The Quasar Lineage #4

Devlin's Darling

Rate this book

Jenny
Positive thinking, being kind to others, persevering through my illness… those are the cornerstones to my existence. That’s what helped me get through all the medical appointments and the trials of going to college with a lot of very experienced women.
Then aliens stole me from Earth, from everything that made my life safe.  Beautiful tattoos have surfaced on my body… mating marks… marks that tie me to one of the aliens on the prison planet. I’m intrigued—and a little bit scared.  The prisoner whose marks match mine, well he’s really big, and feared by the other aliens.  Will he even like me? I’m not sure what to expect, but I believe in destiny. I’m hoping he won’t turn me away.  He’s all I have now.

Devlin
The smart prisoners here know to stay away from me.  I have my territory—a territory I fought hard for.  No one will take what’s mine from me, especially not a female looking to add me to her harem.  I’ve been used enough and will not return to that life.
When marks erupt all over my body, I wonder if I’ve been infected by a parasite, or someone dares to play a trick on me.  Then I meet the female whose marks match my own.  She’s small, fragile, but strong of spirit. I need to get to know her, to protect her… to make her mine.

not bad, but didn't care about the heroine at. all. or her need to broadcast her baptist religion every chapter. I would recommend it as a filler

It was good but

I hate it when a book ends at 90% I expect it to end without being stuffed. I do NOT need to read chapters of another book! If I wanted that I would purchase said book!

The Quasarians have not had a destined mating among their people for two thousand years. And when two people were destined to mate, matching mating marks would start to appear. Devlin is an inmate on the Quasar prison planet of Dactyles.
When his marks form, he has no idea what they are and thinks they are a disease of some kind.
Lol. But his mate is a woman who was abducted from Earth and rescued by the Discovery starship that delivers prisoners to the planet. Jenny has formed matching mating marks and is brought to the colony to meet her new mate. Now this is an important milestone for the Quasarian people whose men must use a drug much like Earth's Viagra in order to achieve an erection with the side effect that overuse eventually causes impotency. And with so many males and few females on Dactyles there is sure to be trouble, of the mating kind. An entertaining romance that can be a standalone but is much better when read with the others in the series.

"I’m moving forward and treating him as a gift."

In previous books we've caught glimpses of Jenny's story, but here she finally take center stage, with Devlin the Devil, A prisoner on Dactyles who happens to have matching mate marks.

Devlin has survived his life in prison by isolating himself, and not letting anyone close enough to hurt him. When he first hears he has a mate, he has no idea what to make of such a thought... not when his Ermada (think wife on his home world) is the one who had him imprisoned.

This done in one Kindle Unlimited quick read overlaps with two of the previous books, and moves the overarching arc forward, so there are aspects of the action that feel familiar, or anchored in a timeline of events already experienced (this story does extend further/past where the last one ended), but it has a new perspective, and as such uncovers new information.

I love this series

I have read all of this series and when this was available I downloaded but waited until I could read this uninterrupted!
There are some books that you cannot put down and this book will not let you!
This is like a great doughnut, you know this might not be nutritious and wholesome but you love it nonetheless

This is a steamy, easy to steamy read with a HEA.
This can be read as a stand-alone but fits better if you have read the prior books. This is not essential as the author continues to pull threads from the earlier books into each her new works. I like that the characters in each of the books are not copies of earlier characters and I wonder what will come next!

I absolutely love the Quasar Lineage books, Devlin and Jenny’s story is just as fantastic as Bren and Mathias’ story! Hmm I wonder if they might make Devlin a guard or Amari the warden? I guess I’ll have to wait and see in Amari and Rachel’s story and what happens to Beth and Shelly’s story as well, I really hope that at some point all the men rebel on Quasar and take over the planet. Me, being me, I need epilogues, but I’ll settle for Rachel’s story and hopefully see how Jenny is doing. You should really read this book, yes it has a HEA and, especially if you love hunky alien men, also Pearl is an awesome writer.

This is book 4 to The Quasar Lineage and it’s a fantastic addition to this series. There were 8 women that were abducted from college on earth and their ship crash landed on a prison planet and this is Jenny’s and Devlin’s story. Jenny gets all of these beautiful designs all over her body and Devlin gets the same designs as Jenny and from that and the way that Devlin feels protective of this tiny human he knows that she is his mate. There’s action, adventure, danger, suspense, passion and so much more to keep you entertained and turning the pages, I can’t wait for more of this series 4 women down and 4 to go hopefully. I love this book/ series it’s a 5 plus ⭐️ read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

I love this author's writing and imagination!

I love this author's writing and imagination. If you love romance with hunky, protective aliens, you should give this series a try.
Devlin and Jenny's story overlaps with Rachel and Amari's at different points but extends beyond and brings the other couple along. So you definitely have to read this series in order.
Jenny is very shy and was raised within the Southern Baptist religion.
Devlin is a loner and bigger than any of the others on the prison planet. He is called Devlin the Devil. Devlin is sceptical about meeting her because he doesn't allow anyone close. But when they meet he changes his mind.
The people that captured Rachel are a huge part of this story too. I am so ready to read the next book!

3.5/5
Fated mates trope; insta attraction
Heroine(Jenny) is a virgin, hero(Devlin) is not.
Alien-planet-lacks-uterus trope but with a twist!

Imagine getting sent to jail because you couldn’t get an erection 🤔
That’s the story of our Hero’s life lol
Ok a planet where women rule and are genetically bigger, men are taken advantage of and are expected to act in a subservient manner.

I had a higher expectation for this book than the other books of this series because it fills my size kink. 👀
The hero is physically bigger compared to his peers and the heroine is a petite girl.

Sex feels repetitive and same as the previous books. 😞

Would I re-read? No

Sure I would recommend it if you enjoy size kink and an interesting world + story!

This really didn’t seem like an alien novel. He speaks like a human being toward the end. And her cystic fibrosis is almost irrelevant. It’d hardly mentioned after the first chapter. Or even an issue. It’s not even “cured” by the end. Like an afterthought.

Adrenaline has an e on the end.

The first person perspective goes into this in the last chapter:

“She grins as she pulls back, swiveling her body side to side, only encouraging him.”

A little jarring.

It ends at 92% and I couldn’t even care. A lot of this was just parallel to Amari and Rachel’s story. Even recapping at the end it’s Rachel and Jenny, not Jenny and Devlin. Like it was phoned in.

Not sure if I’ll read the next through 8. My review for 9 says it all.

Destiny

Jenny wakes up on Dactyles, the prison planet, n is told about her mating marks by Sylas, the new warden . She's to meet the inmate with the matching marks. While confused, she's had a very religious upbringing, mentally she reasons God brought her to this place for some greater purpose. So she accepts it as her destiny, hoping that everything turns out okay.
Devlin, at first, wants nothing to do with another Ermada, after all it's the reason why he was sent to the planet. Once he became intolerant to the canesta used to provoke an erection. But Silas convinces him to at least meet with her.
Two lonely individuals against all odds coming to terms with their circumstances, what's not to love.

This may of started out as an alien abduction but at some point things changed fast. Jenny was raised by a southern Baptist’s family. Religion is a big factor in who she is and she believes what happens is the lord’s will. Ending up on an alien planet definitely wasn’t what she expected from the lord.

This story is a continuation but can be read as a stand alone. One of the big things I liked about the beginning was how the explained clearly Jenny’s condition with cystic fibrosis. It and her religion is a big part of her character. At lot does happen so expect action, adventure and a romance that does heat up.

Improvement from 3rd in series

Book 4 in the series gets back on track better with books 1 and 2. Book 3 had a great many issues and disappointing areas. Luckily, book 4 is getting back on the right path. Few errors in spelling/incorrect words, but not bad. Did seem to have a moment where the second BJ scene in the shower at the end up the book seemed like it was the first. But that happened earlier in the book briefly already. Otherwise, it’s good to see this series heading back in the right direction.

I loved everything about this book. Devlin reminded me of a bad boy women dream about having. Jenny was a good girl who was abducted from college. I liked their dynamic instantly. I loved how Pearl allowed their relationship to grow before just having them jump in bed. I've read all four books in the Quasar series and they're phenomenal. Pearl has not only created a series which satisfies your wildest fantasies but, she's managed to create an alien world rich with history and potential storylines. I can't wait for the next book.

This series is what introduced me to this author, and I have loved every book in this series which now continues with Jenny and Devlin. This is a wonderful plot and so well written. We have suspense, fear, passion and romance all rolled in to one entertaining read. As with all the other books, this ends with a HEA, but I would still encourage readers to try to read these in order so that you have the full backstory to what is happening and why.

An excellent read.

This is the first book I have read from this author but it will not be the last. I intend to go back and read the earlier books in the series for more background information on the characters. I found the story easy to follow, the characters believable and the relationship between the two main characters deeply emotional and caring of each other. An excellent read and an inspiring story.

Jenny was kidnapped from earth and arrived at a prison planet, Dactyles. She is naive, pragmatic, and religious in nature. In addition she also has the genetic disease of Cystic Fibrosis. She and Devlin both start experiencing tattoo-like markings on their bodies that match. This means they are mates. However, because this is a prison planet, danger abounds. Good read!

Devlin is one hot hairy Alien dude lol. Jenny is lucky to have been matched with Devlin after her and her friends find themselves taken by an alien ship. Jenny shows that size and illness doesn't define a person and Devlin is taken by her strength as well as her love for her friends ,family and he faith in her God.

Yes!!!

This series is so exciting. I am devouring each book...all others are almost forgotten. Thankfully, book one through five are ready so I don't have to wait. I hope it goes on a long time. Each book travels along the same story line and time line from the point of view of the characters involved. It is astounding, dangerous, wonderful and loving. Gotta go...I must start book five!!

Her life is not easy but she gets along find until she is taken and put into a prison of aliens. Marks start appearing on her body. He is the most feared in the prison and he is shocked when marks appear on his skin. Why? Will he find out? See how they will get on

I really enjoyed this one. The main characters are likable and perfect for each other. I loved that the heroines faith in God is what actually allowed her to be so accepting of the hero instead of being something she had to wrestle with in order to be happy. I can't wait to read more about this world and it's characters. Enjoy.

Jenny and her classmates are taken by aliens. She awakens on a prison planet to be told she is a prisoners mate. Devlin has learned how to be by himself and now he's told the markings appearing on him are mating marks. He doesn't need anyone, until he sees the girl from his dreams in front of him. Where can this go?

Good read

I love these alien romance how she twist the role where women rule . The alien hair is weird . I have it a 4star because in the story you made Jenny out to be so skinny from her sickness that she looks anorexia yet she's mated to the biggest alien. I just imagine a stick figure with a Hercules muscle bound giant.

Excellent

Love how It picks up from the previous book and it just gets better and better. This one doesn't disappoint in any way, plenty of action, villains, passion, friendship, and steamy hot scenes that don't take over the story with awesome characters? Truly enjoyable book,
a must buy, and so ready for the next one.

Good read

I had hoped to like 4 better than 3 but it didn’t happen. I still liked the book and will read 5 to continue with the characters, but this one wasn’t spectacular. The over the top religiousness of Jenny didn’t mesh with hot, steamy romance. It was a nice try but it came off as cliche. I never really got why Dev was so ostracized either.

One of the worst read ever. The plot is stupid, the writing is mediocre, the characters are blah. Really it’s like reading a porn. Even the hot scenes are flat. Basically just skimmed through from beginning to end to see what the story is and why the high ratings. Goodreads please come up with a negative star:
