The road to love can be a dangerous journey when you’ve got two eligible bachelors fighting for your attention.
Sebastian, my mid-summer childhood muse, now a renowned lawyer, stared me down with his piercing blue eyes. He wanted me again, I could tell. By the smirk on his face and the way he undressed me with his eyes. "Is it hot in here? Or is it just me?" I fanned myself, trying to get the flush on my face to ease. "Should be illegal to be that hot," Sebastian purred, sending my skin into a goose bumped frenzy.
And then there was Ash, you know him-- the lead singer of Dreams of Compass Gods. Drop dead gorgeous and talent like no other. And the cherry? Well, that was me. "It's most definitely you, princess." Ash winked. You’d think he’d want nothing to do with a normal girl like me.
Three's a crowd? I was crowded-in a hot and bothered way. What am I supposed to do when these two beautiful men want me. Whoever said the most evil boys were the prettiest, were so god dammed right.

This book was about a girl given a new assignment for a magazine, then life changing with a old boyfriend coming back into her life also a new very different man who she has to make her assignment about but true love finds away . I enjoyed reading this book
This was pretty good. I liked Ash (okay not his description so much lol), but he was fun and rather down to earth considering his lifestyle. Sebastian gave me the creeps, which was the whole point of him, I guess. Friends or not, he was just icky! Lillian was good once she decided she deserved more out of life. It ends more like a HFN than a HEA though.

Today was Lillian’s first assignment as a photo journalist for Illusions magazine, but before she even got to her desk, someone in the office dumped coffee all over her shirt! This was not a good way to begin the day. Her friend, Ana, loaned her some clothes, but they didn’t exactly have the same taste in clothing and she was afraid to look at herself in the mirror. She met the writer she was working with for this story and they went to Mercury Lounge to see Dreams of Compass Gods, an up-and-coming rock band featuring bad boy lead singer Ash Bennett. Many times during the interview, she found herself doing eye-rolls at his cheesy flirting! He invited her to come back and listen to them, so she decided to do that. When she heard the passion in his voice as he sang, she knew why the crowd loved him. It felt like he was singing right to her. And when the concert was over and she called a cab, he stopped on his motorcycle to offer her a ride. Was he interested, or just being nice?
When Lillian arrived home, she heard voices in her apartment. Her roommate was there, along with a very big surprise – Sebastian! She hadn’t seen him for many years since his family moved from their home town in Oregon. An even bigger surprise was on Rebecca’s face as she asked her roommate how she knew her step-brother? Neither of them wanted to tell her their history of 10 years ago, so they just said they knew each other before his family had moved. While Rebecca made tea, they caught up a little bit. Lillian told him about her photography job and when Rebecca joined them, she told Lillian that Sebastian was a well-known New York lawyer. He offered to show Lillian around since she had only come to New York in the past two months. Lillian found herself comparing him with Ash. They were very different, and yet she was attracted to both of them. Where would this lead her? Who would she choose if given such a choice?
This was a good story, the characters very realistic and likable. The story line was good as well and perfectly paced. Although a quick read, the reader will find it very enjoyable. Highly recommended!
Lillian is working towards a career as a photo journalist, and her big break came after a successful writer/photographer shoot about Ash. Even more successful was the remaining time she got to spend with Ash- a true rockstar who gave as good as she could. But timing also brought her childhood love into the picture-Sebastian.
Sebastian is a successful lawyer who wants to keep up appearances and hold the power, but he also reminds her of the amazing past they had together. But sadly they might be on opposite paths....
On one hand she has the rockstar with the crazy lifestyle, fans and schedule and on the other a dominant busy lawyer....
I liked this story for it's steaminess, it's chemistry between both men and her, and the small showcase of who she is. But this story left me feeling slightly confused and cast out to sea without oars, I don't understand how she could just leave things unsaid with Sebastian afterwards, or how things just were with them, and especially with the small insight we saw from his pov. I was confused with her and Ash and how the story abruptly ended too.
It says the story is a second chance but it didn't feel like the second chance held much weight to it. The lack of epilogue made me feel lost. This story feels like it needs another book.
I feel like she could love them both, and could form a polyamory style relationship with both too. I kind of had this hope that they'd both want to keep her like two sides of a coin, they each took one side of her heart.....
So yeah I liked the story but I just couldn't fall in love with it.....
Lastly the blurb on the front I didn't get to see at all. I was even searching for it. It would be nice to have seen the struggle between her deciding where her heart lied and them having to share her.

3,5* - Outward appearances are not a reliable indication of true character
I'm happy I gave this book a chance because blurb doesn't give this story a justice. It's kind of misleading. Reading the story I was waiting for thing described in the blurb to happen but couldn't find it. Maybe I missed something. Saying this it didn't affect the fact that I really like the story itself. Some parts could be more developed but I won't say exactly which one as I do not want to give away what happened in the book. For me the story line and the plot was built around saying "Outward appearances are not a reliable indication of true character" and it goes for all three main characters in this book. Going deeper into the story we discover that what was the first impression isn't what the true picture of heroine and heroes are. This read is bittersweet, it is romantic and there is not much drama or angst. I spent really good time enjoying this read and I would really like to see if there is more to the story of the main characters, maybe there will be another part? There are some open threads left that could easily allow to continue the plot.
Allie Hayden has written a story that will keep you reading until the end. The characters that she has created are true to life, therefore, allowing the reader to enter the world that she has created and makes us part of the tale. Lillian must decide if she wants to go back to her young love, or if she should start a new relationship with the man she has just met. Ms. Hayden had me feeling the confusion, the lust, the need for trust and also the insecurities of the female lead! Yet, she also catches the desires, wants, needs and the difference between the male characters, bringing forth both strong leads. The only thing I found that I didn't like, was how short the story was. I hope there may be a sequel to this, as the storyline could continue very easily. I highly recommend this book to all who love romance. Ruth Newton
I have read this as an ARC, and this is my free and honest review.
Allie Hayden’s Off Limits: A Second Chance Rockstar Romance (Hard Rock Love Book 1) is indeed a second chance romance but it’s much better to describe it as s love triangle done hot. Lillian, our heroine here, is going to have some hard thinking to do as at the end of the day only one of the hot guys, Sebastian (hotty from her past who is now a really wealthy lawyer desiring to spoil her) or Ash (hot rock star extraordinaire) will end up with her. Real life lessons are learned along the way in this hot but actually quite complex yet fun novel. Great storytelling here with truly well crafted characters. A read well worth doing. But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises. The book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, and it is easy to highly recommend.
This is my 1st read and review for this author and this is a fantastic story. Lillian has her dream job being a photographer for Illusions magazine, her first assignment was to follow the rock god Ash Bennett. While interviewing him Ash starts flirting with her and he asks her if she wants to see the band perform and there’s no way Lillian is going to knock that back, Lillian now knew why Ash was called a rock god he’s very swoon worthy. Once Lillian gets home her housemates brother Sebastian is there and Lillian is shocked to see him they were a couple over 10 years ago and they both still have feelings for each other. Now Lillian has to make a choice is it going to be her old flame Sebastian who is a well known lawyer or Ash a rock god who will she choose and can she?. This is a fantastic story and I highly recommend this book it’s well worth the read.
Lillian is faced with the ultimate question... Can we go back to find something we think we've lost while still moving forward with the life we've created.
Faced with choice of returning to the lost love of Sebastian and the new potential with Ash, Lillian must chose what's best for her.
Love triangles are difficult and the choices are not easy.
This book was good. I think it could have benefited from being a bit longer. Things moved far too quickly in my perspective the timeline was too condensed to make sense. I also found a few of the catch phrases to be over used and cliche.
I do look forward to exploring this author more with upcoming work. I see the potential and I think that there are bigger and better stories waiting to be shared with us.
Photographer Lillian wants to be a Photo Journalist. Until she’s able to make her dream come true she’s working as a magazine photographer. She’s sent on assignment to cover the band Dreams of Compass Gods’ lead singer Ash. She wants to hate him but finds a man that draws her in.
Lillian also realizes that her roommate’s step-brother Sebastian is a close friend from her childhood. The two try to rekindle what they had a decade ago. Is it even feasible? And what about Lillian’s budding feelings for Ash?
The book never delves into what Lillian and Sebastian did before Sebastian moved away or what traumatic experience caused Lillian to stop playing the piano, which is frustrating. But all in all a good read.
This was a well paced story from a new to me author. The characters were well defined and I loved the way she pulled their history from ten years earlier into the story from the first chapter. Then there was the chemistry between her and Ash as she took photos of him for a magazine story and then went back for his concert that night. What can possibly happen between a lawyer, a musician and a photographer? LOTS. Well worth taking the time to read and enjoy!
********** **Honest review voluntarily provided from a Complimentary Copy**
Lillian is an up and coming photographer working for Illusion magazine, and meets rockstar Ash when he is her new assignment. He is very surprising, for his wonderful caring personality shines through...no wonder she feels so safe with him! Sebastian is her childhood friend/old flame, wanting to start things up with her again. Lillian has a bit of a love triangle, but I have to say the best guy wins out! This is a quick, but truly amazing read!
I'm hoping there's going to be another book to follow this one, as the ending kind of just fell where it was. The story feels like more is missing. There are no scenes with the three main characters together, so the descriptions that I received didn't match with what I read.
I would love to read more about the three main characters, and hope there is more to come.

4.5* This engaging and entertaining Rockstar Romance is well-written with steam, uncertainty, choices to be made and defined characters who are realistic. The reader melds with the world building of this book. The main characters are a lawyer, a rockstar, and a photojournalist and their journeys. I enjoyed this read.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. I hope Allie is not done with Lillian, Sebastian and Ash; I'm not. This steamy novella merely whet my whistle with these three main characters. I'm not done finding out how Ash and Lillian's "relationship" moves forward. And, I do want to find out if Sebastian moves on. BTW, he can buy me expensive clothes any time!!! LOL Perhaps Sebastian is not yet out of the picture? Really Good Short!!!
I give this book 3,5 stars. It is really sweet story and a quick read. My problem with it is that the main character Lillian’s past is only hinted at and I needed some more explanation on why she reacts as she does to the two men and their different ways of per suing her. Ash is the rockstar and a new friend. Sebastian is a lawyer and a childhoodfriend(fling) from her past. Who does she choose😁❤️?
I don't wanna give anything away, I always try 2 be that way when I write reviews, but it is not totally possible all the time, I mean it depends on what every single person thinks is a SECRET or SPOILER, u know??! ...but I immediately had an idea of who I wanted to be together at the end of the HEA read?? i see there are 2 other reads in this series ... will check those out asap!! what a book ... loved it. great characters. what a read, what a book cover! ( :
As well written as the first installment. Didn't really like Sebastian in the first book and still don't really....I did like Ash but now I don't like him either! I'm guessing there is a third installment coming as it ends kind of abruptly but I'm kind of hoping Lillian finds someone Elise entirely! We shall see I guess!

This is an author provided copy. All opinions are solely my own.
Off Limits is book one of the Heartbreaker series. This is a rockstar and second chance romance; however, it is not a second chance with the rockstar romance.
Lillian is a heroine that is timid and trying to make a career as a photographer in a publication like Rolling Stone. Her rockstar is Ash. Her second chance is Sebastian. It gets complicated. Book one ends with a cliffhanger in a happy tone.
Based on the title, I guess I was expecting something dramatic and entertaining. I was really into it at the beginning but at some point, the story lost its appeal and left me wanting. I believe the story had potential but I was not a fan of the characters, It is worth checking out, since this is my opinion.
Always a pleasure to read an author whom I know nothing about. Characters involved were different and Lillian still has me mystified. Ash is the rockstar whose still down to earth, and Sebastian is the ever controlling very wealthy lawyer. Both personalities so different. Lillians decision is between the two.
This story between Lillian and Ash felt like biography, telling the ups and down of beginning a lasting relationship. The ending was sort of a disappointment though, it leaves one wondering if the couple actually do have a happy ever after.
Good story. Well written, but don't let the cover art and the title fool you. This is a sweet story about finding love. Lillian meets Asher through her job as a photographer. Basic boy meets girl, drama ensues and then they live happily ever after.
This book is a pretty good read and I think that the picture of the book gives off as that it will be a M/F/M book but it is not it is more two guys wanting the same girl but the guys don't know and don't even meet in this book
This is an entertaining second chance romance between Lillian and Sebastian with a twist. I thought it was well written and a good storyline. I enjoyed learning about the characters.

I loved that Lillian and Ash took their time to get to know each other. I thought Lillian and Sebastian would have re-connected. I liked the way the story progressed. Great job Ms. Hayden!!
Reunite with an old flame or go for the hot rockstar? One wants to change you into what he wants you to be while the other will break your heart. I liked the twists and turns
