).
So A+++ on the nookie and inclusiveness. And C- on the plot.
This whole series is pornish, kinky as all get out but really good. I liked it even if this last book was more of a big orgy than anything else. In the guys’ house, every ailment is healed with sex and a kink of some kind.
This wedding and Christmas story is definitely the perfect one for these 7 people. I love their found family and how accepting they are of everyone and their boundaries and desires.
I loved this series, but because I read some of the deleted scenes from other stories, it felt like a little recap. Not much action happened in this book, which was what I was expecting.
To my ratings (thanks to amazon I had to change it again and 'upgrade' it a little bit)
5* - very very good and rare (it would be a Blow- Away-book like 'Liberty' from Seth King, 'Save the kids' series from EM Leya or 'Jesse's Smile' from Angelique Jurd), it's like an A+
4* - very good and will be often reread and is a WOW-book with interesting plot and surprises (like most of Andrew Grey books) it's like an A
3,5* - a really good book, which will be reread a few times (most romances where you can enjoy for relaxing and during waiting times in hospitals). I can recommend them definitively! It's like an B+
3* - it's more then a one-time-reader, but not really an often (3-4 times a year) reread book
It was really not a good idea, that I started this book at the afternoon. I was finish at around 8 pm and directly started to reread the whole series. Ok, I knew the other books, so I could read 2 books until 2 am. But really, if you want to sleep in the night, don't start the book in the afternoon! It's so so good again! To see all the guys again and together and interact together... I LOVE THE BOOK! I really hope, there will be some more books of them, there are more holidays to come. And with the security Dom-guy.... who knows....
Edited to add: I love everything about this series, and getting to revisit the self-made family - and under such great circumstances - was amazing.
While there are some fluffy aspects, there are also some more angsty parts so it doesn't feel like an extended epilogue, and the balance between the two is just right. ________________
Review to come.
I feel like I blew through it so fast because I had anticipated it for so long, that I need to read it again before I can properly put into words how much I liked this.
This author and this series were what got me "hooked" on this genus. The men of this series started with two...three before the first book ends, and they have just kept adding to their "family" with each new story.
These guys are all finally under one roof and they literally burn the pages with their love for each other. Are their love lives unconventional? To most folks...probably. Even some of their family members think that it's over the top unconventional; but what matters in the long run is that it makes them HAPPY, and it WORKS for them. You love who you love and that’s all that matters! One of my more favorite lines was when Josh realized, in the middle of making Thanksgiving dinner that “Love doesn't have conditions…. Love possesses no limits, no fear, no shame". (all titles of the other books in this series) "Love rises above that; otherwise, it wouldn’t be love.” I had to think, "Well said Josh".
I had not expected this special treat, so it was a welcome, wonderful surprise gift. I ask you...what can be more fun than a wedding, especially a holiday wedding? Well, two couples in a duo wedding makes it a more pleasant surprise gift. Add in all the festivities of the holidays and you get lots of fun and sexy times. I especially liked the “Christmas Game”, leave it to Indy, to came up with this. These men are so thoughtful and really understand and respect each other's likes and differences. I thought that this series might be finished, but after being rewarded with this story.... hopefully maybe not. After Burke, Blake and Brad’s brother, show up at Thanksgiving wanting to ask for forgiveness...they certainly need/deserve their own stories.
Nora Phoenix is one of my favorite authors. I believe I have read and/or own, everything that she currently has in print. This is definitely not a standalone book or series.... but everyone knows that I don't usually "follow the rules"...but for this series to make good sense, you really need to...I will try to do better:) Be better than me and start at the beginning with book 1, No Filter. Trust me, you will be glad that you did.
No Angel is the fifth and final book in Nora Phoenix's No Shame series. Note that this series absolutely must be read in order, so you shouldn't read this unless you've finished the original four books in the series. This book functions as an extended epilogue for the series. Here's what you can expect:
❤️ Queer romance featuring all relationships from the previous four books ❤️ Third person multiple points of view ❤️ Guaranteed happily ever ❤️ High heat ❤️ Minor suspense element ❤️ Love and emotions ❤️ Found family ❤️ Hurt/comfort
As always, ensure you review the content and trigger warnings to decide if this book is right for you. You can use Amazon's "Read sample" feature to view the warnings. Please take care of yourself while reading.
This was a fun way for Nora to end the series! There was definitely some angst and emotion, but I loved seeing all nine characters settle into their lives and relationship. We got some incredible wedding content with some perfectly steamy wedding nights to follow. A big focus in this book is the ever-evolving dynamics between the original four characters: Noah, Indy, Josh, and Connor. And poor Connor has had a hell of an emotional rollercoaster after he opens up about the loss of his best friend in the previous book and gets some more shocking news in No Angel. I'm a huge fan of how his relationship with Noah, in particular, is developing and I would love to see where they're at now. It was also great to see Josh and Aaron getting along so well, as well as the seven that live together living their best kinky lives.
The last couple chapters were deliciously spicy, but be aware that there is sharing involved. As with the previous books, there was a great emphasis on healthy kink and sexual boundaries in general and I think that's so important. Overall, this was a fun little read and quick in comparison with the other books.
This series, overall, was great! It's quite high heat, I loved the overarching plotlines, and it's so unique to get multiple and evolving perspectives in each book. What a cool series you'll definitely want to check out!
I never thought Nora Phoenix could out-do herself, but with No Angel, she has done just that. I already loved her No Shame series, but No Angel takes it to a whole new level.
Every man in this series is so damn multi-layered, and with this addition to their story, we get even more of their layers. There are so many new needs, wants and desires explored. It is phenomenal!
Normally, a book like this would just catch up with the characters, but Nora goes above and beyond by adding so much more to these already complex characters.
The beauty of this series is the emotions that drives the relationships, and moments. This level of need, love, and tenderness is hard to find in another series. But, these men are more than special, they are a big, messy family who all really work together.
As for Christmas itself, wow, just wow! The depth to which the characters understand each other, desire each other, and offer of themselves to each other is unimaginable. This is, by far, the highlight of the series. And the best part is, after reading the first four books, I didn't need more. I was perfectly content with the story as is. But, this addition to their tale is everything I never expected and never knew I needed. It is perfection for these men.
Thank you Nora Phoenix for the gift of these men, their stories, and this amazing addition to their adventures together. The extent to which these men are revealed to us, the readers, and to each other is unprecedented. Thank you for all you have given us with this accomplished series. I wish I could rate this entire series with 10 stars. I love each and every one of these men.
Damn, I missed this world and these characters so much! No Angel gives us another glimpse into the lives of this unusual (and super kinky) group that has truly become a family. I loved every second of being back with these guys and seeing where they are now.. and the wedding that is beyond perfect for Josh, Connor, Noah, and Indy. I really enjoyed seeing how the dynamic in the house has developed and how open and loving all of the men are, and especially how they support each other in times of need. The way they wish for things to make the others happy (that game, HOLY HOT), the way Connor and Noah step in with Brad when needed, the way Miles steps in for Connor, the way all of them come together to give Connor everything he needs when his world implodes again.. let's just say #familygoals. Nora Phoenix has written these relationships in such a way that it seems impossible to imagine any of them not ending up exactly where they are. And Noah and Connor?! HELL. To. The. YES. Give me more, please. Yes, yes, yes.
This book, while shorter than the main four, still has everything I enjoy about this series in spades: seriously hot scenes with a hefty dose of kink, beautiful friendships and unconditional love, some action and suspense that will keep you glued to the pages, realistically flawed characters, and a chosen family that cannot be torn apart. Add in the holidays and a beautifully unique wedding, and what more could you possibly want??
No Angel is the fifth book in the No Shames series and is more of a follow up to the series as a whole rather than a separate book. This follows all of the characters introduced in the series – Josh, Indy, Noah, Connor, Miles, Brad, Charlie, Aaron, and Blake – and tells more of the story from each of their POVs.
No Angel centers around the holidays and the foursome’s wedding, but by the end of the story, all of the house’s secrets are finally out in the open. Miles, Brad, and Charlie are still working out their dynamics together and how to interact in front of others outside of the house. Connor is dealt a serious personal blow that could have a lot of ramifications, but the whole family closes ranks to support him.
“You’ll find there’s not a more welcoming bunch than these people. They will take you in as one of their own if you’ll accept them as they are.”
I loved the new characters that were introduced (or re-introduced) in this story – Wander, Burke, the new DA, Wander’s security team, etc. – and really hope we get to see more of them in the future. Wander’s immediate assessment of the dynamics in the house was priceless!
This book features just as much love, acceptance, and sexy times as Nora’s other books. Would highly recommend for those that love this series!
Come? Ovviamente giudizio personale.
Emotional rollercoaster that tugs and pulls so strongly at the heartstrings!!! I've loved this series the first, second, and the most recent reread before reading "No Angel: A No Shame Holiday Romance" I loved how No Angel touched upon all of the varities of the awesome men and how each one was loved and accepted for themselves. I cannot wait for the spinoff series coming next year. On a personal note, I grew up in a physical and emotional abusive household but it wasn't all bad. I always thought it had made me a stronger person in all aspects of my life. It wasn't until this last year and a half that I figured out that I wasn't being true to myself within my almost 18 years of marriage and my life so I've been trying to be true to myself and realizing that I'm worthy of being me. This series in a way helped me deal with accepting myself. Thank you Nora Phoenix for putting yourself into all the amazing guys you created!!!
This book was not your typical love story. The family that the author has created is definitely not a typical family. All the different personalities, with their individual needs, just weave themselves together into such a memorable story.
Josh and Indy are very special together. Add Noah and Connor to the mix and it becomes incendiary. This book went in directions I hadn’t anticipated. Some of the bonds that were formed were surprising but exactly as they needed to be to make the story work so well.
If this is the last story the author writes about these characters it was a fulfilling and fitting end. However, I’m pretty sure Wander will finagle his own book at some point!
The series really needs to be read as a whole to understand the complicated relationships involved.
I didn’t want to have to make a comment on every book, but I will to convince people to read this series. With the first one, I started out a little shakey and I was wondering if I would even finish it. Boy did I ever! I think I read these 5 books in 3 days because I was so engrossed in what was going to happen and how everything would work out with them. I think the only book I was annoyed with was with Brad and his angst, but after everything came out, it made sense and they all made it work. I loved everyone’s dynamic and their whole sense of love. I learned a few things in the kink world and I honestly can’t wait until I forget this series so I can read these all over again.
Like what did I just listened to? Seriously. I admire Nora’s imagination. It must be cool to live in her head because the woman has an infinite pool of sex scenes in her mind. 5 books of basically sex, kink sex, daddy/boy sex, blow jobs, couples swapping, spanking, puppy play, snow balling and whatever more you can think of, happened in this series.
Was it hot? It had all the intention of being but iDK, maybe I’ve reached my limit of m/m books because lately everything sound just meh to me. Maybe in this case it could be also the narrator’s fault. I don’t like Kenneth and he kinda didn’t help the whole experience.
But if you are looking for kinky sex and you’re feeling adventurous, by all means, try this series.
