This is a cookbook for celebrities or ultra-wealthy people who have the time and money to source a bunch of random/exotic substitute ingredients (or have staff doing this for them). Every recipe is full of stuff like almond meal, arrowroot powder, baharat, etc. I personally believe that you can eat well with actual foods and not substitute every form of dairy or flour. I understand lots of people have food allergies/sensitivities, but this cookbook says it's for eating healthier, not for food allergies. When literally every single recipe had several substitutes I just lost interest. I'm not into spa food I'm into real, whole food. I'm not saying this is a bad cookbook, it's just not for me.

I really like this cookbook. It has colourful pictures and fantastic descriptions for each recipe, along with a quick list of what type of recipe it is. I also really appreciated the write ups in the different sections and found it really informative how food affects us in different ways. I like the variety of recipes and that they are contributed by a number of chefs. Yes, some of the ingredients are off the beaten path, but there are substitutes and I like being able to have some of these Staples in my pantry.

The recipes in this look gorgeous, and I'm sure they taste good, too, but this is a prime example of health being too often something for the privileged instead of everyone. You do not need exotic, inaccessible ingredients, and overly complicated recipes to achieve the goals this book offers.

Good, healthy recipe book without having to worry if you have all the special ingredients. The recipes aren't that difficult and I have a few that I include in my weekday rotation.

I often think about preparing more healthy meals. I do pretty much cook from scratch but need to make the transition to better ingredients. There are times when I think healthy meals aren't as tasty as the usual regular meals prepared at home. After browsing through this cookbook, I've found that tasty meals can be had with more healthful ingredients. What's great about these recipes are the notes at the bottom indicating what dietary preferences are covered. For me, I try to find low-inflammation meals. The phrase, 'You Are What You Eat' , is relevant with the recipes found here. I find that it's possible to feel better when certain ingredients are avoided such sugar and white flour. It's possible to still make well-loved food such as pancakes but with better ingredients. One can still satisfy their sweet tooth with recipes found in this cookbook. If you're looking to try more healthful meals, I recommend taking a look at this cookbook. Thanks for the free book, Clarkson Potter!

4 stars for the information that this book provides on how to eat for a better life. I liked how it was formatted to have chapters about eating for certain goals. I mostly appreciated that they clearly defined what foods you should eat and why exactly you should eat them (what vitamins and minerals they provide). I found this to be a really helpful tool for setting up your diet in a way that’s specific to your lifestyle. It’s helpful to take notes because there’s just so much valuable information in the informational sections.

The recipes are a mixed bag. There are a lot that require expensive and unattainable ingredients - especially for those that don’t have access to health food stores. Though there are some that provide good inspiration and ideas, I think the real value comes from this book’s information about nutrition.

I had my hopes high about this book. It’s nothing special in my opinion. Format very similar to an old Kayla Itsines book. Many recipes has some crazy ingredients you would have to find in superstores in some world food isle. Instead of naturally protein rich food there’s plenty of whey protein (not a fan of)
There’s only a few recipes i may make. So if you’re not new into a healthy eating don’t bother to be honest.

The dessert section is exceptional! It’s decadent and satisfying without going overboard on sugar or butter. In fact, it’s all good for you fats like ghee.

Definitely want to try the tahini fudge and the PMS busting brownies. Súper cool recipes with famous contributors in the foodie world. I wish all desserts sections were this unique and decadent.

A lot of these recipes are what you’d expect, some pretty inaccessible or otherwise unappetizing ingredients. Some looked really good and I’m excited to try them! Would’ve given 4 stars but I was surprised, given that it’s a health cookbook, that there weren’t any nutrition facts for the recipes. A little disappointing.

interesting recipes, some with obscure ingredients meaning that i am unlikely to go out of my way to make any. might have another flick through before i bring it back to the library as they include a range of different dietary requirements/preferences.

A not very practical book full of recipes that contain expensive ingredients. I’m also not sure if the results are worth the cost. However, some of the breakfast ideas were good and worked well.
