The secrets of the universe lie waiting to be discovered, True-Believers, on a JOURNEY TO UNKNOWN WORLDS!
This was an interesting issue, I think. I’ll confess that I didn’t look anything up before reading it. So I have no idea if this is a one-off or the start of a series, or just them testing the waters. Sometimes I like going into a new series not knowing much (and thus not getting a chance to form too many expectations). There are two different stories told in this issue, both are short story format. Both depend on the idea that otherworldly creatures have made their way to earth. Like a lot of alien stories, things get weird very quickly, and naturally, things don’t go so great for the humans making first contact. This issue felt like a throwback to some classic sci-fi, and I have to admit that I really loved that. The tone was spot on, and in a way so were the plots themselves. I think they were really well thought out on the whole.
