I just absolutely adore this series. Serena you have done an amazing job at writing these novels, I can't express that enough. In this installment we see more of Tin and how he is growing up as a genius child. Honestly he is the cutest little cherub and hilarious as he mimics everything that Devon does and oh how I appreciate this so much. If you've read my other reviews from this series, you'll know Devon is my favourite, well his one liners and strange colloquialisms just keep getting better and better in this book. We also see a cross over between Serena's other book series Kingdom of Veronia, so I can't wait to see where that leads. The only thing I'll say against these books is that I find them way too short and I'll finish them in about an hour. Thankfully I hadn't read them whilst they were coming out so now I could binge them.
After finding out that the man who supposedly helped Sascha after her fall was really the man who caused the fall, Sean and Andrei take it upon themselves to get revenge. With the help of Vasily, they kidnap him and beat him before throwing him into a Russian prison.
But Sascha doesn’t know about this. But while they’re staying in Moscow with Vasily, she stumbles upon them. When she finds out the whole story she is shaken knowing that the whole thing wasn’t on accident, but because the man was a journalist who wanted to get close to her in order to make a story out of her and their unconventional poly relationship.
As Sascha and the guys try to heal from the emotional roller coaster they’ve been on, they visit with Vasily and prepare to head to Veronia next.
These are still pretty emotionally heavy, which is kind of disappointing. I honestly was hoping for this second part of their story to be a little more on the lighter side. But it seems this is bound to be an emotional journey.
In this one three of the guys (Sean, Sawyer, and Andrei) agree to “play” some BDSM games with Sascha as she is feeling the need to let go of control. Kurt doesn’t understand the need, but accepts it reluctantly. But Devon is really devastated by this need because it reminds him of the abuse he saw his mother take from his father.
So there’s a lot of uncertainty in terms of their sex life and how all of their needs can still mesh together. This whole thing was kind of grating because I don’t see the big deal for her to be looking for this from them and Devon (and to a lesser degree Kurt) seem rather judgmental about it.
Sascha is so insecure and sad now. She’s unsure of her purpose and constantly worried the guys are cheating on her. It’s so unlike her character from the beginning of the series that it’s rather jarring. I understand she’s going through some really tough things, but it’s hard to watch the (negative) changes in her.
Overall it’s still an emotional journey. I like that they are traveling a bit though, that’s kind of fun. But I don’t like all the turmoil within the relationship and Sascha’s mind. It’s a lot.

Sasha and her men are now in Moscow visiting Andrei's grandfather for Christmas then off to Veronia to help out a kingdom in need. But once Sasha finds her way into a room with a screaming man what will she do.
*spoilers* read no further if you haven't read the books yet.
For justice to be served Vasily takes it into his hands to see it done, all the while Sean and Andrei keep the rest out of the loop. For Devon was being stalked and as we learned from the last book Sasha's fall was no accident. Vasily will protect his family no matter what he has to do, but now they must live with knowing what has been done... Sasha now holds a secret from 3 of her men, well until she talks to Kurt about it, and he's mad because he wasn't in on it as well. But maybe now Sasha will be able to move on just a little bit knowing it wasn't her fault.
The ups and downs in this story are heart wrenching at times for Sasha to be grieving from losing Camillia and now knowing that the perp behind it is now rotting in a Russian prison. What these men do to protect her will now haunt her all because she is a cops daughter.
There is so much going on I don't even know where to start. The characters are keeping secrets and not really talking. The guys have so much work going on that Sascha is a little out of sorts. I honestly feel bad because she needs them. I think that it is getting complicated because of the incident from before is getting trickier and the guys are dealing with the aftermath. Then the new twist of bringing her 2 series together is probably where I get off of the train. I loved the characters but honestly I'm not that into it that I would start reading the other trilogy just to find out what's going on with this group.
‘I can feel their love and concern surrounding me at all times.’
This focuses on Christmas with Vasily in Russia. I love the connection Tim has with his grandfather and heritage. He is just the cutest. The story continues as we explore more of the BDSM style and interesting in Devon’s interpretation of it. I really liked having his viewpoint especially due to his history.
Some more truths come out to Sascha about the fall. I didn’t like that Sean and Andrei are keeping this from the others. It’s painful news but they are a group. And also Sascha struggling with the decision made, I mean this person caused her extreme harm, they needed to suffer.
I keep reading the sequels and keep feeling weird. I do not understand why this one is called Kurt. I do not see plot. However, I am very happy with the emotional characters' growth. Do not get me wrong, I liked the book very much, it only did not make much sense in terms of plot arc and my oderly mind had difficulty in coping. I am very much looking forward to the crossover with Perry!
First of all, I don’t understand the titles of these sequels. They don’t center on the character title al all. Secondly, this book promises Devon release in February. Other books have been released. Why not complete this series first? I would like to see a real HEA and be done with the series. I almost feel I have wasted my time.
Oh how I enjoy these brainy men. I can’t help but to feel like a part of this family. Can’t wait for the next one. With an ending like that? I will be trying to wait patiently until next time.
Omg! Serena I can’t believe you!! Now while I love the idea of a crossover, to leave us hanging like that is a cardinal sin!! I am thinking horrible things right now! How long for the next book!? I simply cannot wait!
I’m a big fan of this series so it’s no surprise that I’d give it five stars. I’ve got to say though. No way would I have a moment of remorse over what her men did. I’ve now got the crossover to look forward to I can’t wait to catch up with Perry and her men.
Loved It!! There is a lot going on in this book. I loved every part of it as I do all of Serena's books. Sascha is still struggling with the loss of their baby and trying to find her way. The guys are all trying to help the best way they can. I can't wait to find out what happens in Veronia
Another chapter in the story of these 6 lovers, and the outside world is having more of an influence than ever. Little Tin definitely brings some normality (lol) to the household.
Although this book is entitled Kurt, it deals largely with Sean and Andrei and we see more of Vasily's Bravta lifestyle. Then it ends with the fact this will crossover with Kingdom of Veronia books - Argh! How have I not read these. Well just about to rectify that.
The Quintessence series is one of my favorites! We definitely get some answers in this one but also more questions. You can tell there is healing. Also, plenty of steaminess!
Kurt has my heart. And this book reminded me why. He is such a gentle soul. This sequel is so good. I will miss these boys when it's over. I can't wait for April so I can see them all again!
Next will be Sean and ending with Devon should be a doozer. But this installment ended too abruptly, not that it didn't have some "wow! I didn't see that coming" moments. It opened with a 1, 2, 3 POW! Middled out with a 1, 2, 3 WHAT!? And piddled out with a cough and a "well, hm."
I can’t even explain how emotional the reveal to Sascha made me feel. You could feel a sense of relief with the anger and hurt when the truth came out, and now it has hopefully the whole family will be able to move forward. Can’t wait for the next one!
The characters are growing in depth, the action sees some resolutions and new intrigue arises. Our men reveal more as to the depths of their devotion and our FC begins to find her own Niche. This also begins a crossover
