I have a big reputation, a big fire truck and a big hose…one that doesn’t hook up to a hydrant. Men in town envy me. Who wouldn’t? I’ve got women lining up to slide down my pole. I’m living a bachelor’s dream.
And then a new girl moves into town…and suddenly everything I’ve always thought about relationships goes up in flames.
Hope
I’ve moved halfway across the country for a new start after being burned by a charming bad boy.
I have two goals. Thirty minutes of set-the-sheets-on-fire sex to relieve me of my near-virgin status. Then I get serious about finding the perfect dad for my son.
And all that will work out perfectly when my foolish heart stops wanting the same thing as my va-jay-jay…the notorious playboy in town.
For women who fantasize about dirty-talking, cocky, larger than life, alpha heroes with BIG………egos. What did you think I was going to say?
I have to say that I extremely enjoyed Mari Carr’s sense of humor In Up in Flames. The story was lighthearted with a little bit of drama. But, some of the things that came out of Jake’s mouth truly had me laughing out loud and I had no idea how Hope was going to take him.
I totally respected Jake. He owned his status as Big Hose but he also knew that there was so much more to himself than that. He needed to find a way for people to take him seriously and was trying his hardest to live down his reputation. Then he met Hope and he hoped like hell that she got to know him and not his reputation. He was there for her and for George whether she wanted him there or not. Then the inevitable happens and he has to prove to her that he’s not the man that the rumor mill has made him out to be.
Hope just needs a new start in life for her and George. It took me a while to warm up to her. I wasn’t sure if she was just shy, wishy-washy or just wanted to keep the peace. But, she came through in the end and finally proved her worth to me. She listened to everyone but Jake and that just aggravated me. In the end, she grew on me and I enjoyed reading her. And, you couldn’t help but fall in love with George and his missing teeth.
A single mom and a player. Probably not what you would picture but it worked. Like I said I really enjoyed the banter throughout the story. “Just the tip” had me truly laughing. I loved the way she wrote Jake and made him fun-loving, responsible and cute. I wish Hope had been a stronger woman and stand up for what she wanted, to tell the truth about how she felt about Jake, cut the rumors down and listened instead of assuming. You know what assuming does to relationships. But Mari Carr made her work too. They were both surrounded by characters that you grew to either love or hate (there has to be one you hate) and they truly added to the story.
Up In Flames was and entertaining, enjoyable read that had characters that you could relate to and enjoy reading. A little bit of humor, a bit of angst and a lot of love.
Jake was known as the bad boy in town who had his pick at any single woman. He was a huge commitmentphobe and was the first one out the door after a steamy night. But that all change when he meets Hope and her 5-year-old son George.
Hope is the good girl, she is all about her job and her son. She is looking for a stable man with a good job and who would be a good role model for her son. But then she meets Jake also nicknamed the big hose in town. He is everything she isn't looking for but that doesn't mean her body is listening when he is close.
What happens when the single mom meets the towns, bad boy?
Jake and Hope was such a good fit and you just knew from the beginning they should be together. They both have such a big heart and I just couldn't help but smile when I read this book. They just filled me with joy.
So do you need a book that is an easy read, filled with some steamy sex, a nosy town and a little bit of drama then this is your book
Hope moved to Bootlick, Kansas, a small town, from Harrisonburg, Virginia, a month ago; after landing her first teaching assignment. She hadn’t known a soul in town when she pulled up to the rental home she had found online, every single thing she possessed in her Volkswagen Jetta and the small U-Haul she’d towed halfway across the country. She’d started work two days after arriving in town and hadn’t had time to unpack properly or even assemble the new furniture she’d purchased, every spare moment at home spent planning lessons for the next day. Bootlick wasn’t much bigger than a cigar box, and it had become apparent, fairly early on, that her best chance of meeting people was at school. The school nurse, Ada, had introduced herself the first day and taken pity on Hope. Ada was a born and bred Bootlicker—a name she’d disturbingly given herself—and she had taken Hope under her wing, filling her in on who was who and what was where. So it was Ada who’d warned her when the field trip to the fire station was approved that Jake Garrett was the hottest commodity in town, as well as the resident bad boy. She said he would lay on the charm, with the single goal of getting into Hope’s pants.
Hope knew Jake’s type—intimately. She searched the faces of the children who surrounded Jake, all of whom were hanging on his every word, and found him. George. Her number one reason for resisting the playboy firefighter pulling out all the flirting stops, with his “look how great I am with kids” grin and the subtle flexing of his biceps as he lifted himself up on the side of the fire truck to point out the tower ladder. Unfortunately, looking at George didn’t help because her son was staring at Jake like he was a flipping Avenger, the god of thunder, and the fire ax Jake had slung over his shoulder was Thor’s goddamn hammer. George wanted a dad. Hope knew that. The poor kid practically salivated when it came to male attention. The problem with giving the kid what he wanted meant she had to find a way to resist guys like Jake and seek out a decent, respectable man. She needed someone who was serious about his career, responsible with money, and loved George.
Jake is the town playboy.
He probably needed to stop picking up women at bars. He didn’t mention that he’d been in this house countless times before. His great aunt had lived here up until she died and his uncle Louis had inherited it. The last tenant had been a young widow and she and Jake had enjoyed more than a few wild nights together in this house before she decided to move to Kansas City.
Hope hadn’t been in town more than a month and the local gossips had clearly managed to fill her in on Jake’s sexual exploits. Jake had lived in Bootlick his whole life, and living in a cracker box with the same people meant nobody had a secret. And when the secret was a big one, a twelve-inch whopper, word got around, women got curious. He used to get a kick out of his big hose. It made him a legend in Bootlick. But lately, it had stopped feeling cool. As his reputation grew, so did the invitations. He liked women and he liked sex, but recently he’d begun feeling more as a freak show attraction.
The women who’d been inviting him to their beds the past few months wanted bragging rights, a chance to say they took a ride on the bad fireman’s pole. Jake was tired of that game. So, for the first time in his life, he’d become celibate. He hadn’t slept with a woman in nearly six months—a record for him since he’d lost his virginity sophomore year with a senior and captain of the cheer squad, in the back seat of her dad’s Buick. She’d been so impressed with his equipment, she had instigated the locker room talk. He’d been volunteering at the fire station since he was a freshman, so between that and Donna, his reputation as Big Hose had been born.
The first thing he noticed was she wasn’t kidding about the bed frame defeating her. Pieces of it were strewn all around the room, nuts and bolts scattered as well. That was the first thing he saw. The second—and more interesting—was the nice-sized ‘cucumber’ next to her bed- enough said.
Her friend Ada (his best friendIke’s sister) said that he has a ‘hot mess’ of a family adding his family dynamics impacting his ability to make long-term commitments. His mum and dad split when he was six. He was the only child from their marriage. His father remarried three months after the divorce was final and had two more children with his stepmum, Bernice. Bernice caught him in bed with her hairdresser—and they divorced. He married the hairdresser, Scarlett, who graduated from high school a year ahead of him. Meanwhile, his mum married her boss at the insurance agency, Harold, ten years before, after test-driving a ton of boyfriends. They also have children together. So there are five half siblings, three stepparents, and he went to high school with his most recent step-mum.
“Wow. I guess I can see why you’re still single.” She’d meant her words as a joke, but Jake didn’t take it that way. His face sobered and he nodded slowly. “Exactly. When I do get married, I’m going to be damn sure I’m marrying the right woman. Divorce sucks.”
Hope hadn’t dated since George was born. Jake wished his parents had been as considerate with their revolving door of lovers through his childhood. While his father had more wives, his mum had done her fair share of dating, auditioning quite a few “uncles” before deciding Harold could support her the way she wanted—with a new car every few years and diamonds for Christmas.
“You’re beautiful, Hope.” Jake had told other women that in the past, too many to count, but none of them held a candle to Hope. “I bet you say that to all the girls.” Of course, she called him on it. She had a way of reminding both of them of his reputation—well-earned—as a playboy. He was starting to wonder if some of her comments were more for her than for him.
They had a picnic in his lounge with KFC, laid down a blanket on the floor, and he even put limes in the Corona. It was sweet and romantic. Eating dinner topless. Unhygienic.
After dinner, they moved to his bedroom. He handcuffed her to his headboard, pleasuring her, three times. When she admitted she wanted to have sex with him, he said he didn’t think they should. He said something about her practically being a virgin—” “Which you are,” she interjected. “I’ve had a kid, for God’s sake.” “You had very bad, very quick sex once. And then a C-section. Trust me, angel, you are as close to a virgin as they come.” “He said I needed to trust him. Then he raced out of the bedroom like there was a bomb in the bed. I followed him to the bathroom because I wanted to finish the argument. I could hear…it sounded like he was jerking off. When I tried to turn the knob, the door was locked. He doesn’t want me, Ada. He just made an excuse to get out of the bed because he doesn’t want to be with me.” “Do you know why everyone calls him Big Hose?” “Because he’s a firefighter.” “Damn, I thought you got it.” “Got what?”
Women sleep with him because of his reputation and for bragging rights. The nice women avoid him…during high school, he enjoyed the reputation and the rumours. Considering the fact his dad changes wives often, they all assumed he was like his father.
Jake hadn’t told her he didn’t want to get married. His exact words were something along the lines of he wasn’t getting married until he was sure he’d met the right one. “He got a kick out of all the talk. Swaggered around like a big shot. Guys were always slapping him on the back and buying him drinks. A lot of women were throwing themselves at him. The respectable women stayed away. The stories about how big he was paired with the womanizer history didn’t make him a great bet. I mean…who would sign up for something like that?” “Jake’s always been pretty transparent. He hooks up with a woman for a week or two and then he moves on. The dates and the picnic, the holding back from sex? This is uncharted territory. I mean…given what you told me about tonight, I’d say he’s trying to be a gentleman.
After their night together, she sees suggestive texts from Lauren, convincing her that he’s sleeping with the other woman, her arch enemy. Lauren’s snide comments about Hope’s wardrobe and her good girl persona had grown to outright bullying. The woman genuinely hated her. Which was fine because Hope wasn’t fond of Lauren either.
So when he’d looked at Hope and asked why she wasn’t considering him for the position of husband and father, she’d laughed—out of anger and nervousness. She hadn’t cried in front of Alan, and she’d be damned if she did it in front of Jake. It meant holding on to her last shred of dignity. The second she did it though, and she saw his face, she’d sensed that she’d hurt him, far worse than he had hurt her.
Planning to speak to him, she sees Lauren exiting his place, doing the walk of shame.
Ada had clearly chosen her side and it was Hope’s. Ada, like everyone else in town, had tucked Jake neatly into the bad boy box. A place he’d resided since he was fifteen. Not that he could blame anyone for that. After losing his virginity, he’d embraced sex with a fervour that was decidedly unhealthy. An insatiable lust combined with his family history painted a picture of him he hadn’t bothered to change. Until a year ago, he’d been proud, figuring it made him smarter than the poor schmucks who’d tied themselves to one woman for the rest of their lives.
Ike didn’t know because Jake hadn’t known how to talk about it—was how he truly felt about Hope. His best friend didn’t have a clue that he’d fallen in love for the first time in his life. “What are you talking about?” Jake asked. “Just answer me this first…how drunk were you, man?” “What the hell are you talking about?” “Lauren.” “What about Lauren?” Jake asked. “Last Saturday night? Only thing I can figure is you were drunk as a skunk. Although, in all honesty, I didn’t think there was enough booze in the world to make you sleep with Lauren Roberts.” “I was in Kansas City Saturday night. Took Scotty to a Chiefs game for his birthday. We got a hotel room, then hit the stadium early on Sunday to meet up with some buddies of mine from the station over in Lawrence.
“So you’re Lauren Roberts’ booty call.” Ernie’s grin was genuine delight. He was a good-looking guy, in a buff, surfer-dude kind of way. He was a local and younger than Jake and Ike by about five years. No doubt Lauren had been the fantasy girl in Ernie’s wet dreams when he hit puberty. “You know there’s no sex allowed in the bunk room,” Ike reminded him. “Yeah. I know. I’m sorry about that. You’re not gonna write me up, are you?” “No. But next time, do the hookup at your place.” “I live with my mom.” Ernie was clearly upset to lose the bunk room. “This place isn’t your bachelor pad. Go to Lauren’s.” “She lives with her folks too!” Jake rolled his eyes. “She’s got a whole damn wing in that monstrosity to herself. Her dad won’t even know you’re there.” “She doesn’t want people to know about us. That’s why this place works so well. If anyone sees her leaving, they’ll just think she spent the night with you.”
And that was the problem. “No more, Ernie. I mean it. Lauren’s spent her last night in this station. Got it?”
“Yeah. I’m not sure what Hope wanted to talk about Sunday morning, but her rejection came before that.” “You’re in love with the kindergarten teacher.” “Doesn’t matter. It was over before she saw Lauren sneaking out of here the other morning. She’s looking for a different kind of guy. She wants a grown-up, someone who’ll be a good dad to her son, not some well-hung firefighter with a shitty reputation when it comes to commitment.” “You’re selling yourself short, Jake. You’re great with kids. You’ve got a steady job and while you seem to think divorce and infidelity are hereditary, I’m here to tell you they aren’t. You’re not going to make the same mistakes your parents made because, unlike them, you’ve learned from them.” (Childhood should be positive and nurturing).
“Did the two of you sleep together?” Ike asked. He nodded. “I thought Ada filled you in on everything.” “No. Sounds like I got limited information and only from the one source. Hope was okay with…” Ike gestured toward Jake’s crotch. “That wasn’t a problem.”
Until they met you, he was happy hanging out at the bars with his friends, casually hooking up with indiscriminate women, never forming an emotional attachment. The second things took a serious turn, he made a hasty retreat. “Why? It’s obvious you’re great with kids, and I think you’ll make an amazing husband one day too.” He wasn’t much older than George when his parents split. After that, it was a revolving door in terms of step-mums and his mum’s boyfriends. She’d start dating all these guys and…he was just like George in a lot of ways. A tomboy with unlimited energy. Her boyfriends would use him to win her over. Playing catch, buying me toys and ice cream, taking him to ball games. Exposed to continuous sexual escapades, he’s conditioned to reject the mere idea of relationships.
Lauren was a calculating shrew, for someone in her mid-twenties her behaviour was churlish and immature.
“How do you know it was all just an act? How do you know they didn’t really care about you?” “Because the second she dumped them, they dumped me.”
I like when a book surprises me and I enjoy it. Ada was a wonderful friend and added much needed animation to the story. I like Hope, she could have easily been portrayed as weak, instead she assumed responsibility for her past mistakes.

Jake is a total player. He is hot, smooth and totally equipped to meet any woman’s needs. Hope is inexperienced, sweet and definitely not immune to Jake’s charms. However, Jake wants more and this time, he’s got to have to work for it. Absolutely loved George and his star eyed love for Jake. Just so sweet.
Hope has moved cross country with her young son George for a new start. One of the first people she meets is Jake, the firefighter. Both are looking for a fresh start, maybe with each other?
must read ... great humorous series!! well done! don't get me wrong ...this was hilarious!! but the 1st one was a bit more funny??! i love Blake's writing style. so funny ... this was hot and steamy ... really enjoy this series ... can't wait til the next one ... MUST READ!!! u will love it!! go check it out you will love this series!! ( ;
Up in Flames by Mari Carr is a hot standalone single-mom and firefighter story. Jake “Big Hose” Garrett has been living with that overly descriptive moniker for ages. It doesn’t help that he’s a firefighter and his hometown won’t let him live down his youthful embrace of many indiscretions. Hope Connor and her son George are new to town. A near virgin, she’s focused on taking the best care of her son, and potentially finding someone who would consider being a good father to him. She figures her own needs are much less of a priority.
Ms Carr does a terrific job with Jake and Hope and George, and their friends. They share some incendiary chemistry, and really burn up the sheets. I got somewhat frustrated with the level of misunderstanding keeping these two apart, but as a whole, Up in Flames is an entertaining scorcher!

Great although a little predictable 4.5 I really liked this romance and the style of the author. The story remains simple, but I appreciated that, although the narrative seems geared towards and by the heroine Hope, one of the points that guides the relationship is the way the rumor carries the reputation of the hero Jake, which he wants to get rid of and that is not true for several months. His self-reflection and empathy with Hope about this reputation (he understands that she refuses to go out with him because of it) are very well described in the story. Added to this are some misunderstandings and twists that keep this romance attractive. Hope is new to a small Kansas town and is a kindergarten teacher in her son's class. During a visit to the fire station, she meets Jake, nicknamed "Big hose" because of its attributes. Hope thinks he's nicknamed that because he's a firefighter. When Jake understands that he will be able to get closer to someone he appreciates, without supporting his reputation as a player or as a phenomenon in bed, he chooses to try to go out with her. However, on the other hand, Hope does not want a player near her son, until she tells herself that she should enjoy Jake at least one night because she only slept once, 6 years ago and she became pregnant. So Jake must prove to Hope that he's better than one night and that he wants more, while preparing her for what she will have in bed. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book
Hope Connor is a single mom who came to Bootlick, Kansas for their one and only kindergarten teacher position. She got pregnant from her first and last sexual experience with a womanizing frat boy and refuses to make that mistake again.
Jake 'Big Hose' Garrett is a fireman and resident, bad boy in town. His parents wild ways left him less than willing to settle down with any one woman.
Hot sexy fireman can't help flirting with little miss innocent school teacher. He's been wanting change and she's the first woman who's ever made him want more than a few nights in bed. She hasn't taken any time for herself in six years, until Jake sets everything on fire.
These two are steaming hot and sweet, when they aren't letting misunderstandings get in their way. A feel good, light hearted, fun romance for you to enjoy.
A perfect story to read...”while you get your pipes cleaned.” In a story where hoses, pipes, balls and polls are words sprinkled throughout this is another romcom by Blake Wilder in her Size Matters Series. Hope, the kindergarten teacher, along with George, her five year old son move to Bootlicker, Kansas because she accepted a teaching job. While on a field trip to the fire station she meets the only full time firefighter, Jake aka Big Hose. He flirts. She rejects. He ends up playing ball with son and so starts their relationship, which is dealing with miscues and reputations. I liked this relatively short story. It was very well written with an engaging plot and characters. There was a perfect supporting cast of Ada and even snotty Lauren. We all know someone like her. Definitely recommending this book for your reading pleasure and enjoyment. Looking forward to the next book in the series, Big Balls. I am leaving this review for your consideration.
If you've read my reviews before you know that I'm not a big fan of first person POV because I just prefer third person better. There's only one author that writes in first person that I actually like but I am happy to say that Blake Wilder will now be another author I will happily read even though she writes in first person POV. Big Hose was a funny and cute romance that was also sexy as hell. Told from dual POVs of the two main characters, Jake and Hope, this story flowed really well for me. A pretty quick read that was filled with some very naughty and sexy scenes as well as some really heartbreaking moments, all because of a lack of communication but that's what the story needed to make it so good. And since the end had an HEA that will melt your heart, all was forgiven for the miscommunication between Jake and Hope. If you're looking for a fun and overall lighthearted romance, then Big Hose is what you need to read.
This is an entertaining story about a fire fighter and a single mom who are at cross purposes – he’s tired of his playboy ways and is looking for something more, and she’s looking for a casual fling before settling down with Mr. Responsible. I enjoyed Jake’s alpha tendencies and his persistence in chasing Hope knowing she could be his future. Will he be able to convince her that he’s someone to rely on before his bad boy reputation influences her in a negative way? It was refreshing to have his perspective on his reputation and his treatment by the local women. The story is well written and the characters are charming – especially Hope’s young son George. There are plenty of seriously steamy scenes, some flirty banter, plus a bit of drama along with some angst.

This has everything I look for in a romance! Hope is a single mom with very little experience. She just wants to raise her sweet boy George and give them both a good life, including a respectable husband/father figure. Hope is very certain that’s not Jake, the fun, flirty, firefighter, playboy of their small town.
But what Hope doesn’t know is that Jake was only holding on to his bachelorhood until the right woman came along.
Jake is what every hero should be. He was light hearted and funny. He was sexy and he was so good and sweet to his woman. He was respectful and attentive. He was also “packing” if you get my meaning (wink wink). But most of all he fought for what he wanted, especially when faced with the fact no one is promised tomorrow. He fought for the life he wanted with Hope and George.
Hope moves to a small town with her son, and the local man-whore decides it might be nice to have a woman want him for his personality rather than his 'big hose'. He tries to get Hope to date him, but she's wary of his reputation. Of course, he eventually wears her down.
This is a pretty low-angst, light-on-drama romance. There's an OW who crushes on Jake and causes some misunderstandings, but the author handles them well, and they don't feel super cliché or eye-rollingly ridiculous.
Overall, I enjoyed it. There were a few funny spots, and both of the MCs were likable. I did have a little problem with Hope wanting to go straight to condom-less sex knowing that Jake was the town bicycle. It seemed out of character for a single mother who got pregnant the first time she ever had sex.
Jake has a reputation. He is bachelor and has always loved the bachelor life. Quick connections and no commitments. Jake was a man with a big heart. His past was messy with added to his being against commitments, Hope is new in town. She heard and believed all the rumors about Jake. When they meet, Jake realizes it's time to grow up and settle down. He must convince Hope that he is the man she needs to be with and that will make a good father for her son. Hope has experience the playboy persona with her son'e father. She is not looking for a repeat performance. Insecurities and jealousy work against them. A little more communication would have saved a lot of stress. cute story

A new author to me. A delightful rom com. This story is about Sebastian and Lila. Lila is recently down on her luck, and turns to controlling billionaire Sebastian who liked her when they were kids. Lila desperately needs a job and asks Sebastian but he is still bitter towards her for the way she treated him years ago,. He doesn’t want to hire her but creates a non-job with the most outrageous working conditions, secretly hoping he can force her to quit. Once Lila is on to him, she then creates a series of hilarious pranks as payback. Loved their banter and antics.

A cute story that is well written and has a nice storyline and plot. I like the characters but would have liked them to have more communication and less doubts. They develop nicely through the story. A story that flows well of the pages. It is fun and romantic but the heroin annoyed me a times with her believing all the romours instead of asking him. A story written in dual POV which gave the reader more of the thoughts and feelings of the main characters and made it more realistic. Recommendable read.
This was okay i thought Jake was a good reformed guy once he met Hope and cared that she was listening to those "Manwhore" rumors.. when well he was a manwhore.. he didn't want to be that man anymore.. he wanted to be the man Hope wanted.. as for Hope.. i wished she would have talked to him before jumping and leaving and believing every rumor.. misunderstandings happen.. lots of pun jokes
Low angst, no om mentions of ow from his past and one ow he never slep with causing trouble, dramaish, secondary chara, sexy times

This is the first book I've read by this author and I thought it was good. I would say it is a standalone as I didn't have any trouble figuring out what was going on. It was a cute story of a romance between single mother/teacher Hope and firefighter Jake. There were plenty of laughs throughout, as well as some steamy moments. It also showed the importance of communication in a relationship and not listening to rumors. I liked it and would read more by this author. *I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. This is my honest review.*
This was an amazing book by Blake Wilder. Jake has a playboy reputation in his small town of Bootlick He has women in town lining up to spend a night with him. Hope has just moved to town with her little boy George. She has already been warned of Jake's bad boy reputation. The last thing Jake wants is a relationship but Hope is different. He can't get her out of his head. Hope is looking for a stable guy who can be a father for George. Will the sexy firefighter with the big hose tame his ways to win the heart of woman he realizes he has fallen for?
3.5 stars. Jake is known in town for his playboy reputation and “Big Hose”. He’s tried of the same ole same ole he’s looking for something different. Jake is unsure of how to pursue a female on the long term because of his reputation and family life. Hope comes to town for a fresh start. She has a son and is determined to find stability and long term for them. I thought the story was cute. I found it predictable but it worked well for the plot. I thought the supporting characters were great. Quick easy read with a feel good feel to the story.

Ok so these are really a series they are stand alone books none of the characters meet in them. I’m not really sure how they are in a series except the same authors wrote them. I liked this one it was cute and funny. I mean a little unrealistic but hey that’s romance right? I loved how she didn’t take his crap she wanted to be a good mom and put her kid first. I mean yeah she did totally want him but she knew it wasn’t his thing for long term. He decided he wanted to try something new the big hose rep was killing him and he wanted the long term thing. It was a cute short read.
This book was written well it just wasn't for me. I didn't like either of the Main characters. The H was a manwhor** I mean right in the first chapter one of the little girls in the class asks when he's going to have another sleepover with her mom. That's just such a turn off for me they live in a small town I don't want to date someone that literally everyone has had a taste of. The h was too sweet virgin Mary for me. Even her clothes were described so conservative and ugly. This combo is such a pet peeve of mine which is why this book wasn't for me.
This book was a lot of fun. Tongue-in-cheek humor and plenty of innuendo had me smiling and chuckling as I read Hope and Jakes story. That is not to say that this read is one dimensional because it is not. The book inspired plenty of other emotions as these two worked toward a HEA with many misunderstandings and lots of emotional turmoil. I thought that this was a very enjoyable romance. This is my honest, voluntary review.
Oh my gosh this book was awesome! Hope is the new kindergarten teacher and Jake is the hot firefighter. Jake has a reputation and women like to talk about his appendage. His amazing appendage. But for the first time in his life he’s not thinking about that well not much. This book is another funny book in this series of books. Sometimes it’s fun to read romance that is not so serious.

A sweet story about how assumptions, reputations, and insecurities can make one make poor choices. Hope and Jake find themselves facing all this and more. Who doesn’t love a good tale of a reformed womanizer and the woman who helps him realize what the future could be. You will get instantly immersed into life in Bootllick, Kansas.
