WOW! Just WOW!!!!
I have been a huge fan of Vic's for a long time now and have to date loved everything that she has written, her writing has progressively gotten better through each book and then when I saw this, I was like "there is no way this is for me, I know I won't like Tom."
Well let me tell you something, I have eaten my words in a big way! I could not have asked for a better story to be told. MM is usually not my first or even second choice but I can say that I will be re-reading this book for many years to come.
Mack is just so amazing, I love him to bits in that best friends forever kind of way that just warms your soul and makes you want to never not see him. The expectations for this boy was high and he smashed it out the park for me. His personality and just general demeanour crawled off these pages and burrowed into my heart.
Tom, Tom, Tom. Dick head, cold hearted, asshole who I wanted to punch after the way he spoke to my girl Sena, has literally wormed his way into my heart and dare I say, made me love him like the adopted big brother that I never wanted.
The chemistry between these two is beyond epic and had me on the edge of my seat in anticipation. At no point did I want to put this book down except when I felt like my world was coming to an end. Because in true V fashion she had me laughing, crying and begging for me/less all at the same time. The sexy times between these two had me more than just a little hot under the collar and squirming in my seat!
I won't give anything away as usual but I can tell you that yes, there is an age gap, yes there is some very hot man on mon loving and yes, you heart will melt for all the right reasons so do it! Get the damn book because it's awesome!!!

TOM COHEN!!! I'm a convert! I just BET you fall in love too
This book gives you all the MM romance feels you're looking for. A stubborn, standoffish older guy. A quirky, full of life younger guy and hot, palpable chemistry with slithers of brilliant humor throughout. I've always adored VT's lines, sometimes my kindle looks like a crime scene because I highlight so much. I love when lines stand out to me and this book is no exception.
We met Tom in the Taboo love Duet ( read it, it's amazing ) He was Noah's salty ex and he was built as a brilliant antagonist, but we were shown a slither of niceness from him which made me wonder what he was all about. We found out in Manhattan Bet Tom wasn't all that salty. Sure, he'd had a bad breakup and he was pretty damn off men altogether. He actively wanted to change his fast and loose lifestyle and then here comes along Mack Hennessy. Barely twenty, a mega brain, confident, fun, funny and quirky and he's totally into Tom, as both as a celebrity crush and then as a man he wants to get to know. Mack is the younger by 12 years, but he is most definitely the driving force in the relationship. He sees what he wants and he goes for it, even when it's Tom putting up the road blocks.
I love best of all that it's a mixed race relationship and not once is it focused on BECAUSE THE ROMANCE IS WHERE IT'S AT!!! Loved that so much.
This author writes a whole eclectic range of lead characters, different races, sexualities, body shapes and she never makes it the focus, because HELLO, being different isn't important. The hot, nasty sex is, OBVIOUSLY!! *swoon*
-It has hotness. So much hotness. (the changing room scene!! the hate-fuck!!! the couch!!! )
-Memorable lines. So many I want to highlight on my official kindle copy. (I read an ARC )
-Redeemed TOM!! Yes!! I loved and felt so sad for his back story, and to see him trying to better his personality and allow himself to love. He had such a dry wit! I got a little heart happy that he made the restaurants in his mom's honor. And the end scenes with his dad... my heart. It felt real. Sometimes you have to forgive, not for sake of someone who has hurt you, but for you own peace of mind.
MACK is not an alpha hero... not what we expect anyway ... but he has bossy qualities and he never took any of Tom's shit, he called him on and I was loving it. What a sweet, fun gorgeous boy.
This author writes some of the best sex scenes I've ever read and now we know she is equally amazing at writing hot MM scenes.
“I’ve wanted to touch you all week.” I confessed. “Wanted to hold you all week. Wanted to climb into your big bed and hold you so you weren’t alone.” He was beautiful with his slow blinking eyes on me as he leaned into my hand.
“God. Just put your fucking hands on me, Hennessy. I can’t stand being this far away from you any longer.”
Collectively we sighed and wrapped our arms around each other. It was like coming home and finding my spot in his heart. “I’m going to keep you, Mack.”

After meeting Tom in The Taboo Love Duet I never thought I would like him. But after seeing how Mack got through his tough exterior I am loving this new version of Tom. Mack is awesome. He had patience and enough love to fight for them. His domineering ways not only surprised me but Tom as well.
Thank you V for giving us another amazing couple in Tom and Mack. I was glad to read their story and not one based on their being gay or a racially mixed couple. I love when an author can take that aspect out of the story so you are only focusing on the characters.
Even if MM is not your kind of story put that aside and read this book. You will not be disappointed.

Wow, this book is hot!! After meeting Tom in a previous book I was ready for him to have his own story but V Theia out did herself. Tom was a jerk when we first met him and he still is but that quickly becomes the charm of his story. Tom is a jaded super model with more money and fame than anyone needs, angry about his last love going south and his role in it, he has no interest in dating, relationships and some serious trust issues. A chance meeting in a coffee shop Tom crosses paths with Mack, fun loving, good looking and way too young. Although Tom is the returning character, Mack steals the show. He is charming, vivacious, overly confident and socially awkward which makes him all the more lovable. This book is crazy hot, funny, loving and did I mention HOT?! An amazingly great read that will make you smile, gasp and fan yourself. The banter between these two was phenomenal. A must read whether you you like M/M or not. This will be added to my re-read list for sure.

Have to say I loved this book
Mack is a completely adorable character. Full of energy, he reminds me of a Labrador puppy.
A typical teenager, betting on stupid things and falling into a bit of peer pressure, esp over something he would never imagine happening.
Tom is a bit jaded, and with good reason. With his hook-ups only wanting to use him and his name, he's not sure how to handle Mack's honesty.
He tries to scare Mack away by being honest about his past. When overhearing about the bet he reacted the way anyone would.
These two characters are so perfect for one-another, I hope we get more about them in future.
Another perfectly written, easy to read and re-read.

I don’t know how but V. Theia managed to get me to not only like Tom Cohen after a not so savoury introduction to the character in the Taboo Love Duet but to sympathize with him. I enjoyed Mack from the start. He’s one of those characters you can’t help but love from the first chapter. This was Theia’s first adventure into an MM romance and I think she nailed it. Looking forward to more from the Manhattan world.

GORGEOUS AND UN-PUT-DOWNABLE !!
Mack and Tom were everything delicious in this world and so much more than I ever expected this MM romance to be.
This book is what happens if you get the chance to kiss your celebrity crush and then fall madly in love. Their chemistry and connection was apparent from the beginning which made every page a delight.
I loved that Mack --- the younger guy by 12 years ---- was the driving force, he did all the chasing at first. It's Tom who is jaded to relationships and sworn off men for a while but he can't help himself falling for the sweet, funny nerdy boy. I lived for their push and pull and how possessive Tom was over Mack even when he fought against it.
I liked that the age difference was touched upon but in a funny way and not made as the focus for the whole storyline. The storyline was actually quite brilliant, because I've forgotten all about the main part...the title of the book... and then the author queen dropped it in and totally took my breath because I was so engrossed in Mack and Tom falling in love I'd forgotten to look out for the other shoe to drop.
“Are you sure you’re only twenty?”
“Technically I’m still nineteen for a few weeks yet.” I saw that news made him frown and I stuck my tongue in the side of my cheek.
Our age difference didn’t bother me a bit.
“Christ, you’re a baby.”
“Only against you, old man. But I’m sure you’ll keep up when we go skateboarding and climbing trees.”
I liked the were saw some old favorites from this Manhattan World. If you're a fan already then you'd totally appreciate those easter eggs, but if you're new to both Taboo Love Duet and From Manhattan Series (two series connected by location and characters ) then you'd still enjoy it and want to know more about the secondary cast. It's what V. Theia does best, she gives all these delicious supporting characters and makes you want their books too! Loved seeing Sena and Noah. My absolute faves.

It's an absolute joy to fall in love with more characters from a Theia book. We briefly met Tom ( who was a damn good antagonist ) and Mack ( a delightful young boy! ) in the Taboo love Duet ( not needed to read to enjoy Bet, but you should because it's Faaaamazing ) so I was over the moon excited to get their story. And more so to watch Tom become something we hadn't expected .... a gorgeous hero worthy boy.
My only excuse being I’d been a gigantic dickhead with a chip on my ego. And now I was trying to be less of a dickhead. It was a work in progress, but Rome wasn’t built in a day and I might look damn good in clothes, but my personality needed a major overhaul.
It's age-gap.
It's MM.
It's a story of love. Plain and simple. It's Mack meeting his celeb crush and realizing Tom is more than meets the eye. It's about Tom accepting he needs love ... just from the right person. He's pretty jaded to love and finding it, so he shies away from Mack at first even when he's utterly drawn to this quirky, loveable boy.
I adored watching their frisson and draw to each other. Mack was a determined boy, that's for sure.
What happens when you make a stupid bet ... then fall deeply, crazily in love? Oh, it's glorious!!
I just bet you fall so deeply in love with this excellently written MM romance. It has it all. Heart, fun, Sexy as HELL!! laugh out loud lines, secondary characters we want to see again ( Hi, Hunter ) What you can rely on with any Theia book is the characters drive the story and when you least expect it she will deliver emotions by the bucket load.
If you love MM then you need to meet Mack and Tom.
He seemed to know what I wanted…how I liked being touched, even without instructions. But two guys…it wasn’t that difficult, always go for the cock.

If you are a lover of MM stories like I am, then this book is most definitely for you! If you read the Manhattan Series then you will have met Tom, a high fashion model who doesn't believe in relationships, only hook ups. Then along comes Mack, a computer genius who is a bit younger than Tom, who has an amazing sense of humor. Mack has lusted after Tom for years, but never thought he would ever meet him. Until one chance meeting at coffee shop that sets the tone for this amazing story. While they embark on a relationship of sorts, can it last? Will one mistake end it all? Can Mack break through Tom's cold exterior? My heart fell in love with both these characters and truly didn't want their story to end. You will root for these characters to end up together and their story will pull at your heartstrings. Please read this incredible story of lust and love. You will fall in love with them just like I did.

Team Tack
First let me say that V.Theia is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors—no doubt. I said to myself, “Self”, V’s books cannot get any better, but then she surprised the hell out of me. With that out the way, let’s talk about Manhattan Bet—Tom and Mack, an unlikely couple-the beautiful model clothes whore and the computer geek. I didn’t like Tom initially because of the way he treated Sena—to me he was a beautiful model diva, but I must say from his first appearance in this book, I fell in love with him. What can I say about Mack? He blew my freaking mind from the very beginning. He is such an amazing character, he is sensitive, adorable, but he can also be a dominant bad ass—if needed. Just ask Tom about that 😊. Mack has a beautiful soul and he is not afraid to go for what or who he wants and right now he wants his crush, Tom.
Let’s talk about the chemistry with the two boys, the chemistry was so freaking hot, it came right off the page. Every time they are together, it’s like they are the only ones in the world…HOT! HOT! HOT! my heart literally stopped whenever they are together. Let’s just say nobody writes smut like V.Theia—NOBODY. Let me tell you this book did not disappoint. The best M/M action EVER! Some damn good man loving for my enjoyment.
Manhattan Bet is the best book I’ve read this year--so far (I read it twice already). I would highly recommend it-even if you have never read this genre before, trust me you will love it. Seriously while you are at it, pick up the rest of the series…matter of fact, pick up all of V.Theia’s books…You are welcome!

With that out the way, let’s talk about Manhattan Bet—Tom and Mack, an unlikely couple-the beautiful model clothes whore and the computer geek. I didn’t like Tom initially because of the way he treated Sena—to me he was a beautiful model diva, but I must say from his first appearance in this book, I fell in love with him. What can I say about Mack? He blew my freaking mind from the very beginning. He is such an amazing character, he is sensitive, adorable, but he can also be a dominant bad ass—if needed. Just ask Tom about that 😊. Mack has a beautiful soul and he is not afraid to go for what or who he wants and right now he wants his crush, Tom.
Let’s talk about the chemistry with the two boys, the chemistry was so freaking hot, it came right off the page. Every time they are together, it’s like they are the only ones in the world…HOT! HOT! HOT! my heart literally stopped whenever they are together. Let’s just say nobody writes smut like V.Theia—NOBODY. Let me tell you this book did not disappoint. The best M/M action EVER! Some damn good man loving for my enjoyment.
Manhattan Bet is the best book I’ve read this year--so far (I read it twice already). I would highly recommend it-even if you have never read this genre before, trust me you will love it. Seriously while you are at it, pick up the rest of the series…matter of fact, pick up all of V.Theia’s books…You are welcome!

I bet you can't put this book down. I bet you will fall in love with Mack and Tom. I bet you will laugh a bunch while reading. I bet you will be blown away by this sexy, filthy and utterly amazing book. Manhattan Bet is one of the best MM books that I have read in memory. This should be no surprise to me since all of V's books just take me there.
This is the love story of Tom, whom we met in the Taboo Love Duet books and hated. He was completely unloveable. We also met Mack for a brief minute in this series and he was a little punk genius. So how do you take these two and make a love story? You rely on the writing magic of this author and Manhattan Bet does not disappoint. Tom is so aloof, arrogant and bored and Mack is like a fresh energizer bunny. When these beautiful men meet it is instant chemistry and the temperature goes up about a hundred degrees. As Tom said to Mack, "come on,puppy. I have a place to show you."
I laughed and sighed throughout this wonderful read. It is funny, charming, sexy and all so full of steam. I highly recommend this book. This is a one click author for me.

Tom, I wanted to keep disliking you! (If you’ve read Taboo Love you will understand).
Of course V has a mind and a way with bringing the worst of bad people into a light that doesn’t allow you to even dislike the worst of characters. Tom grew so much in this short period of time. From this aloof tough man, to such a softie for his Mack. Adorable! Mack was the perfect man for him! Hilarious, smart, and didn’t take no for an answer. Cause come on, if you know Tom, you know for sure he’s full of ‘no’. The best HEA ever!!! One of my top favorite lines comes from our dear Noah. But sums up this read for me so well.
“You’ll know one day when someone is essential to you why I moved heaven and earth for her.”
Tom and Mack would do just that for each other, you can feel their love for each other just burning from the pages, and I couldn’t be happier for them both.

An exceptionally written must read! The arrogant, aloof, non-relationship, only hook-ups Tom meets his match in every way with Mack. And Mack, this young man with an old soul, genius intelligence and beguiling sensuality is hot! These two basically burned my Kindle with their exploding intensity. But, not everything in their story is perfect. There is angst, heartache, hurt, anger and frustration. Can these two make it work? Will they realize that they are perfect for each other before it's too late? Pick up this book and be swept up into the lives of Tom and Mack just as I was.

And even though Mack is the younger (by 12 years) of the two, he's more aggressive in his pursuit of Tom, and I loved seeing the way he gets Tom to open up and soften up. (Tom goes from jaded curmudgeon to big ol' teddy bear!)
The evolution of their emotional relationship is sweet, but let's talk about the smut. Holy over the top hotness factor, Batman! I can always count on this author to bring me those dirty talkin' filthy boys, and I am so HERE FOR IT.

as a lover of M/M books, this is up there with my top two! I love the chemistry between Tom and Mack, it was sizzling hot, the internal struggle with Tom with age difference between him and Mack, and I love the no filter no bullshit from Mack.

I can’t even describe how good this book is!! It literally took over my life I couldn’t put it down I had to know what was going to happen with these to boys! It was an all consuming type of love story, that will make you laugh like crazy (or try not to laugh in public so people don’t think you are crazy 😂), and it will make fall head over heals in love with these two men! You will love Tom ( I’m sorry but it’s true!) and you will want to be best friends with Mack( let me tell you that boy is hilarious!!!). I will bet you 50 dollars you will fall in love with them just as easily as I did!

What a fantastic book. Everything you expect from this author and more, much more. Believable characters that you can't help but fall in love with. While this can be read as a stand alone, it fits in with the other books beautifully. A true roller coaster of emotions from start to finish.

I could wax poetic about the moronic, one-dimensional way in which this love story is arranged, put down with a boatload of details the nigh interchangeable stamp and utter juveline feel of the two leads, and chop off the entire book as an exercise in futility which I only read through in the hope that things would improve. Instead, let me just dwell on the terrible quality of the writing. Typos and mispellings and grammatical errors extend to even the most mundane words and syntax (the same thing obtains for all matters relating to punctuation, Mrs Theia and commas in particular being mutually irreconcilable):
"I sounded like a complete tool [FOOL!] that any Miley Cyrus teeny fan would approve of and with one more longing look at his dark hazel eyes filling my screen, I clicked out of his image"
"I was a child progeny [PRODIGY!], it was in my DNA to want to be the best"
"lust heavy as a bolder"
"luckily for me, my other two apps, skater related for the kids, was [WERE!] still bringing me in a steady income"
"my work load had lessened this week since Sena, and I had finished up the final run through for the shoe website and it had went [GONE!] live with no hitches at all"
"Tom arched his brow mid forehead" (EYEBROW! or else, the entire statement is grossly tautological).
"There was plenty of cock to have in the fashion world. It (THEY!) practically threw itself (THEMSELVES!) at me some days and it was all beige noise (WHITE NOISE!) etc.
The book is full of quixotic formulations, some of which I am not sure even belong to any country's English slang, and all kinds of malaproprisms:
"not when my left hand did just fine. At least when Mr. Palmer and his five brothers took me out for a dance I didn’t have to bother kicking them out of bed afterward"
"I was so far out of the model's league I was best friends with Pluto"
"I was floundering like a duck without its feather"
"my tongue weighed about as much as a house inside my mouth"
"I couldn’t stop the tirade of joy even if I wanted to"
"(I) schlepped the too-many blocks away to the same donut place"
"I can stay, but I’ll be honest I can’t drink any more coffee. I’m tasting colors right now"
"I was out of my damn tree" etc.
Weirdly structured sentences are aplenty, too:
"it’s then, once we made it across the traffic onto the other side of the street he opened his mouth"
"we were almost the same height, he had a couple inches on me, but his build was so much bigger in real life" etc.
Muddled, if not outright unintelligigle, utterances and strings of sentences abound, most of them resulting from the outrageous wording:
"fuck, I was tired and so far behind I was close to catching myself coming back around again. And if I were in any way more alert I might made sense out of that load of bullshit. But as it stood at… I flicked a gaze to the digital clock … 11:04 pm, my brain was half asleep and I internally groaned that I needed to crash sometime soon"
"sand shifted under my feet giving me thoughts of earthquakes and how useless I’d be to be in one. Academia was my forte, nothing manual or crisis-like for me"
"we were almost the same height, he had a couple inches on me, but his build was so much bigger in real life"
"I’d never had a problem flirting before or engaging in those stupid conversations with strangers. It could well be classed as a cardio workout for me sometimes but looking at the object of all my fantasies and my tongue weighed about as much as a house inside my mouth" etc.
Such appalling writing quality would be enough to cause even the best plot bunny in the entire literary world to plummet down in flames.

This story is epic. What started out as a random bet between roommates, turns into a whirlwind romance. Who would have thought your celebrity crush would turn into the love of your life? That’s what happens to Mack, a sexy young man of 19 years. He is a reformed hacker turned IT expert who prefers the company of his laptops than his friends. He is a total workaholic, spending days in front of his computers hashing out his new app. When his well meaning, but clueless roommates challenge him to get a love life, somehow they come up with a bet that he couldn’t bed his crush, super model Tom Cohen.
Oh yeah, did I forget to mention this one is all about the boys? M/M love at it’s cutest. Tom is a bit stoic and closed off from people. He is also several years Mack’s senior. Tom takes a minute to warm up to the idea of dating, but Mack is so sexy and sweet he has no choice but to fall.
They have the hottest sex life. The passion they had for each other rolled off of the pages and scorched my fingertips. I couldn’t get enough of these two. I have no idea if sex between two men is this fiery, but the author sure made me want to live vicariously through them. At least be a fly on the wall and get my jollies.

I was wondering how to sum up Manhattan Bet in a few words, because over on the other site you have to leave a header to your review, and the phrase that kept running through my mind was.... A Queer Never Looked Or Tasted So Good.

Tom Cohen is the, making six figures, super hot, totally fine, Male model.
Not normally the obvious couple to put together, but Mack has THE hugest crush on Mr. Cohen and makes no secret of it. He's that obsessed that his friends challenge him to a little bet. Meet and hook up with Tom Cohen by Mack's 20th birthday.
We all know that nothing good ever comes from making those kind of bets, especially when Mack meets Tom in a local diner/cafe/eatery.
Mack is a charmer and sees the bright side to most situations, so when the only seat available is at Mack's table, he turns on the charm and doesnt want to take no for an answer.
What ensues from that unexpected encounter is nothing short of steamy, droolworthy and sooooo hot. Things are going well. OMGGGGG!!!!! THIS MM ROMANCE WAS A-MAAZING!! I'm still reeling how gorgeous and fun and funny it was!! I am wary of when one of my fave authors dips their toes into the MM verse, because most f*** it up! i shouldn't have worried at all. Every word. Every scene. The story, the characters, the gorgeous lines and the sex were amazing, beautiful, perfect. everything I want from a MM romance!!
I fell instantly for Mack and his confidence. I could relate to his squirrel brain and wanting to do 1000 things at once. He is young, but the author didn't make him stupid/annoying. I loved that he went after what he wanted, even the unobtainable celebrity model. The BET aspect was nicely .... and subtly done, so much so that I was surprised when it came about because I got roped into the romance so much.
What I enjoy about a Theia book, besides the hot sexyness that few authors do so well, and memorable lines, is she writes about families and the flaws within. This was no exception and I thought it was heart-sad and good at the same time how Tom dealt with his.
Now I'm waiting for the secondary characters books!!

There aren't enough superlatives in the dictionary to explain how much I loved this book. Tom Cohen isn't a typical romance lead and neither is Mack Hennessey. Whatever their character flaws are as individuals (it's refreshing that they're so self aware) they more than make up for as they find their way toward happiness, understanding, love and with that improving themselves as individuals. V Theia delivers this story with all the humor, heart, heat, and sweetness that I love in all of her work. However Manhattan Bet has an added bonus for me due to there being just enough romance to sweep me away and just enough reality that I believe even more today than I ever have that love redeems, everyone deserves a second chance, first impressions aren't always the best and that couches are the BEST piece of furniture ever created!!💕I

Tom.... what can I say I adore him.

Words cannot describe how much I loved these two. And this is coming from a person who really wanted to hit Tom with the way he treated Sena, this was perfection the pair complimented each other. You have to read these two because you will not be disappointed.
