Sinner is a prequel to the Deadly Seven series, but man! There was a lot of info packed into its pages! I enjoyed the fast pacing of the storyline and loved the characters and their little quirks. The violence is actually minimal, Flint curses like a sailor, Mary isn’t a sinner but a hidden saint, and those special kids will steal hearts! If you’re into comic books and/or action flicks, with a slice of romance thrown in for extra heat, then this book is a great mish-mash.
If you like Christine Feehan’s Ghostwalker series, then this series should be right up your alley.

I think this is such an interesting concept, I'm excited to read more. There were a few times where things were fiction rational but not real world rational like Mary*s infertility, but I can overlook little things like that for a good story.

This was a very interesting read. The plot line was unique. It took me a few chapters to realize what was going on, but once I did, I couldn’t put it down. I would definitely recommend!

This is the introduction to a series about a special group of children, experimented on to give them special powers.
The world has become a terrible place. Rank with violence and corruption, there is a group determined to use the evil around them and they plan to raise a group with special talents. But there are also a few who are aware of these plans and determine to stop them. One of these people is Mary, the heroine of our story. She works undercover in the secret facility where children are being experimented on. The time comes to escape and she enlists the help of Flynn to help them. He’s a tech genius who works at the facility though he has no idea what’s really going on.
The two of them have had a flirtatious relationship for a few years now as well as a strong mutual attraction. Flynn instantly agrees to help them escape and with that they manage to get away.
As I said this is the introduction and the real different stories are to follow. This book did its job and has me wanting more. I’ve read other books by this author and loved them so I’m looking forward to diving in.

Short novella which is the introduction to the Deadly Seven series.
I’m glad I read this first as I reckon it will give me the background needed before jumping into this series.
This series sounds so cool with new spin on super heroes and humans designed with special powers.
This book explains how they were made and then saved as children from a lab and ending with Flint & Mary agreeing to raise them in a loving home.

I loved this introduction to the world of the Deadly Seven, a short novel to give a little of what is about to come !! It is hard to not fall for Mary and Flint who will love, educate and follow the growth of incredible children, made to save the world from its own sins.

Mary Margaret has been working at Biolum Industries for two years. She has been waiting to rescue the children being used as experiments to combat the rise of sin in the world. When the day arrives to free them she finds unexpected help from the sexy tech genius, Flynn Fydler.
While this is just a short taste of this world, I was instantly fascinated and want to know more. The concept of children being experimented on to identify each deadly sin was fascinating. I really can’t wait to see how they will use their abilities in the future books.
I really enjoyed Flynn and Mary. Flynn has been crushing on Mary since he first saw her years ago. He is an honorable man who was willing to sacrifice everything to save the children. Mary had a terrible childhood and then was trained to be an assassin. She believes she is just a sinner and will never be a good person. Flynn shows her that she really is a saint and that her past doesn’t make her a bad person. I adored these two and can’t wait to see how their future plays out with the kids.

What kind of magic did I stumble upon!
This book was amazing! My first time reading this author and Maui wowi is this book fantastic!! I’m truly upset it ended at 75%!! Come on! You’re killing me smalls! Lana did a phenomenal job with world building! I want to know so much more! Mary and Flint has off the charts chemistry! Man, can you imagine going through that heat for 2 years? Lol the endless blood loss for my boy must have been near criminal 🤣😏 🥶 but to finally have things come to fruition must have been like coming home during a double rainbow all the way!! 👄🍑 but im so happy they got their HFN ending. I really want to know how things progressed with the kids growing up. There’s lots of unanswered questions and I hope they get resolved either in Envy’s book or some other book in the future. But I must say this is such an interesting twist and spin on the 7 deadly sins. Hats off and a huge bravo to the author Lana for such a bold impressive undertaking. I’m going full steam ahead into Envy’s book right after this review. I’ve read this novella in one sitting and I’m pushing through for another! The story is just that good! Pick this book up and get lost in the magic! You won’t regret this one! 5⭐️ from me!

This isn’t the best book I’ve ever read, but it’s made me want to read the whole series. So I call that a win.
On this surface this is a sweet romance, with a hint of spice, a lot of action, and a commendable amount of world building. (Especially since it’s interesting and world building is usually dull.)

Sinner is an action packed adventure that you would be disappointed in picking up and trying a new author out. Each story gets better and better in my opinion. And I can't wait to ready more.
Sinner is about sinner named Mary. Trained and undercover as a nun to get a job done. She has two choices tonight. Flight or fight. But even with all the variables in place. Something she didn't expect popped up: Love. Can she get her job done in time without the complications she sees in the future..

I was intrigued by SINNER from the first pages and while we only get a taste of the overall concept it has me ready to jump into the next book.
I enjoyed Flynn right away; he's loyal, honorable, and willing to sacrifice if it means doing the right thing. Flynn's interested in Mary from the moment they meet but since he thinks Mary is a nun he's entertainingly conflicted over his attraction. Flynn's support was exactly what Mary needed to realize that she deserves love in her life. Mary had a terrible childhood after her parents discovered her psychic abilities and while she's found a purpose with the Hildegrad Sisterhood's secret assassin training she's let that work consume all parts of her life. I particularly loved that our heroine Mary is the badass assassin with some serious skills while Flynn is more the "side kick" along for the ride.
The idea of these children embodying each of the deadly sins and being created to be super soldiers was a really cool idea. SINNER should definitely be read with a mind toward comic books or superheroes because it has that type of feel.

I received an ARC of Sinner, the prequel to a new paranormal series in which the key protagonists each personify one of the seven deadly sins. This is a short story, but packed with action from start to finish. Lead characters Flint and Mary are well fleshed out, with the attraction between them simmering from the first pages. This story is not just about love and sex though that happens along the way. There is action and intrigue thrown in as well as Mary enlists Flint’s help to rescue seven children from Biolum Industries, where they’ve been developed as potentially future deadly weapons. I was hooked! This is an excellent start to the series.

She must now bring him into the mission and risk everything if he decides to run and tell...or risk everything by not following her vision and altering the future. Her destiny and the fate of these children is in his hands. His large, muscular, manly hands...

I mean, it's almost not even faire for me to write a review. Lana can do no wrong and I will read anything she writes until the end of time.
We love a short, curvy latina and Mary has just enough trauma mixed with bootstrap training to be Flint's deadly mixture of "I want to save this girl/I want this woman to save me". We do have the history of sexual tension and flirting, which makes up for immediate move to "Do you trust me, leave your job and be a vigilante with me, also I have 7 kids with superpowers we have to protect and teach how to love so their true power can be unlocked later, I'll explain, the building is on fire, let's go". Yeah, it's a lot in a very short novella but! it all works and the characters may not have a lot of pages to attach to your heart but somehow they do. it's Lana's own special brand of crack magic, I think. So, I am not getting ready to read the next book in the series, Envy. I'll catch you later to tell you about it.

Two years ago, IT specialist Flint Fydler took a job at Biolum Industries because of their orphanage. It eases his guilt to see his donation at work for a young girl whose parents were killed by the car he was in. Flint also has to chastise himself for his lusty thoughts and simmering flirt going on with sister Mary Margaret, one of the nuns that cares for the infants.
Mary isn’t a nun but she is a psychic working with the Sisterhood and is well aware of Biolum’s real intentions for the infants, they intend to stop it. Mary will miss Flint at breaktime, he pushes all her ‘hot sex here’ buttons though they’ve barely spoken. Only Flint’s on the elevator when a vision made her pass out. Luckily for her, Flint offers to erase the footage when he sees how upset she becomes.
Mary’s vision showed her the sisterhood needed to make their move now. In her workspace a Biolum manager demands the ‘nun’s’ kill the babies they’ve engineered since they lack the desired traits. Mary convinces Flint to help the nuns get the babies to safety. Flint is just one of the differences compared to her vision where the sisters succeeded.
This dense prequel is hard to review without revealing all the goodies and there are plenty to choose from. The outing offers fast paced exposition, a plot with enough originality and freshness, plus healthy threads of action, romance and suspense contributing to an enjoyable read.

What a great introduction to the start of a new series. (I don’t give spoilers.) This novella is set 25yrs before the next book in the series starts. It’s creativity suddenly seizes your attention and plucks you away from reality, transporting you to a time & place you don’t question. The storyline makes It hard to be immune to the intense emotions that overwhelms you when you find a scene that is painfully shocking and terrifying to your moral compass. The characters gave us some depth to the reputation, traits, qualities of each other, making this story flow with an urgency of visions & decisions. Not all end well. Mary & Flynn are left with a life changing decision which will be the hardest thing they have ever done. Mary, has only ever known brutality and years of training for the sisterhood. Flint is a simple man who has carried a guilty secret with him for years. 8 children are on the verge of salvation or destruction. I enjoyed this book, with its shocking scenes & the incredible love story in the wings. If the rest of the series is as good as this then, all I can say is, Lana Pecherczyk you have nailed it ! If you like fantasy, paranormal or sci-fi, or just want a great quick read, then personally, I believe you won’t go wrong with this, but be warned the power of the creative writing will keep making you come back.

Excellent Introduction To A New Series
I’m not usually a huge fan on novellas but this one was crafted brilliantly. This book is a prequel to a new series and explains the set up for the series really well.
Flint works for a big firm working on innovative ideas that are supposed to make the world a better place. This book is about what the future of those children looks like. The book is very well crafted and the characters are great. I really liked both Flint and Mary and the characters of the children were shown briefly. We are made to understand the nature of the world, that these characters exist in, and the sense of a failing society is outlined clearly. The children are pivotal in the future of this world, and this period of a couple of days determines their future.
The author has a great ability to create tension without going overboard and quickly induce empathy for the characters. I am really looking forward to the series, if this brief taste is an example of what is to come.
I’m not usually a huge fan on novellas but this one was crafted brilliantly. This book is a prequel to a new series and explains the set up for the series really well.

Comecei meio desconfiada, mas logo nas primeiras páginas me vi gargalhando pela maneira inusitada como tudo começa. Senti uma vibe de Natasha Romanov ali na personagem principal, e vi que havia muito mais que pura exploração genética, havia ciência no encontro de potencializar características que ditam credos e estabelecem leis quase canônicas. O livro vai abarcar uma luta pela preservação de crianças usadas em uma pesquisa, que vocês tratem de ir ler para saber como é, oxe, eu lá vou dar o livro aqui, é? Então, mas fala sobre a preservação dessas crianças que tem ligação com sete pecados. E, senhores, que Prequel!
Para além, veremos o desenvolvimento do romance entre Mary e Flint, bem como conheceremos um pouco do passado de cada personagem e como essa união é perfeita! Ah! E a pegação é ótima por ser divertida, eu gosto de ler sobre s3x* que divirta, não apenas sobre meteção! Haha!
Eu gostei de me divertir e não dei cinco estrelas porque senti que os personagens secundários foram secundários demais, eram apenas ganchos para acontecimentos dos personagens primários e eles mereciam mais espaço. Afora isso, livro muito divertido, cheio de ação, porradaria, pecado, tecnologia e avanço, além de muito amorzinho, que ninguém é de ferro!

OMG Great Adventure!!!
This was a great novella introducing this series to the world. I loved it. I read in in one sitting over a couple hours. It was informative in telling who Mary and Flint were and their histories. How they met and fell in love. How they came together to rescue Seven children that truly needed them. Who were experiments that had their DNA changed and were going to be used as weapons. The Seven Deadly Sins.
I really want a follow-up story with Mary and Flint.
Their attraction for each other was hott. How they saved 7 of the children and dedicated their lives to raising them couldn't have been easy. But love conquers all, right? :)
This is a great, but short, Paranormal Romance filled with action, drama, romance, and one steamy bathroom scene that was perfect. I can't wait to read the rest of the books in this series. It hit all the right buttons for an action packed romance with a kickbutt, strong woman in the lead. YES! More please!!!

The hero and heroine met at the company they both work at. When they first met two years before the book started the hero believed the heroine was a nun. Which he later in the book discovers is not true.
The heroine has visions and in her latest vision she had it was to save the children that no one but a handful of employees that worked in the company that both she and the hero work at knows about.
These children when they grow up will either be saviours of mankind or their destruction. Each child had the name of a sin. There was eight but only seven of them was freed from the company. No one knows the fate of the oldest girl and their mother. The hero and heroine raised the children as their own instead of taking them to the nuns that trained the heroine to be their "Sinner"
The first book in the series "Envy" is when all they children become adults.
I recommend that you get the series and read it starting with this one

The prequel to the Deadly Seven series, Sinner follows the relationship the Deadly Seven's parents, Mary and Flint, as they rescue the children. The manuscript is a novella, far too short for the explosive and powerful love between the pretend nun and the curious nerd. It doesn't bring anything new to the table for the series, except give a glimpse of how Mary and Flint actually see each other and what drives them to devote their lives to raising seven superpowered beings.
And that is worth the price of admission, especially since the price is free (at the time of this writing 1/12/2021).
I've read books 1-6 of the series. I am waiting for Pride to come out in July (ugh - 6 more months) and then Despair. Reading the Prequel may help tie me over.

Flint a science geek flirts with one of the sisters Mary on a daily basis, he feels a connection between them, until one day he proves his faith and trust in her risking everything to save all of the children from harm when things are about to go tragically wrong.
This is the prequel to the series of books and sets up the series nicely, making you want to continue reading the rest of the books. The story is action packed and full of little insights to what may come in future instalments. The story continues at a fast pace but full of little details forcing you to keep turning the pages.
The main characters Flint and Mary (in this book) are very complex and both have a devastating, troubled past, which makes their connection to one another more engaging.
I can’t wait to read more of the series.

Don’t be mad at meeeeeee 🫣
I literally dnf’d this book after, maybe, 4 pages. Maybe my gripes aren’t valid but, in 2019 we were well past using terms like “fucktard”. It’s largely considered derogatory to use “tard” as an insult and it’s so uncreative.
I also feel that if you’re going to write a nonwhite character you should research the culture or language at least a tiny bit. Sister Mary Margaret (the overly sexualized nun 🙄) would be referred to as latinA not latinO as Spanish uses femme/masc endings to indicate gender. That’s, like, day one in Spanish class. This is more irritating than it is problematic.
Maybe I am missing context, since I haven’t read any of the other books in the series. I started with this one and, maybe that’s why these things don’t land well.
In all, it wasn’t my cup of tea. Love it for you if it was but, it’s a big “yikes” for me.

Truly a unique storyline, this author created a very intriguing start of a new series. I haven’t quite grasped the concept of the children’s possible destinies but I believe that is exactly where I should be with book one. The recently born envy is the next book yet I am hoping that despair is still in this tale and not lost. Truly curious to see how the male/female dynamic will play out towards influencing the children’s directions in life. This is a wrk of fiction but it is maddening to know there are females in our present day world that really have been warped with extreme hatred towards historical males views. That’s enough of that tangent, I am anxiously awaiting the next installment after this wonderful build up. All my reviews are always voluntarily written.

This is one of those books I stumbled upon. Superheroes but with more of a love story twist? Yes!
And it was a fantastic start to the series. Interesting premise- the children are developed in order to sense one of the major sins. They can go either way- good or bad and therefore, it's up to Mary to help them find the right path. A few twists and turns and this story kept me invested so I'm already starting the next book.
I liked Mary and Flint's romance (Mary recruits Flint to help her save the children) but the romance itself felt rushed and I didn't think that it was well explained. That's ok though because this is the back story anyway and the rest of the series really follows the children.
