Former Navy SEAL Roger Jolly is thrust into a life or death situation during a six-day camping and rafting excursion.

Jolly, now an outdoor adventure guide, sets out in a trip with eleven passengers and his former SEAL brother. He meets a beautiful woman, Jeannie Jenkins, and a budding romance begins. On day two of the trip, an unknown assailant wounds two of the passengers, sinks their boats and cuts off their communication to the outside world, trapping them on a river bank miles from civilization. With his back against the wall, Jolly and Jeannie make a break for it, drawing the shooter's attention away from the rest of the group. They raft down Devil's Fork, a forbidden section of the river with ominous, unpassable rapids.

Jolly must solve the mystery of the shooter, protect Jeannie and navigate the dangerous rapids, all with a skilled sniper in hot pursuit. Devil's Fork combines tender romance with nail-biting action.

I am new to writing romance, though I have written professionally in the media world for over 15 years. My first published novel, Searching for Honor, went to #1 on the entire Amazon KindleWorlds network and held the position for three weeks.

When I'm not writing I am spending most of my time with family. With two children and two grandchildren my life is hopping.

I just celebrated my 40th wedding anniversary.

Devil’s Fork: Brotherhood Protectors World is written by Jesse Jacobson. This is a very suspenseful book but has some things I am deathly afraid of in it. Claustrophobia is one thing and fear of heights and water are two more. Danger is all around them.
Jolly Roger was an ex-SEAL who was still looking for a place in real life. Currently, he was a guide for the Mountaineer Expedition Company along with his friend Toejam. They took groups out for long rafting trips that took 3-4 days as well as day trips. This trip was one of the longer ones. It consisted of four couples and a family of three. The Father was an overbearing know-it -all who expected to be waited on hand and foot. His daughter, in her twenties, was beautiful and very attractive to the men on the trip, especially to Jolly. However, he and Jennie decided to postpone anything between them for after the trip. Her Father didn’t believe them. Jennie told Jolly that her Father was working on a big project that was secret and the trip was to be relaxation. If he didn’t slow down, it definitely would not mend his mood.
It was only when a sniper started shooting at them that they knew they were in trouble. Toejam took the passengers except Jennie downstream to get help while Jolly and Jeannie took the other branch of the river to distract the shooter. It led to Devil’s Fork which was an immensely dangerous rapid. It was of limits to everyone due to its dangerous moods. Could Jolly keep her safe and get her out of the path of trouble?

Devil’s Fork is Jesse’s next installment in the Brotherhood Protectors’ World and it is an exciting, adventure that will have your adrenaline pumping for sure. From annoying wealthy clients who demand their way, smart mouth banter between friends, a possible budding romance, secrets and lies, unknown assailants sneaking around camp, attempted kidnapping, a white water rafting adventure, bullets flying, a couple of surprise twists and life and death situations, this story will definitely hold your attention from the beginning. The characters are interesting and the storyline entertaining. The only thing that made me frown a little was the ending. I wish it would have been a tad longer to where we could have seen a bit more interaction between the characters and more of a resolution; I was hoping for a different outcome at the end. Not that this one is bad at all, there is plenty to be left to the imagination, it was just not what I expected and where my mind was taking me for the conclusion. Overall, Devil’s Fork is a page turner you will enjoy from start to finish, I did!
*I received an ARC from the author and am voluntarily providing my honest review.

Wow. Another fantastic book by this author. Love Jesse’s books. After Rainhorse I didn’t think they could get better but wow. Roger Jolly (great name) or Jolly to his friends works as a white water rafting guide. Just back after getting injured from going down a banned white water. He meets Jeannie and her family as he takes 11 people out for a 3 day trip with his friend in the other boat. What happens from here is edge of your seat reading. Bullets, boats sinking, injured people, fight for survival and a sniper are all the order is the day as we find out the whys, the who’s, the what’s and the wonder if they will get out of it alive. At the end with Jolly having an accident will he find the woman meant for him. An exciting book from the beginning. Can’t wait for more.

Jacobson did not disappoint. The story twisted and turned and held my attention from start to finish.I kept saying just one more chapter but I couldn't put it down. I finished it in one sitting. This book was filled with suspense.action, angst and possibility of love. It revolves around two friends and former navy SEALS. One is a member of the Brotherhood Protectors. The other one wants to be but hasn't show he is worthy yet. How they are able to adapt and handle a potentially deadly situation that comes up during the rafting trip they are in charge of You also are rooting for a love connection to happen. The twist at the end was a surprise. I hope the author has more planned for these characters.Another great contribution by Jesse Jacobson to the Brotherhood Protectors World.

This was a great read. Roger Jolly aka Jolly Roger to his Seal buddies, is an outdoors guide taking 11 people on a six day trip. With one over the top expectant customer in tow, things are interesting. His buddy ToeJam is injured and Jolly comes up with a plan to save most of the guests on the trip, but it's quite the wild ride that he and Jeannie have to go through. There is suspense and it's definitely a page turner. It was quite the twist at the end and then an even further twist for the ending. It took me for surprise. You will enjoy this book and I do recommend it and Ms. Jacobson's other books. It was a great read.

I received this advanced reader's copy in exchange for an honest review.

Loved following the adventure of going through rapids. You can see it and feel it from her descriptions. Roger Jolly helps out with a white water rafting company and has little patience for the people who come out, not to enjoy the outing but want to be waited on and served. When he meets the Jenkins' he knows right away that Mr. Jenkins is going to be a pain in his ass, but his daughter is different. She is being sheltered by her parents after a bad breakup. Little do they know that her ex is involved in something that can cause her, her life.
You have to read this one and let your imagination run away with all of the action that happens.

This is not a brotherhood Protectors book! Just because you put Hank Patterson name and company in a book doesnt mean its part of the series!

First half of the book was all set up. Part of the rafting trip, squabbles from the passengers. The story didnt really start until the 50% mark. He has such a big ego and chip on his shoulder it was very hard to identify with him. An with the two ladies throwing themselves at him really? if he has been doing this trip for a couple years you would think he would be able to stay clear of it...

Over all story was ok but read the amazon write up it will tell you the entire story. Very disappointing

I have read this author before and enjoyed her books. Can't recommend this one at all.

Interesting characters abound in this story. Jolly is a guide for rafting down some rapids. Use to dealing with less than stellar rich people he definitely has his hands full. Jeannie is going rafting with her parents and has some interest in Jolly. Lots of great descriptions of trip down the river. When the two rafts get shot at it takes Jolly to help get everyone to safety. When the two rafts split up and Jolly and Jeannie head to the dangerous Devil's Fork will they survive? Loved this story from beginning till the end. Some surprises and a great story! Loved it!!

FAST MOVING DRAMA

A pretty intense outdoor adventure involving two ex Seal buddies who are currently working as guides who take people rafting and camping. While on one of their tours they find someone is stalking them. Once the shooting starts a whole new pattern emerges. Two people break off from the group in an attempt to save the lives of the remaining members. An intense chase, some serious injuries and finally the FBI arrive to save the day.

Good read

Jolly was working as a guide for a rafting company. Jeannie was taking the trip down the Devil's Fork rapids. The trip was going as usual until Jolly was the gleam of a sniper 's rifle. The shooter was taking shots at the f
raft and even though it wasn't the normal the raft was built to stand heavy rapids. Jolly came up with a plan where he and Jeannie would go a different way to save the rest of the guests.

Devil's Fork took me on an adventure, action packed and Jesse made me feel like I was going down the rapids with Jeannie and Roger Jolly with the water hitting me and bullets flying around. Some surprise's with the ex boyfriend of Jeannie's and Jolly waking up from being shot and hurt from the raft ride then not knowing anything what a page turner! I really enjoyed this book

Different than other books in this group. Jolly and Toejam run adventures in rafting and they run into some trouble. Terrorists have hired some mercs to get Jeannie's dad whose into something he shouldn't be. So they are trying to get her to use against her dad. They run into some trouble along the way. This book was ok but like I said different from the other books I've read.

Jolly is a former Navy Seal. He works for an outdoor excursion company with his buddy ToeJam. They are getting ready to head out. Jeannie and her parents are on his boat.
Jolly feels that something is off. At first ToeJam doesn't want to believe him but eventually does. Is his reaction plausible?? Are their lives in danger?

OMG! Tons of action, lots of adventure and intrigue! Jolly and Jeanie are the perfect pair in this adventure! I love how you get their whole back story as they interact with one another and others so you fully understand them. They are truly explosive together! So many twists and turns and the ending will truly make you swoon! You can't lose with this one! You won't want to put it down!

Dare Devil!

Devil's Fork: WOW! Fantastic writing and story telling! I Loved the connection between Jeannie and Jolly. It was magic between them. It's deadbeat happen to him but it's good that he made an effort to reconnect even though he only remember bits and pieces. It was a wonderful story.

Devil's Fork is a fast paced adventure that keeps the reader turning the pages. Ms. Jacobson's characters are original - smart and well developed and her story line tight with an out of the box ending that gives me hope for a second book with Jolly and Jeannie.

3 stars from my view

This book has warm varied characters and an interesting setting, but the first half of the book was all set up. Then there was a lot of fast action which I liked. But I didn't care for the ending very much.

Great read

Plot well thought out, not cookie cutter. Author relief on good writing rather than explicit sex scenes so many resort to. I look forward to reading more of her works.
