Are there any protagonists in this? Everyone's super evil or a douchebag. There are parts in this issue that really rubbed me the wrong way. It has become exhausting to read. I'm gonna keep at it for a few more issues because I really want to love this and am hoping a protagonist reveals themself(ves). The art is seriously so beautiful, though.

This series is just fascinating. Easily a new favorite of mine, and one I plan to keep reading. So happy I was able to read an early copy of #4! Thanks to Image for providing the digital edition to me.

There is this one part where the Captain calls the oracle something and it almost made me toss the book away.

If this is the character that these creators are basing this story around, then I don’t really want to be a part of it.

But then the story took a serious turn and maybe the captain isn’t the single focus of this book.

Maybe it is an honest ensemble story.

Given that we spent a significant amount of time learning about Elox, the navigator, then maybe this is a book where I can really not like a character and still find something to enjoy in this reading. Because the story of Elox was great. And the conflict in this book is both exciting and horrible. I like how the story concluded.

I’ll give it another issue.

SciFi Horror

This has a nice "Event Horizon" feel, with an interesting gallery of characters. I just picked it up here at Issue #4, and it may develop slowly, but the series seems to be worth keeping an eye on.

(Please note that I had a chance to read a free ecopy of this book without a review requirement, or any influence regarding review content should I choose to post a review. Apart from that I have no connection at all to either the author or the publisher of this book.)

Who can we trust on the crew of the Charon? Everyone seems to hate Captain Riggs so how long will it take before someone tries to put him on ice? Shit hits the fan at the end of this issue which leads into the two part finale of the first story arc.

A 3.5* for this issue. The world building is quite cool. The art still feels a little too simple for me. Horror elements arw always great.

A member of the crew reveals us some of his thoughts and narrates the story. As for the writing what is interesting is that not one of the crew members is the typical nice guy.
