Interesting book that tells the story of one important scientific discovery, but also shows more generally how the scientific method works (and can be exciting and important). Also made me want to go dust my house immediately 🤣

A short, interesting book detailing how Louis Pasteur discovered "germs" or microbes, which led to the process of pasteurization. His efforts began as he researched tainted fermented sugarbeets. (The book also has lots of illustrations.)

Geared to upper elementary and up, but I learned a lot myself.

Not outstanding but also not horrible. The writing style doesn’t flow well, yet we learned quite a bit!

Mikropların nasıl keşfedildiğini öğreten güzel ve etkileyici bir hikayeydi. Eğitici ve öğretici bir kitap. Bilmeyenlere öneririm. Çizimleri de çok başarılıydı.

A pretty good book about Luis Pasteur. It’s short and has a lot of pictures, so it’s good if you want a quick, informative book. Recommended for grades 3-6.

What a cool book! Very informative and kept my 6-year-old’s attention. He is now able to tell me, generally, about yeast and microbes.

Well written with thoughtful illustrations that do a great job of presenting the information in the accompanying text. Leaves you with a clear sense of what a vast impact Pasteur had on our understanding of our world, especially our understanding of microscopic elements that fundamentally impact human health and survival. Inspires future exploration of Pasteur's work.

Although the book was meant for teens, I learned a lot from it. I like that the book focused on one particular aspect of Pasteur's life and didn't try to be a comprehensive but shallow biography.

The illustrations were also good.

Part of our NOEO Biology curriculum. This book surprised me. Fantastic introduction to the subject as told through a biography. This was one of those books that you were to read 10 pages a day for a week, but instead we read it through in one setting....twice.

It was a great book and it helped me learn about microbes. And how microbes can grow through air because of dust flowing through the air and it can kill chemicals in alcohol stop the process. Microbes can rarely grow in the alcohol in the cold.

This was a great little book, telling us the story of the discovery of microbes. It was a nice little glimpse into how a scientist goes about testing and retesting his theories...

A short but detailed book about Pasteur and how he discovered and studied microbes and the amazing impact that discovery has had on the scientific community and our lives today.
