Riley Allen wasn’t the woman, or the bar owner, people assumed her to be. Success with her business may have been keeping her busy, but deep down, Riley craved more. In the past, everything she’d ever known had left her, leading Riley to believe she was destined to be alone and fearing she would never be good enough for another woman again. New Yorker, Nicole Taylor, had moved her life to follow her career. With the promise to herself that work was her number one priority, her only love, she had no plans to change that when it came to looking for or wanting more. But life changed when she stepped inside her local bar…

I found the personalities of both mcs so similar and one I didn’t enjoy at that ... they took turns being timid, insecure and immature and combined with both instalove and lack of chemistry I found myself more and more put off by them .. I was on the verge on dnfing around 60% but yaaa
ahhhhhh the search for more memorable f/f na for me continues
This is one of those books I've kept for desperate times. If I have nothing to read... but that will never happen, so a very nice woman wrote a great review and I had to read it! It's a Melissa Tereze original and of course amazing! Romance, fear, doubt, betrayal and love with hot scenes! I love how she writes the sensual part with all the hotness! Must read!
I have read some of the authors other works and looking forward to this one but this book left me disappointed. The characters rubbed me the wrong way and the immaturity and constant jealousy and drama just didn’t feel right at their ages. High school romance I can see that but not 30 something adults one who is a professor and the other a business owner was way over the top for me. Now you would think I wouldn’t finish the book but I did because the sex scenes and craving for one another I enjoyed but all the drama left me with wanting more for the book.
Love Will Set You Free Riley is a business woman and bar owner. She loves what she has made of her bar but she is so injured inside after having her heart shattered. She doesn’t think she will ever be good enough to have love in her life again. Nicole is new to town. She’s a sexy professor with hurts of her own. She has promised herself that work will be her focus and she is ok with that, until she steps into Riley’s bar. The two women are drawn to each other from the start but given their pasts, things won’t be easy…
I thought this was an adorable, wonderful story. I loved the attraction and emotions the leads have for each other. Riley and Nicole are sexy, cute, strong and delightful. Riley had recent pain but Nicole was so strong and willing to help her through it. Of course things aren’t all rosy and there are roadblocks and trials to get through but their love is worth the angst. There was one thing that bugged me to no end and that was when they tested each other they followed their names or initials with X. Every single time and right from the start. It’s not that big of a deal to most people but it was to me. But hey, if that’s the worst I have to say then really, it must be good. I think you will enjoy it as much as I did!
Bar owner, Riley is a complex character carrying a lot of hurt, then she meets Nicole. The attraction is instant, but both Riley and Nicole have a lot to work through. They have amazing chemistry, despite how often then misunderstand each other.
With a whole lot of drama, this story provided a fast paced, exciting romance that was most enjoyable and really easy to read. I very much found myself getting lost in the emotion flowing between Riley and Nicole as they worked hard to overcome everything trying to get in the way of their happiness, including past demons, and dreaded exes.
I would recommend this story to anyone who likes their romances with a heavy dose of angst, complex characters, and a serving of Jameson.
Enjoyable, but frustrating with how the characters reacted at times. Almost over the top?
I did enjoy the book and the sizzling love-making scenes, but at times it felt like the gals were over-reacting. Some of this is explained by the end of the book, but while they are going through turmoil, you are just scratching your head as to why if they are in this dramatic love for each other they could so easily give up on it as well. I suppose the idea is the more you love someone, the real possibility of being hurt can immediately make you run away from it?
I have to say that this story caught me from the first words. There was just something about Riley and Nicole that pulled at my heart. I was so deeply taken in that I cried when they went through their rough patch and smiled with a YES! when things were corrected. This is how love should be. All In. I love the writing style of Melissa Tereze. Definite Must Read!
Beautifully written novel about two souls in search for the real thing. Forgoing the obstacles, forgiveness in their hearts, Riley and Nicole found the ultimate gift in their journey to accept love. A good read. I love the works of this author ... the characters and plots are real and can make the reader feel what the characters feel! I heartily recommend this and all of Melissa’s books. Thank you Peace
A romantic story of fighting for your love with some very sexy intimate scenes . The narrative between Riley and Nicole was brilliantly written, as the reader I was drawn in to the world created by Melissa Tereze and could picture myself sitting in the bar as one of the locals. I couldn't stop reading this brilliant book, Highly recommended
Riley really had it rough with her break up with Amanda, that put her in a tailspin. Along came Nicole and stole her heart away and breath life back into her. The ups and downs that almost tore them apart were weathered and overcome by their love. This story was well written and the storyline was well developed.
Awersome read . About a womanman, (Riley) whose finance had cheated on her ,became bitter and didn't trust women. Until Nicole walked into her bar. But life made Nicole wary. This is a story about trust, anger, hope and much more.Melissa Terreze (author L
It’s not overly complex but it’s a sweet love story of two women falling head over heels with each other and the little things that get in the way (jealousy and insecurities). They’re really cute together and the story flows rather well. I will look for more from this author.
Beautiful story but sometimes the dialogue and the inter thoughts felt unrealistic. How is possible to question yourself and your relationship so many times. Is not attractive at all. Thus the repeat was a bit tiring. Otherwise nice story.
I love Tereze's books, I do, but this one was...a little on the side of disappointing. It looks like the author knew what she wanted with this book but either had to speed up or shorten her writing so everything became jumbled and unenjoyable to read at some point...
A little shallow all the way through. The conversations between characters was unrealistic and forced. Cute story but not as good as this authors other books
This was a good read but not the best from this author. The main characters were both flawed by past experiences and this came out as the story progressed. Their past lovers really did a number on them and in the early days it nearly ruined their budding relationship. Tereze’s stories always evoke strong response in the reader and this one doesn’t fall short in that department.
Girl meets girl, they have great chemistry and then girl loses girl. Girl gets girl back and then girl's ex- fiance shows up and tries to win her back. It was predictable but a solid story. I enjoyed it.
I love this book. This is one of the best books I've read. I love the characters the story and the passion. If you like a happy ever after with a loot of love them this book is for you
A sweet story of learning to trust and love again. Both Nicole and Riley had partners who cheated. When they meet, they have to navigate their past heartbreak with their new future together. Always a pleasure to read books by this author.
This book is a smooth read with a simple plot. The lack of severe dramatics is nice, as is the feeling of an actual u-haul couple. I enjoyed the characters and the fact that I didn't have to memorize a whole map of a city to keep track of locations and storyline.
The main characters had been through a lot with relationships. Although they had lots of chemistry, they had some trust issues. Great love scenes with a nice ending.
Bit long-winded, and I couldn't get into it like I do with most of the stories that I read that are similar, but I did like the characters and how it flowed in general
Love melissa's books but this one fell very short. The dialogue is amateurish. Couldn't connect with the characters. They don't know how to communicate like 2 women in their 30s. It's frustrating.
This book just never pulled me in. I’ve enjoyed many of Tereze’s other books to the point I can’t put them down. I liked the story in this, but something about the cadence just didn’t resonate.
