Tempted by one woman and obsessed with another–Wade is trapped between trust and lust.
The competitive Northwest craft brewing market forces Wade Michaels to ask for help when he makes a big move to expand Mosquito Creek Brewing.
Trust runs deep in the small town of Ashwood. His girlfriend, Iris supports him every time he launches a new craft beer. Dating Iris makes sense . . . she smart, independent, and understands him.
Wade's family agrees to pitch in and help his new venture succeed. His cousin begins construction on the rustic taproom, and his sister moves to Ashwood to run it for her big brother.
Yet, even all this help isn’t quite enough. Wade needs more capital . . . and that money comes with enticing strings attached.
The brewery’s biggest investor sends an unexpected woman to manage the expensive expansion. Ravenna is smart, sexy as hell, and stunning . . . but Wade doesn’t know if he can trust her.
Will this petite executive use her position of power to control his future in the high-stakes brewing world? Or, will she warn Wade about a plot that could bring him down?
Kinney Scott lives near Puget Sound, on the rainy side of Washington State. Her steamy heroes and complex heroines feel most at home in the rugged and uniquely romantic environments of the Pacific Northwest.
When she has a moment away from her computer, Kinney escapes to her garden or takes a quick hike with her husband and dogs on trails near her home.
I was curious as to how the author will resolve the conflict. Wade is in a new relationship that makes sense but is very much attracted to another woman he just met. I don’t know how I feel about reading the steamy sex scenes between Wade and the woman who he may not end up with. Steven’s character is very cold and calculating - first-rate douche, what is he really after? This is one complicated love story, has a great conflict, and good twist. Hard to put down. They have to work together. She runs the local dive and he brews the beer. They have one night but things will change when he gets help to grow his brewery. Trouble will soon follow but what will it be? Follow him and see

this was the second book in this series and to me another long drawn out book! he wants to start a new brewery. his girl friend has no problem with it. than he meets a hot woman who could spell trouble. read to find out why.
Enjoyable second book in this series. The story was suspenseful, emotional, and sexy. The characters were well developed and relatable. This book had me conflicted. On one hand I wanted Wade to follow up on his attraction to Ravenna, but on the other hand he was already in a relationship with Iris which seemed to be working. He does get his HEA eventually but at a high cost. Look forward to reading the rest of the series.
Welcome back to Ashwood . Wade is working hard on expanding his brewery and when he comes back from Vegas he has investors for his brewery but they come with strings . When Ravenna walks into Wade's life she has the power to either save him and his brewery or destroy it .Will they be able to put their past behind them and find the love that they deserve .
The characters in this story are well written and you will like them . Wade is a sweet guy that is so stressed out . He is trying hard to be there for everyone and get his brewery up and running .There is a lot of pressure to be the best . I was kind of mad at him from jumping from Iris to Ravenna . I wanted to slap him . I felt that he was a cad when he did that . Iris is the sweet owner of the bar and grill in town and she and Wade are best friends but they do have a spark when you start reading the story. Ravenna well she is sexy and kind of devious . You will like her and hate her at the same time she is sweet and kind deep down you will either like her or hate her.
When I sat down to read this book I was a little bit off kilter . I actually was reading them out of order so I was a little confused at the beginning , but by the 2nd chapter I had it all figured out . Wade and Iris are a great couple but Wade and Ravenna are a super hot couple . The story has intrigue , romance and lots of laughs and some tears will flow . There are some twists and turns that will keep turning pages all night long . There is a few spots where it seemed to be a little slow and you kind of feel like you are getting a little bogged down . That didn't stop me from loving the story and the characters . This would be a great book to curl up with in front of a fire with a nice glass of wine . Add it to your fall reading list

Emotions are high, feelings change, people are acting differently , Matt and Ravenna including. Kinney Scott brings us another great book in this series, with a roller coaster of feelings, actions and reactions. This is a must read book ( read them in order, less confusion that way) and you'll find out more about the people in Ashwood and what goes on there. I wish I could give it more then 5 stars, because this book and the series deserve a lot more.
I haven't read the first in this series, but this reads as a standalone. I thought the plot with the beer brewing business and corporations was fascinating and made it and interesting read. I think what soured me on Wade a little was the sub plot with Iris. Without spoiling the entire plot, I liked Iris a lot and was hoping for more with her story line. I get why things happened the way they did with her for the rest of the story to happen, but I felt like it made several characters look crass and a little uncaring.
Even with not liking that particular plot element, I would have rating this a solid 4.5 because the story did keep me engrossed...except when I was taken out of the story. There were several editing issues in the book that pulled me out of certain scenes. Like, having a your/you're mix up right in the middle of what had been a hot sex scene threw me right out the scene. That was not the only scene that error occurred in either. I think with another round of edits, this would be a solid story for people who like love triangles
This is book two in the Ashwood series, it can be read as a stand alone. I found this book a little strange as it starts off with a surprise engagement party for Seth and Natalie but yet during the party there are multiple match ups going on. I was a little confused at which couple's story that this book was going to tell. This book is about Wade and Iris, now these two crossed paths in the small business world that exists in their town but there has never been any sparks between them until the surprise engagement party. This is a small town with all the small town nuances so how in the world do you hook up with someone and then the next day just go about your merry way and hope to heaven that no one finds out about it? This was a good story surrounding the bumps and bruises of Iris and Wade's road to HEA but also gave the reader a glimpse of the possible couples to come in the future books of this series. I cannot wait to continue the series and see how Ashwood expands its little town.

I'm not really bit on love triangles, or would this one be a love square??
Living in Ashwood Wade Michaels has made a successful business with his brewing company. But now his brews are becoming more successful that his little business outside of Ashwood is no longer large enough to support the demands. Going to Vegas to meet with investors brings more trouble to Wade's front door than he can deal with right now. Ravenna has made a career helping breweries out with the beginning troubles they may have with mass marketing. She grew up in the business and only wants to see other succeed. However, working with Wade she discovers her company has ulterior motives and now must decide if she should put her career at risk to help out Wade.
I enjoyed this story, but I think my biggest complaint was the side relationships for both Wade and Ravenna. There was so much time spent building up the feelings that Wade and Ravenna have for each other, yet they were off screwing their respective partners that I just wished there was more time for Wade and Ravenna.
I highly enjoyed the storyline and characters in this 2nd book of the Ashwood series! Wade, Ravenna, and Iris made for a strong love triangle and I found myself rooting for both of them along the way for different reasons. Wade is a nice guy who runs a brewery in Ashwood. He is part of the close knit community and is well liked by all, including Iris, the woman who runs a local pub/restaurant. As they seem to become closer, and share some very steamy scenes together, Ravenna crosses Wade's path while working and he can't get her out of his mind. The feeling is mutual and soon these two are caught in a game of stealing glances from each other. Outside of the love triangle, the plot itself is really well done and kept me interested to see how it would all end. The touching moments between Ravenna and Wade left me swooning for more and I was so happy to see many of the characters from the first book in the series, including Seth and Natalie! Great read; highly recommend a glass of wine giving it a whirl!
Kinney Scott did as good or better job on book 2 in the Ashwood Series as she did on book 1. Wade, Ravenna, and Iris made for a strong love triangle and you cant help but root for both of them. Wade is a nice guy who runs a family brewery in Ashwood. The steamy moments between Ravenna and Wade left me wanting more I loved that she incorporated the characters from book one. You get another glimpse of Seth and Natalie! Great read; highly recommend this series.
If you are looking for a simple pleasurable read this book may not be for you. It is a complicated thought provoking read that will keep you guessing and engaged. There are a lot of characters in this book and several sub-stories going on. I would have to say that one of the things I ended up really liking about it was the brewing aspect. I was different and kept me intrigued. I don't want to give any spoilers so what I can say is if you like to be challenged and taken on a thought provoking journey then I would pick this book up ASAP and give it a read.

I had never read any of Kinney's books until I downloaded inheriting trouble. All I can say is I am now in love with the characters from the series and I've read the first 2 books in 3 days! This is a massive achievement for me as I am a single mum to 4 children aged 2-12 so I have really had to squeeze them in!! The first 2 books have drawn me in from the very first paragraph and I haven't been able to put them down! I will definitely be carrying on until I have read them all!! I would recomend that anybody who hasn't tried Kinney's work, try this series xx
I think because i didn't read the previous book i found the story confusing at the beggining as I didn't know who the charecters were. I enjoyed the whole brewery concept that was added to the story. In general though i enjoyed the story, Wade, Iris and Ravenna love triangle 😉.
This is a quick and easy read. The storyline is well-crafted, intriguing, suspenseful, has drama and steam. The characters are defined, and likable with sizzling chemistry. I liked it.

I had issues with this book right from the beginning. I felt like we were following multiple couples beyond Wade. I never got into this book, I'm not sure why this was but it took me a lot longer to read this book than it should have.
That can mean opportunities to grow and develop new beginnings. The path we choose can be so many things. For this barista the path leads her to her destiny.
