Art was more important than anything else for the founder of modern sculpture, who created sculptures that would enjoy a lasting renown, including The Kiss, The Thinker, and The Burghers of Calais . These as well as numerous other sculptures are reproduced here with high-quality photos, showing the whole spectrum of Rodin’s long and productive career.

A true art book. It highlights the most important milestones in the sculptor’s life and includes images of his creations. To me, it feels like a next-level form of art to sculpt so many ideas and emotions;Rodin is a god. Highly recommend:)

Despite what good reads says, this book is written by Daniel Kiecol. It’s a 19 cm x 19 cm 200 page beautifully presented book of art. Showcased is Rodins rendering of perfect emotion and the beauty of the human form in bronze, marble, plaster, drawings and etchings. The text on each page is done in six languages! This is a nice little touch. However someone in the English translation section could not help but place the pun that Rodin’s interest in genitalia meant that he placed an erect penis on his Balzac. The other 5 languages did not render the same guffaws.
