The author of 45 books, Fred James Cook was an American investigative journalist, author and historian who has been published extensively in The Nation, the Asbury Park Press and The New York Times.
Bought at a Dutch auction booksale, because I needed something to read on a long-haul bus trip to Berlin. It caught my attention - in part due to mr. Puzo's recommendation - with the simple, yet striking cover design.
That the contents more than matched the cover only made it better. Even if it is/was a bit dated by the time I acquired it, I still learned a lot from it. Mr. Cook goes into quite gory detail at times, but balances it out with a plethora of facts.
