FORGET EVERYTHING YOU’VE HEARD I’m Eiley Murphy and my life is spiraling out of control. I’ve renamed the male lead in my ballet company “Bitcherina,” yes, I’m the principal female dancer, but right now, that’s not going so pretty good. As a matter of fact, I don’t know if I’ll have a job next week. And, the gorgeous distraction to end all distractions has finally noticed me after a year of drooling over him from afar. You’d think that would be a good thing, but Trey, William Cuthbert Layton III – for real – gets around a bit too much, if you know what I mean, and I see nothing but heartbreak in my future. So I obsess, and confess all to my sisters and my BFs, Brett and Valerie. Frankly, everyone’s pretty sick of me right now, so Trey better get himself together since I’m about ten minutes away from doing something even more stupid than usual.
I'm 3/4 through this book. Yesterday, I came to an intense (funny) scene that made me stop, close my eyes and say to myself "OMG!" Any book that can make me do that is definitely worth reading! Kudos to the author for making it so real to life! Can't wait for more books!
This book is laugh-out-loud funny! Reminded me of all the crazy things my friends and I got up to in college. The main character tries hard to be serious and perfect but she just keeps messing things up. From her dance career to her love life, she is having a hard time keeping it all together, so she tries cyber stalking, car appropriation, pink lipstick, and flashing, to get the attention of the man she has been lusting over. It goes just about as well as you'd think. A modern day Lucy, with a side order of bacon and one very steamy guitar player. Highly recommend!!
If you are looking for a beach read, look no further! Such a great book. So excited for the series. It's quirky and romantic and weird and funny and endearing (and there's a GW reference so that gets bonus points from me). Once I started it, I was lost in it and didn't want to put it down.
Funny, steamy and well-written. This is the kind of book you start and don't want to put down. The main character, Eiley, is a mess, and I laughed out loud at some of the situations she gets herself into, but her awkward adorkable-ness (yes, I know that's not a word) is endearing and you can't help but like her and cheer her on. As smart and funny as any Janet Evanovich book I've read (which is a huge compliment because I love Evanovich books), and steamier to boot. You won't be disappointed.
