With a missing king and his inexperienced husband leading the Cerith Kingdom, chaos reins.

It has been four months since Evander's disappearance and even with the help of trusted allies, Alyx feels like at every turn he is tested and fails. There has been no word since Evander's kidnapping and with every passing day, the kingdom grows restless, enemies approach their borders, and Alyx only waits for the whole thing to come down.

And it will be all his fault.

Far north, Evander faces an enemy he did not expect. Alone, beaten, starved, he can only wait for his rescue, but as more time passes, Evander fears the worst:

They think him dead and Alyx has moved on.

With war looming and his allies becoming fewer and fewer, will Alyx choose to search for Evander? Or will he find it in himself to stand up and fight for his kingdom, in Evander's name?
This is the third book in The Cerith Kingdom Chronicles and concludes Alyx and Evander's story. It is necessary to read the previous two books to understand this book.

I was pretty shocked at who Thomas really was..

I'm mad at Alyx .he didn't do a damn thing when Evander was taken. He sat around and bitched at people. Like go look for him? It dragged and dragged on. Poor Evander was being beat and starved and Alyx is getting drugged so he sleeps. He wasnt doing enough. I get it, but I don't. Evander even said (in his cell) he would be burning the world down to get Alyx back....
Where was that same energy?

There wasn't any lovey dovey romance in this. Not even sobbing I miss yous when Evander came home 🙄

I'm happy with how Thomas died, but everything was so rushed afterward.

Oh, and I guess Queen Gia dissappeard ?

Great series

I know there are those who will disagree BUT I do not care!! To me this was a great series. I loved all the characters and they were all strongly developed. The mystery, the intrigue the constant threat of war and death kept the story flowing. The author did a great job with this story!

Building a whole slew of characters to play with is... actually not that hard. It's making them likeable and real and - most of all - different, that makes this practically black magic.

This series has the gall to have both - to somehow have good characters, a whole family and great friends set of characters... except time two. And now I have this warm around my heart and a smile on my lips when I think of this romance... except I have to try really hard to actually remember there were two different couples. And I did like them both. They had several of those characteristics I like in my couples. They both had. Which seems to be the problem.

But anyway, the third book... well, stuff happened, bad stuff. And good stuff. And...

Recommend.

Loved It

This was a very fitting ending to what was an amazing trilogy. These characters were meant for each other and the waded through the blood of their enemies to prove it. I highly recommend it but know the books must be read in order.

Wow this trilogy was amazing, it rivals with Captive Prince in my fantasy favs now. Evander and Alyx are two amazing men, with some pretty amazing friends and family. I am sooo looking forward to Alik and Eamon’s story now.
