Tall, Dark and Ghostly

William Markham, a merchant captain, is wrongly accused of piracy by Richard Barrons, who hopes to claim the captain's fortune after his death. Hanged for treason, Markham returns to haunt the man who betrayed him, bent on vengeance—and justice. But his spectre is only visible to Lady Arianna Halverson, a gifted psychic sensitive to those who have passed beyond this mortal realm. Now the evil Barrons plots to murder her brother as well—and force Lady Arianna to marry him.

Healed by the magic of her amulet, Captain Markham assumes physical form to battle his nemesis and rescue Lady Arianna. But he cannot stay forever in the land of the living—unless her love can save him...

Lady Arianna Halverson can see ghosts. She has been able to ever since she was a child. She helps ghosts complete their unfinished business so they can move on. Captain William Markham is hung for piracy due to the accusations of his enemy. Will is drawn to Arianna through an amulet and asks her to help him exact his vengeance on his enemy from the grave.

This book was okay. There were times when I was really interested in what was going on and times when I became frustrated with the characters and looked forward to moving on to another book. It was an interesting premise, but I didn't feel the book developed into anything truly special.

Excellent book! The first paranormal I ever read, it's because of Ms. Labud I'm now a fan of the genre.
