Morgan Sjogren is living the dream: She runs, backpacks, and rappels through the canyon country of the American Southwest, living out of a sunshine yellow Jeep Wrangler. She travels the West with nothing but a backpack of thrift-store clothing, her running shoes, some ultralight backpacking gear, and a dream to make the outdoors her home.
Known to her followers on Instagram as the "Running Bum," Sjogren devotes her days to adventure in places like Sedona, Bears Ears, Durango, and Yosemite. She shares her lifestyle in incredible photos and essays about her thrills and spills in Outlandish: Fuel for Your Epic
In Outlandish, this running bum's attitude toward adventure will inspire you to find your epic while her recipes for simple living (and burritos!) will show you the path to your own adventure life.
A warning should come with this book. The photography, Morgan’s stories, and her camping recipes will make you want to throw it all in and become a dirtbag. Well, at least plan a camping trip ASAP. It helps that she is exploring my home, the gorgeous southwest Four Corners region. Now, if you will excuse me, I need to go get my gear in order and fix a burrito while I plan my next epic journey into the wild.
I loved reading Morgan's essays the first time and come back every once in a while to re-visit them. The recipes are great for camp cooking inspiration. Truly an awesome and inspiring read.
