Daphne Davidson has a problem. She broke up with her boyfriend a month ago and she still hasn’t found a date for her sister’s upcoming wedding. If she goes solo, she’ll be inundated with sly comments about how she can’t keep a man. They aren’t wrong. She can’t keep a man because she’s never dated the one she really loves—her best friend, Jack Reese.
Detective Jack Reese has been secretly in love with Daphne since he knew what love was. Yet she’s never shown any interest in him and he decided to be friends was better than nothing. When he finds out that she’s diving into the pit of vipers she calls a family, he’s determined to protect her. Going undercover as Daphne’s date means holding her hand, kissing her lips, and pretending to be in love. The latter part isn’t hard. What’s tough is resisting the urge to claim her.
Childhood friends now in their 30s now who are in love but date op in order to not ruin their friendship/don’t know the other feels the same.
And the hero? His worst nightmare: “I’d rather have her in my life than not have her at all” bs.. UM NO! Your worst nightmare would actually be watching the woman you’re in love with fall in love with someone else because you were too chicken shit to test a friendship which would have dissolved if she was in a serious relationship anyway. Gtfoh. How could he even watch her date OM on the sidelines like some drowned rat for 15 years?
And then to find out that they are virgins and I was like... heh 🤣🤤😮😵 but, but it does NOT fit in with the story so huh? How, why? They’ve dated OP, done other things w/ OP but nooooo apparently sex was a line crossed too far. I mean. Like one of my favourite ever tropes is a virgin H/h, but it makes zero sense in this story. ZERO. Let’s be real I would have complained if they didn’t wait either because there was no winning in this situation.
My not so guilty pleasure. Ending seemed a bit rushed. Otherwise totally worth it. I just wish her sister and family got some rude awakening for being so horrible. What I loved most was, both MC’s were virgin even though they are almost 30 year old. I wasn’t expecting that with hero. Recommended.
I had mixed feelings while reading the story. I didn't know if I liked it more or not. There's a lot of details about their past. I'm just glad they're both virgins.
The story's about Jack and Daphne.
She's a lawyer and he's a detective. They've been best friends since they're kids. They knew everything about each other. Well, expect for the fact they're in love with one another.
Her sister's getting married and her mother has been asking her why she can't keep a man. She panicked and told her she has a date for the wedding. The truth, her boyfriend broke up with her a month ago. Will she go to the wedding alone or will she accept Jack's offer to be her pretend boyfriend?
I liked Jack. He's always there to defend and protect her and I loved that! But I can't say the same about Daphne. I didn't hate her. I just didn't like that she let her family treat her that way. I wanted her to stand up for herself and be confident.
Not my favourite by Ella... I was simply bored more than I wasn't. Also, the love story line didn't lie with me nicely... They're friends for a very long long time and in love almost forever? Oh well, if they were they'd worked on it sooner, wouldn't they?
Too many stories out there with the typical manwhore H and virgin h. I really get into the dual virgin stories or even celebate H/h stories and this one was fantastic. What made it better was that the H/h have been best friends since they were kids. I love this trope as long as one doesn't pine away for the other and have to watch them screw everything within a 20 mile radius (Yuk). -dual virgins -no cheating -h's family was horrible -dual POV -no abuse (well, maybe some verbal abuse towards h by her horrid family -loved how they loved each other. The only downside to this one was no epilogue. Otherwise, it was a great read.
This was a fun quick read, however I found some of the stuff that was in this book a little unbelievable. I like how they were friends to begin with but man that changed real quick.
I was truly happy to see Ella Goode coming back from her hiatus. And this story was definitely worth of a come-back. It was sweet, sexy and fun—even though the ending was a bit rushed and the heroine's family made my headache a lot worse... *rolling eyes*
I really enjoyed this book and hope the author writes more like it. It was such an amazing change to most of the romance books out there now. It was very sweet and made me so happy I read it.
This was a quick short read and i sooo wish it was abit longer and i so wish both Jack qnd Daphne bitch slapped and said some shit to daph family.. i wanted to kick someones ass and it was bossy bratty wendy and the mom they were peoples you wanted to kick slap and just strangle... i swear... now we have Jack who is such a sweetheart, and charming always there for his bestfriend Daphne even with his hard on crush on her.. as for Daph she's witty, smart and stubborn and like Jack she been crushing on her best friend forever.. both don't wanna act on it incase things dont work out and they lose one another.. which i totally get.. but they both say fuck it and jump right into eachother after a horrible wedding...
Low angst, no ow/om, no cheating, secondary chara, sexy times.. BOTH ARE VIRGINS AT 30 they both assumed the other already lost there vcards but didnt.

This was such a cute and fun read. There was one scene that had me laughing so hard. She’s rambling on and thinks he’s not listening to her...so she starts making stuff up😂😂😂. For instance: Me: “I heard that Parker’s new hire in the clerk’s office is smuggling dog biscuits laced with weed into the jail because she’s fallen in love with one of the prisoners.” Jack: “Mmmmhmmm.” Me: “I ate two of them and they aren’t bad. I’ll text you the recipe. The ones with the deer urine are the best.” Jack: “Sure. I’ll look for it.” Me: “Be careful of the testicles though. Those can be overly chewy.” Jack: “Mmmmmhmmmm.” Funniest thing....ever.
These two have been besties since they were little, and apparently have been in love with each other since college. This was a safe read for me, they dated other people, but neither had sex with anyone else...yeah, so they were both 30 year old virgins. Kinda feel like that should be a movie...just sayin. He’s her date for her horribly spoiled sister’s wedding and they finally give in. No ow drama, a little om drama, the ex, but they handle it. Two sweet virgins finally getting what they both want. This was an hfn, with a Monday wedding date set, but I would have loved to see an epilogue for these two, especially since they waited f-o-r-e-v-e-r to be with each other. But still a really cute and funny read, adored it.
This is a short, cute, funny, sexy story about childhood friend who have been in love with each other but to scared to admit it. Finally, the right time appears and BOOM that is when the magic happens. Over all great read, loved the chemistry and the drive they both have for each other.

This was my first dual virgin story and I really enjoyed the characters along with the friendship they have had for years.
Daphne needs a date to her sisters wedding so that she doesn’t look like a spinster in front of her whole family. Problem is she broke up with her boyfriend a month ago. The only person she can think of to take is Jack. And they have been friend since they were kids and she knows he may go with her. Now to convince him he has to go.
Detective Jack Reese has been in love with Daphne since they were kids and when she asks him to go to her sisters wedding as her date he can’t resist spending time with her. She has never shown him even an inkling that she feels the same way he does but maybe she will see what a great catch he is. He knows what a joke her “family” is and he takes the chance to go undercover as her date.
Daphne and Jack show up to the wedding and of course no one believes that they are dating. So of course they do everything they can to make sure that people know she isn’t single. I have to say that her sister is absolutely ridiculously mean to her and her family isn’t that much better!! I rooted for her the whole time and was so satisfied when her and Jack were able to show them what was really happening.
These two were the cutest couple and I am so glad that I read this beauty!! And this should totally be a movie like the 40 year old virgin but TIMES TWO ten years younger. Yeah I would totally watch that!!
I am really hoping that there is going to be a sequel for these two!! They waited FORFREAKINGEVER to get this thing going now I want more!!
Thank you so much to Ella for the free review copy in exchange for my honest opinion!
Meh... This one was an okay story to read to waste away the cold day.
Daphne and Jack have been in love with each other forever. And while everyone else around them can see if, apparently these two are so good at hiding these feelings from each other...(yet one is a detective and the other a lawyer).
Jack describes Daphne as the perfect woman because she beautiful, strong and doesn't allow people to walk all over her. Yet...that's exactly what happens with her family. I'm sorry, the woman in 30 years old and has been dealing with her family treating her like a second-class citizen. I'd say it's time to cut the strings and give it up baby girl.
While this is a short novella I still would've liked to get a better glimpse at Jack and his family life. We know all about Daphne and how they think she'll die an old spinster and that Jack is too good for her. But what about his family? Do they see this "love" between these two characters everyone else can?
Make Me Yours by Ella Goode is a quick friends-to-lovers read. Daphne Davidson needs a date to her sister’s wedding so her mother stops asking her why she can’t keep a man. But no man measures up to her best friend, Detective Jack Reese. But they are friends and she does not want to lose him. Jack has been fantasizing about Daphne for years, but he would rather have her in his life as a friend than not at all.
Can you take a step out of the friend-zone and not risk it all? When Jack agrees to be her date, he knows it will be hard to hide his feelings. But now they will need to act as if they were dating, but what if it is not an act? Make Me Yours by Ella Goode is a quick, sexy read with lots of chemistry.
I always enjoy best of friends falling for each other kind of story. Jack and Daphne are such lovable characters. Both are good natured, kind and loyal. I feel for Daphne whose family does not appreciate her and always puts her down despite her achievements and even so, she still such a wonderful daughter and sister. Jack on the otherhand is very loyal, always has her back and always been in love with her. The turn of events when they finally gave their feelings a go because of the circumstances was really awesome. I was giggling and so taken by their intensity. Love it!
This was a short, sweet and read. Daphne and Jack definitely do belong together; they'll just be the last ones to figure that out. It was a last minute read — a #BookSister Recommended — and, like always, it was worth it.
Not the first time reading Ella Goode and will for sure be checking out her stuff in the future.
