“My Mother’s Apprentice” is a worthy sequel to “Stuck in the Onesies”. The characters change from Barb and Ellie to their daughters Karen and Ginger. The geographical setting expands from the Washington, DC and Eastern Shore to include Jamaica in the Caribbean. Having visited the island, I can attest to accuracy of its vivid portrayal. While the main characters remain friends throughout their life, their story is filled with emotional ups and downs that strain their relationship. It is told in smooth, exciting, and well-written prose. I highly recommend the novel. I look forward to the last novel in the series.
