My name is Ace Bisset, and I've finally embraced what it means to be a witch.
But even with all my newfound power, I still haven't figured out how to break this damned curse. And that's a problem, because time is running out. In order to save the four men I’ve grown to love more than life itself, I have to search deep within my powers and find the key to breaking the dark magic trapping my friends to the night.
But just when I think I might be getting close to breaking the curse, a new big bad comes into town, and he knows a lot about me. Turns out he’s been watching me, waiting for this very moment. If I don’t stop him from carrying out his plans, then it won’t matter if I can break the curse or not.
Because we’ll all be cursed.

JADA STORM is the paranormal and fantasy romance pen name of NYT bestseller Jasmine Walt. She's obsessed with books, chocolate, and sharp objects. Somehow, those three things melded together in her head and transformed into a desire to write, usually fantastical stuff with a healthy dose of action and romance. Her characters are a little (okay, a lot) on the snarky side, and they swear, but they mean well. Even the villains sometimes. When she isn’t chained to her keyboard, you can find her practicing her triangle choke on the jujitsu mat, spending time with her family, or binge-watching superhero shows on Netflix.

Great conclusion to the series, I've thoroughly enjoyed seeing Ace grow into this new life full of magic, supernatural foes, and her four hot men! I'll miss them all...
We’ve reached the last book in Her Dark Protectors series, and I really wish we weren’t. Ace is busy with the case files similar to her parents’ deaths when trouble comes to her. Not only that, she finds out there is a clock ticking on reversing the curse on her men. Will she solve everything in time to save them and solve the old case files? This book was well-written and held my interest from the beginning. I really like the addition of the character Gemma because I can’t stand RH that has no women characters besides the MC; can’t women have multiple male partners and women friends?!? I know she isn’t perfect, but I like her. I also like the mystery in this book, and I really appreciate how fun it was. I wish Ace had learned more about her magic before the end as that would have been interesting, but that in no way detracted from this book. It’s just something I would have liked to see. This book nicely wrapped up the series with everything nicely done up with a bow. However, the way it ended made me really want more! I think the way it ended would make a great new series, one I’d love to see. Curious? Read this and find out! I highly recommend this book! I was provided the e-book which I voluntarily reviewed.
I voluntarily offered to review this book with no obligations and my opinions are honest! It was a great book! This was a nice ending for this series. All the loose ends are resolved, and Ace gets her HEA Loved the characters + the storytelling! It has all the ingredients that you need for a great book! I can't wait for the next book in this series.
True disappointment. It's hard to believe 3 authors were involved. I had high hopes for the whole series since the 1st one was good and the idea so interesting!! But at some point I was already annoyed that *SPOILER* the guys were kept in the curse the whooooole series and it bored me whenever she was "working" and seeing random people I dont remember their relevance at all.
Also what about them being 4 "protectos" and jac being the ONLY one rescuing her all those times?? Also even though I LOVEEE a badass heroine I also LOOOOOOOOVE when the guys are protective and take care of the heroine and we see so little of it in the whole series!! And the series are called "her dark PROTECTORS"
The way the curse was broken got me so confused!! For a second I thought they are making her see a vision and in reality it hasnt happened and then... turns out it did happen?? And all of a sudden the curse is broken and I'm like what? When? How? And the randomness of everything was so confusing I literally had no idea what was going on and things just happened because "why not?" Not for justifiable reasons. Ugh.
The scenes were simply TOO short. It made ir feel like a draft or like a book that could have been published all at once and even so it would have felt drafty...
But in all seriousnes... 3 authors accomplished to write 200 oages? I dont understandddd and I really wanted to like this series :(( I had to paraphrase many things because it was too boring and senseless :(( now I have ti keep looking for something good <\3
So I found this series by accident through Facebook. Received the first book free and just had to keep reading. So each book has a hook that makes you want to keep reading til the end. I’m just thankful it ended happily. Ace Lina is a police officer that lives for her job. When she was a child she lost her parents tragically. Her whole life she feared of getting close to someone and losing them so work was it. She inherits a large historical house from an aunt she has never met. And that is when her life changes forever. Magic, gargoyles, vampires, and anything else paranormal you can think of is all in here. Definitely recommend it. It’s a great series. The journey made me laugh and cry. Characters are really full of personalities that make you reach out and want to hug them. Plenty of sexy time too. Read and enjoy!
While book one started off with such promises, by the time I got half way through this final one I was completely over it. Now even character names are forgotten and changed. Yep, nope! I skipped to the last 4 chapters and called it quits. Sad that the series started off so strong, then crashed and burned. 100% do not reccomend.
*On another note, can we talk about the cover art? One part poorly posed action figure combined with one part untalented artist equals cringy covers. In the case of this series I recommend you definitely judge the books by their covers.
*voluntarily and honestly reviewed the ARC I received from the author*
It's about a 3 - 3.5 for me. The ending's story definitely sounded like an epic thing, but I couldn't click with it. There were three instances when I laughed out loud, and the 'moment' I won't name but will totally be obvious for you actually almost made me cry. But since I brought up obvious things, I also thought the bad guy was a little too obvious, so reading her and the others 'discover' what was really going on wasn't as exciting. Ace seemed a little weird, too, because everything that happened felt... I don't know, it's hard to describe. It's like the story is a map and the plot points are A, B and C, and Ace is following Googles Map. She's getting to the destination, but it doesn't feel like she's doing in on her own. Her actions sound like they're caused by the plot points, rather than the plot points being a reaction to her actions. You get me? "Oh, this guy who may or may not know anything wants to meet up? It's probably a trap but there's nothing else to do so I'm going to go." Like what now?
I'm glad it ended the way it did and I sincerely wish I'd been able to get into this the way it deserved. I wouldn't recommend it to my friends but I think that if you're a new reader who loves paranormal things, you could check this out.
Ace Bisset is a detective and a witch. She has 4 men that she loves a great deal but they are cursed and currently have to turn into something else at night. Time is running out for her to break the curse and they keep being distracted by new bad people committing crimes in the city. In this book there is no exception to that when Ace finds someone who has been watching her. Can she stop him and break the curse in the time she has available?
Wow this was a great final story in the series and had someone suitably evil come and put a major spanner in the works for Ace and the guys. They are going to have to trust each other and work together to try and handle this evil guy who has his own evil agenda. There was lots of passion, emotions and drama in this story which definitely lived up to my expectations of this book and more. I loved the way this story ended and the way the trust relationships between Ace and the guys was central and key to the solution. Well written it was a very enjoyable book to read and if you are new to the series and authors I suggest you give it a try - you won't be disappointed.
The final showdown has come and all will be revealed. Ace must fight harder than she has every fought to save the people she loves and protect the innocent along the way. But that seems to be getting harder to do, the magic just not enough. She will have to dig deep and trust in her self and the family she has created, to work together to defeat and age old enemy that has proven themselves ruthless beyond imagining. If she is lucky they will all come out of this together. I must say it all came together rather quickly in this one. It felt a little rushed and lacks some of the depth the others had. But I still feel it's a four star and I enjoyed it. A conclusion worthy of Ace and her family.
These are one of the best RH series I've had the honour to read
I have waited a long time for this last book. I have enjoyed these books very much, with an amazing leading lady and 4 drop dead gorgeous hunks to fall in love with, who wouldn't want to keep reading. Each book has been written really well with scenes and characters my imagination has been able to conjure up 😉 and has kept me on the edge of my seat wanting more 😊 the only let down for me was in the last book I would of liked a little more romance but who wouldn't lol please give these 4 books ago and you won't regret it.
What a brilliant ending to a superb series. Im sad my journey with Ace and her guys has come to an end. But I'm so glad to have read these books. Not just that but found a new Author to myself. I love the Authors imagination and writing style. Each of these books were written really very well. It sucked you into a new world that was full and dynamic. Each characters personality was portrayed brilliantly you gradually get to know each one personally, almost as if they were real people in the real world. ( If only! )
I highly recommend these as fabulous reads! You won't regret sinking into the words of " Her dark protectors "
I love the story. I love the characters. Unfortunately I couldn't take it any more. If there is one phrase that is so over used in this series...it's "eat/ting me out" seriously like just before about every time they have sex. It's clearly one of the authors favourite phrase but every time i see this it brings up a bit so erotic image of eating out at an all you can eat buffet. I don't care about the unrealism of it...books are fantasy and escaping but even if it were true, there are variations of it or even better terms. I've grimaced but stuck with it all the way through but I just couldn't take it anymore. Not even to find out the mystery surrounding the main character. Sorry.
I’ve enjoyed this series but the end seemed a little rushed? I feel like the curse got broken pretty spontaneously and the loose ends with her mum and aunt werent really tied up. Plus Nick has a ‘girlfriend he moved in with last year’ and is making eyes at Ace for the first two books then all of a sudden he’s with Gemma and it’s HEA? I mean I love they all got there HEA but I’d be a bit sceptical if my friend got with a guy who’s been eyefucking me whilst living with a girlfriend (who we never find out he breaks up with..) but hey, maybe I’m reading too much into that. Overall enjoyed this series though!!
You might want to get comfy, because this book is hard to put down. I loved the unique characters and the great descriptions! Who doesn't try to picture book scenes in their mind as they read? I love Ace, she's smart, crafty, protective, brave and a very determined woman. When she sets her sight on solving a murder, there's nothing that will stop her from getting the culprit! This book is action-packed, with danger, murder, witches, magic, gargoyles, romance, suspense, and twists and turns!
I loved this series so much! Ace is such an awesome detective who is facing the tough decision of continuing to lie to her job to cover her being a witch. When files are given to Ace, including her parents, that shows a demon killed them, she becomes obsessed in finding it. Now she has to deal with a stalker dangling info about this demon in exchange for something she isn’t going to give up. Ace, the guys, and Gemma takes on this guy to finally gets answers. I loved the way this book ended. Can’t wait to see what this author comes out with next
I received Broken by Night as a free copy from the author/publisher. The gifting did not determine the review/rating, which reflects my honest opinion.
In a word, awesome. Lots of action and steady pacing kept me glued to the plot. I really like these characters, and the writer spins a wonderful tale around her engaging heroine, Ace, and her men. Great plot (a continuation from prior book) with a few really nice twists, especially toward the end.
Just this second finish the final book Ace and the guys final book in their series. I truly enjoyed them all especially that it was different from all the other reverse harem stories out there in that it was about cursed gargoyles! I fell in love right along with Ace for all four of "her" guys. Trust me in saying you wont be disappointed. Now get to reading!! 😘
This fourth and final book in this series was truly excellent! The action was nonstop and all questions from the first three books were answered. The curse was broken in a very surprising way. I think the best thing about this book was the fact there was more story and not as much of the sexual content. Only skipped two pages instead of half a book. Really enjoyed this series!
5 stars for Broken by Night by Jasmine Walt and Emma Stark. This is book 4 and the final book in the Her Dark Protector series. The guys could be running out of time and someone is out to get them. I will say Ace is becoming a real bada** witch and will do anything to make the ones after them pay. The ending to this book was fantastic and shows you what lengths people will go to just to get power.
3.5 Stars is what I would prefer to give the final book in the series, but decided to change it to 4 stars, given how engaging the story line was in the first two chapters.
The ending was good. Similar to how I thought it would end but I was still pleasantly surprised to realise I wasn't completely correct. The Author's ending is a lot better - although I was disappointed that the main protagonist didn't save her Mom from what I perceived as purgatory. She was left in the gray realm.

Another good installment of this series. The intrigue is getting thicker and relationships are being tested and strengthened. Who can Ace trust ? Four devilish men who protect her at all costs ? Her coworkers? Neighbors? The storyline keeps you on the edge of your seat and we continue to get to know about Ace and the four handsome protectors. This book has intrigue, mystery and spicy romance all wrapped up and still keeps you wanting more of the story
This was a spectacular end to this series! I loved how the story wrapped up, but it’s not airtight so mayyybeeee in the future it could be added to! I love the solid storytelling, the memorable characters, and the deceptively simple story that morphs into a super twisty, rollicking read! Loved it and thank you for the opportunity to review this gem!
I fell completely in love with this series and waited on pins and needles for each book to come out. I have not been disappointed and you will not be either. The excitement, the laugher, the twists and turns, and the sex (can’t leave that out 😏). This series has it all! Just buy it already!
This was my favorite book in the series. I do wish that more would've been revealed about her mom and aunt. I did find it frustrating that Ace would often make plans and then just abandon them with no further explanation. And I also noticed that the name of one of the "bad guys" was changed in this book. A little confusing but she didn't really play a big enough part for it to be an issue but I'd think it's definitely worth an edit. Overall nice read.
Ace is one of those women who has been through struggles, but those struggles turned into something much stronger. Her growing and accepting life as it happens is amazing. The other characters help grow her personally and support her when she needs it. Awesome read. Thoroughly enjoyed it and her gargoyles!
I completely enjoyed this whole series. Ace is a kickass woman as a cop and as a newly discovered witch. The RH aspect is perfectly meshed with darn good plot and well defined characters. The continuity was seamless and the suspense felt real. I feel my time has been well spent.
Imagine being a cop who investigates strange things and then finding out you have magical powers. And oh yeah you inherit a house with 4 creepy looking gargoyles who somehow come to life at night. That is Ace and she falls in love with all 4 of them. The sex is super hot too.
I have read aLl of the books and I am satisfied with what I read it keep me intrigued a so easy to read i love it and now I'm a big fan now looking for more books by the author
I would keep reading books be you Because you write about things I am interested in. So keep going on strong
A fantastic end to such a wonderful series! I just finished the final book in the Her Dark Protectors series and I must say, this is such a wonderful way to end it! I really enjoyed following Ace in her story to help others and save her family. After all, family is everything, and Jac, Thomas, Gil, and Hasan are just that.
The whole series had me hooked from start to finish as soon as I finished one book I would go straight to the next, brilliant mix of good versus evil both human and non human with a fabulous heroine and four incredibly sexy heros, what I wouldn't give to be in Aces shoes 😉
