The Pack #1

The Pack: Addison

Rate this book
"A torrid, addictive wolf in shifter's clothing."

------------------

Addison Savaughn's only sin was being born at the wrong time, to the wrong bloodline.

Celestine Savaughn kept her daughter isolated, locked away from the world.

As the last descendant of the Devinforge blood line, Addison had a destiny greater than she had it in her to imagine, a destiny that required sacrifice - great sacrifice.

So instead of dolls and pretty dresses, Addison had her knives and pistols. Instead of school, Addison had drills and patrols. Instead of friends, Addison had Mama and the Hunters' Guild.

Still, there was just one problem. Addison didn't believe a word of it.

She didn't believe in Mama. She didn't believe in the Guild. And she certainly didn't believe in wolves with hair on the inside.

Grea (pronounced Gray) Alexander is a female writer of African American, Native American and Caucasian...American descent who does not write her profiles in the 3rd person.

Born and raised in Houston, TX, I have successfully wormed my way across many a border and have, in effect, managed to infect all that I survey with my particular brand of grea-ness. My books are very character-driven with a focus on flawed, dynamic, culturally-diverse characters and strong, smart female protagonists.

----

Also, please note: I do not write children's books. My books are for adults. My books contain adult themes, adult situations, sexual situations, cursing, intoxication and violence. Some books have more than others. Some characters engage more than others. If you find such offensive, you might not want to read my work. Then again, you just might feel naughty and want to read them anyway. (wink)

Q: How do you pronounce Grea?

Like the color gray. Or as an admirer once pointed out, like great without the t. (grin)

Q: Why the name SeaMonkey Ink?

Why not? (grin) What's not to love? I mean it's Ink squirting out of a Seamonkey. I mean sure no one has ever witnessed such a phenomenon, but that doesn't mean it couldn't happen. (laugh)

Seriously, when I was in school (high school and beyond) I used to play pranks under various code names - one of which was Seamonkey. I also have always enjoyed writing and back when I started to do so, I used to write everything by hand (which requires either lead or Ink) even long after I got my first word processor and computer. After I finally started typing directly, it still took ink to print.

Hence SeaMonkey Ink.

Q: Have you ever actually owned Seamonkeys?

Actually, I have and I'm pretty well convinced that there is a wanted poster with my name and likeness up somewhere in the SIA (Seamonkey Intelligence Agency) headquarters for mass genocide. (laugh) I try but I fail.

Q: Are any of your characters based on people you know/knew in real life?

Not really. Most are composites. However, I will say that more than a little of my own personality/thoughts/expressions pop up in my stories and among my characters.

For instance, in Rebellion Book I: Book of Quay, Phong Quay makes a statement that one day he is changing his name and not telling anyone what he changed it to. I've said that to people since I was like 5 - particularly when I get agitated at being disturbed.

So, if any real life person is used as a template for some of my dialogue and character behaviors it would be myself.

Here it is at last: Grea Alexander's version of a werewolf story.

Believe it or not, I had originally written this story in 1996. So, considering it already existed, I had assumed it would be a quick edit and there it would be.

WRONG. The writer I was twenty years ago, is NOT the writer I am today. While the original version was popular on Seamonkey ink (back around a decade or so ago when I posted it), I decided I wanted to take Addison's story in an entirely new direction.

So, about a week ago, I scraped pretty much the whole thing except for the four new chapters I had already written and in five days I wrote a completely different novel. (laugh)

This new version is a lot darker than the previous version. And if I have any old fans reading this, it's not the same story AT ALL except for a few paragraphs here and there.

We have Addison who has been training her whole life for this grand destiny yet who thinks it's all rubbish. We have Blake who is her sexy, mysterious but more than a little sadistic task master. We have Talon James - the big bad wolf himself and we have Bristol who....let's just say has a few tricks up her own sleeve.

And last but not least, we have the Hunters' Guild - the dog catchers of the werewolf world who kind of made a pact with the devil that is about to expire.

There's of course lots of sex, violence, angst and layers (as I guess I'm kind of known for). As with Cabello, this isn't a book for sensitive folk.

I had a lot of fun writing this. I hope you'll enjoy it and I hope you'll come back for The Pack: Bristol.

Cheers!

Well Grea Alexander, there you go hooking your literary claws back into me. The Pack : Addison is the beginning of a great new series. Set in the 1800s (era stories with a twist of contemporary are Ms. Alexander's forte) it chronicles the machinations of Talon James, Bristol, Blake and of course this installment is dedicated to Addison. I'm not going to give any spoilers but rest assured that this series will involve, Werewolves and Hunters and loads of twisted romance and passion.

"Tonight....he would finally take her. Tonight he would finally make her a woman"

WTF!!! Are people not women before some man sticks his....

Couldn't read past this rubbish. And apparently a woman wrote this. Well she should know better than to perpetuate this ***
