Short book, but a good overview of that tumultuous time monotheism was finding its feet, and the rulers of this nascent country fought to institute a working political system. Saul, David, Solomon, Josiah are presented with all their good traits and their flaws. They served honorably, remembering to commit themselves to God's calling, and sometimes dishonorably. They had lots of wives and lots of kids and there was lots of murder going on. Interesting times, indeed.

Great summary on the history of the book of Kings. Easy read. Wonderful chart that displays the chronology of the kings of Judah and compared to the kings of Israel. True depiction of the history of the bible.

The aim of this small book is to guide you to an understanding of the Kings of the Bible. While a quick and easy read, it does not go in depth at all. This would be an ideal book for a new believer or even a non-believer as a reference.
