Frozen Dragons #2

Master of Frost

Rate this book

Dmitri, newly awakened ice dragon and former bodyguard to the Lord of Winter, is in big trouble. He knows his curvy, prone-to-trouble roommate with a heart of gold is his mate, but she hasn’t come to the same conclusion. If he makes a move, she might freeze him out, and if he doesn’t, he might be forever doomed to the friend box, a place colder than the Siberian landscape he came from!

Chelle loves living with her two new friends, even if they are giant, sexy icemen her roommate brought home from a lab. Dmitry, a tall, sensual warrior with vivid turquoise eyes, always sets her on edge when he’s in the room with her, but she knows everything will be fine as long as the two of them stay just friends. That’s if she can ignore her body begging for so much more…

As tension explodes between the two roommates, resulting in heated kisses and steamy encounters, Dmitry is ever more determined to melt down the icy walls that guard Chelle’s heart. But, in the end, it may be up to Chelle to fight her inner demons and realise her feelings for Dmitry, before external forces tracking the ice dragons catch up!

This book contains some action and violence, mystery, steamy scenes, and an innocent dragon roommate who keeps getting caught in the crossfire of two confused, stubborn lovers.

*WARNING* best for adults due to sexual content
Dimitri is one of the frozen dragons from hundreds of years ago and this is his story. Dimitri and his two "brothers" have been staying with Chelle and Alek's mate. Dimitri has figured out that Chelle is his mate and now Alek wants them all to move out because Alek's got her own apartment? Dimitri knows Chelle asks nervous around, but he can't leave his mate.
Chelle understands why Talia and Alek want their own place, but she feels so much safer with Dimitri and Luca there. Chelle sees the way Dimitri looks at her and that makes her nervous. Chelle knows she's broken and unable love, she knows Dimitri deserves someone better.
When Chelle's story finally came out, it was NOT what I expected, I liked the surprise. These guys are dragons and that makes the story worth reading for me. I really like how these three are ice dragons all from the same time period, frozen at the same time, raised together, but their personalities could not be more different. I like that the Oracle is mentioned in this book, so it makes a connections to other series written by Bolryder. I would think anyone who reads PNR would enjoy this story and it's HEA.

Only ok

Not nearly as good as the first book in the series. I loved Dimitri. He tried so hard to be the best he could be for whomever needed him. I could not get behind Chelle at all. By the time we found out her mysterious past, it’s 95% and I had already written her off. D could have done so much better.

This series is missing a protagonist. It's a decent collection of stories but there is no real bad guy or overall issue like with the others. And the lack of other dragons/oracle had me wondering if this was a new world. The romance is okay.

Master of Frost is the second book in Terry Bolryder’s new Frozen Dragons series.

Dmitri, ice dragon and former bodyguard, has awakened after hundreds of years to find himself living with Chelle, a curvy, accident prone roommate, who happens to be his mate. The only problem; she’s determined to keep him in the friends box. As their attraction intensifies, will Chelle face the demons of her past in time to save Dmitri from the forces chasing him and the ice dragons? Read it to find out!

This is a shifter romance with a little bit of suspense and a happily ever after. It is a great second book for the series and continues the theme of new beginnings and second chances. While I enjoyed reading this book, it is probably the least favourite story that I have read by the Terry. It was humorous, with a good storyline and a fantastic hero, but I strongly disliked the heroine and her interactions with Dmitri. It all worked out in the end but it left me unsatisfied.

I am looking forward to reading Luka’s story; he’s a great friend to Dmitri and Alek and he deserves his own HEA. I love that Lucian, the Sapphire Dragon from Terry’s Awaken Dragons Series makes an appearance in this book and I hope we see more of oracle and her dragons in the next book.

Loved the second book in the Frozen Dragon series. This one is about Dmitri and, as you can probably guess, Talia's roommate Chelle.

Chelle has always carried a dark secret that has made her shy away from love. Having Dmitri, Luka, and Alek staying with her and Talia has been a little difficult for her as Dmitri makes her feel uncomfortable sometimes. He looks at her intently and seems to dislike it when Luka gets too close, but she has enjoyed the time the three of them spent watching movies and kidding around. When Talia and Alek decide to move down the hall they are willing for Dmitri or Luka, or both of them to move with them. Chelle does not want to be left alone and Dmitri refuses to leave if Luka stays. Guides this mean Dmitri wants Luka? Cos she can breathe easier if that is what is going on. She gets to keep both of them as friends and it explains why Dmitri doesn't like Luka being too close, right?

Dmitri has secrets of his own, one of which is knowing that Chelle is his mate. He also knows that his feelings for her are making her uncomfortable for some reason. He only wants to protect and care for her and would never force her to do anything, but he is not leaving her to live alone with Luka. He is willing to let her think whatever she wants if it keeps him close to her. He can do that for her, right?

I loved how patient Dmitri was with Chelle, but she really leads him on a merry chase. It takes her friend, Iris, and a certain Sapphire dragon to bring Chelle to her senses.

I was given an advanced copy of this book by the author. My review is voluntary.

MASTER OF FROST is the second title in Terry Bolryder’s Frozen Dragons series. The way that Alek, Dmitri, and Luka, were brought into our world was a fascinating touch, and I loved Alek and Talia’s romance in LORD OF WINTER and have a hint of the love of Luka’s life to come in PRINCE OF ICE. Yet in Dimitri and Chelle’s story, I found myself annoyed with the heroine for the majority of the story – and I’m not accustomed to doing that.

Please don’t misunderstand, I enjoyed and was caught up in Chelle and Dimitri’s story – yet the true (and only) protagonist in MASTER OF FROST were Chelle’s memories that have changed a vibrant, fun-loving young woman into a woman who refuses to allow love to touch her life in any deep, meaningful way. She can love on the surface, friendships she can handle, but allowing herself to feel or accept that emotion on a deeper, personal level is beyond her ability and comfort zone for the majority of their story. Which makes the fact that Dimitri is her mate a very emotionally charged story.

Even though I had guessed a good deal of what was in Chelle’s past, I found it hard to get beyond the impression of a woman who is using Dimitri’s devotion to his mate in a very selfish way. I didn’t hate her – I simply could not like her and while that changed my enjoyment of their story it also added another dimension to the story for me. I got to see in action what we are always told in Shifter Romance – that a mate loves for a lifetime and that bond is unbreakable even if the mate does not return their love. For a large part of MASTER OF FROST, I got to see that truth in action.

We also get to see a very familiar face, and now I’m curious to see how these frozen dragons will take part in a larger Shifter world. If you love Paranormal Romance or Shifter Romance then I’d recommend this series without hesitation.

I read this title through my Kindle Unlimited subscription.

This is a good addition to the Frozen Dragons series, and an OK romance.

Dmitri was likable, but Chelle's behavior just didn't make sense. She blamed herself for something that happened in her past, because she had only wanted friendship with someone who loved her. But she wanted to do the same thing with Dmitri, just be his friend with benefits? I just didn't buy that she would have done that. It seems more likely that she would have wanted to not even be friends with him, just to prevent a repeat of her past. It also bothered me that they both seemed more in lust than in love.

I did like that Dmitri and Luka met one of the dragons from Terry's other dragon shifter series in this book. It sounds like they will also meet the oracle, possibly in Luca's book. That could be interesting.

My rating system is below.
1 star -- Hated it, or did not finish. I usually only give this rating if some of the content is truly objectionable to me, like if one of the main characters does something really awful, and gets away with it.
2 stars -- Didn't like it. This rating usually means that I thought the writing wasn't very good, the editing was terrible, I didn't like the characters, or it had other major flaws.
3 stars -- I liked it, but had some minor issues with it. This rating means that there were minor editing issues, the story needed more character development, it was just too unrealistic, or had some other fairly minor issue. The majority of books I read get this rating – I do not consider it a bad rating.
4 stars -- I liked it a lot. This is a high rating for me, and I rarely give a higher one.
5 stars -- I loved it, and will probably read it again. Very few books are good enough to get this rating from me. The ones that do are usually classics.

The second book in the Frozen Dragons Saga was intriguing and definitely what we come to expect from Terry! She brings together Chelle, a woman who is afraid to love, and Dimitri, a dragon who is protective and determined to love her! With steamy scenes and good humor Master of Frost keeps you entertained through the whole story.

Dimitri is a frozen dragon who has been awakened after hundreds of years of being frozen in ice . He is determined to show the woman who has been helping to take care of him and his friends that she is his mate!

Chelle has been helping Dimitri and his friends to assimilate to the new world. Her emotions about Dimitri confuse and scare her. She believes her past makes her unable to love.

Chelle is determined to push Dimitri away and Dimitri is just as determined to show her she can love! When it looks like Dimitri might be in trouble Chelle will have to make some tough decisions. I love that Terry ties this book to her other series with a cameo made by the Sapphire dragon!

Love Terry Bolryder's work and this is no exception this is the second book in this series and you have to read the first book Lord of Winter to get the full benefit of the story This i book draws you in and has you laughing at some of the mistaken ideas that plague Chelle about what Dmitri really wants

This is Dmitri (Alec's bodyguard/friend) and Talia's friend Chelle's story. Dmitri is quite aware that Chelle is his mate but why isn't she feeling the bond like he is and why does she seem happier in the company of his friend Luka. He just wants Luka to go away so that he can be with his mate but Chella will only allow men in her life has friends she will never love any man. Will Dmitri find out what she is hiding will he help her heal Be prepared for some laughs as these two work their way towards true love and be prepared for a meeting with a dragon from a previous series.

A modern lesson from an ancient dragon-shifter.

Dmitri watched his Lord find his mate in this new life. He kept quiet his own feelings for Chelle. She seemed edgy around him. Patience. He only hoped he had enough.

Chelle finds peace with an assumption that follows the old saying about assumptions. In that peace she and Dmitri became friends. Good friends but not the kind he craved. Both of them had secrets. He didn't think he could be honest with her and threaten their newfound closeness.

Chelle loved that she could be close to Dmitri without having to be more than she was ready for. She'd never be ready. Would she? Could a death threat be enough?

This one will touch your heart. Tickle your funny bone. Tingle your steamy side and light candles for your romantic you. All the things you want in a book and more. Don't miss it.

Unlocking Frosty secrets!

Dimitri has been awoken to the modern world and is lucky enough to be with his best friends, Alek and Luka. When Luka finally takes his mate and moves out, he is panicked as he doesn’t want Chelle, to choose Luka over him, due to the intensity of their connection. Chelle is blissfully unaware of dragons but as time goes on, secrets are slowly unlocked. However, Dimitri has his work cut out for him in winning his mate over as she has some secrets she is less willing to reveal.

What a story! Great characters, catching up with some old favourites and yet again looking forward to more in this series 😀 Thank you Terry for my advanced copy for which I leave my honest review and eagerly await Luka’s story next💕🐉

Loved this book!

This was an amazing book. I love all of Terry Bolryder's dragon books. This was was one of my favorites because it was so real. Sometimes life sucks and horrible things happen. The heroine in this story had some baggage and thought she was broken. Even though it was not her fault, she thought it was. Not only was this story very real but it showed how we can all have the courage to overcome all the horrible things that happen that we have no control over. Also, having a man like Dimitri who is patient and understanding and respects boundaries is becoming very rare. I read this book in one night, and cried and laughed. I couldnt put it down. I think this book was perfect!

Dmitry's and Chelle's story

Kindle Unlimited Purchase
by Terry Bolryder
This is the 2nd book in this series. I recommend you read them in order. And that means all the way to the beginning starting with the series Awakened Dragons. As that is the series that started it all.
Frozen in ice, awakened in a time far from his own. Dmitry life revolved around Alek protecting him as his bodyguard. Now in a time, he doesn't understand he has to win the heart of his mate. Chelle has history, baggage as we all do. But hers is stopping her to love Dmitry. She knows Dmitry loves her but she can't feel the same.
I enjoyed this book as I do every book by TB. Stop what you're doing and read this serious, my opinion I wouldn't pass up.

Excellent

Another great from this author and the second book in this series. Chelle a young attractive lecturer from the University and Talia's roommate has taken to the Icemen with no issues but is not aware that they are Dragons. Dimitri has immediately fallen for her and realised that she is his mate now he has to try and convince her. She is really emotionally damaged by an incident when she was young, she tried hard to pretend she doesn't have feelings for him but when she thinks he is in danger she can no longer hide her love. Things are really tough for these two and you can't help but feel their torment but are so happy when it all works out in the end. This is a bit of an emotional roller coaster but a great read.

Still great!! Can't wait for Luke's story.

Dimitri is a superb hero. Chelle is good, but I thought she hung onto the past too long. Dimitri was wonderfully patient with her. I think this story is 4.5 stars for me because of that. However, these are dragon romances by Terry Bolryder, so I rounded up! This storyline is very character oriented, with a quick pace, emotional tone, steamy scenes and characters with very believable issues. We do see a brief tie-in to the previous Dragon books near the end. So if you like sexy and sensitive Dragon shifters in your romances, this is for you, but read at least book 1 in this series first. Enjoy!

!master of "Frozen Dragons" Series by Terry Bolryder

I have just completed the first two of the series, "Lord of Winter" and " Master of Frost", and could not put them down! I went from one to the other in the time it took me to call Master of Frost after the last page of Lord of Winter! All I can say is grab them while you can! They are a great set that joins in with another series I believe from the hint given at the end of Master of Frost's Demitri. Alex's story, book one of series goes wonderfully into book two. Can't say much more, other then great wonderful, entertaining, with good humor and the best of storylines.. Thanks to the wonder author, Terry Bolryder!

Overcoming loss

Dmitri, bodyguard ice dragon shifter, has woken, with his two compatriots, after hundreds of years in ice. Waking to hot pockets, television and microwaves, he's had a steep learning curve in the modern world. But when he meets Chelle, his human mate, that is something he understands. This story follows Dimitri and Chelle as he tries to understand her defensive posture and she tries to ignore her attraction to Dmitri. After a run in with another dragon of the world Chelle better understands her feelings for Dmitri. Fortunately, Dmitri is a patient ( & sexy) man and helps Chelle overcome her past and look to their future.

The Healing Power of Love

Chelle has a troubled past which hurt her and made her close her heart and afraid of her emotions. But Dmitri, the ice dragon with the healing powers of his water dragon heritage, stubbornly loves her and isn't about to let go of her no matter what, because he has found his mate.
Sometimes I was irritated by Chelle, her blindness to her own emotions and acting stupidly because of it. Dmitri is simply sweet and patient and brave and strong, the perfect friend and dragon shifter lover and mate.
There is a link to the Awakened Dragons world and an appearance of one of them in the end of this book.
Recommended to lovers of steamy shifter romances.

Relationships - not always easy, are they?
Dmitri is handsome, and his size may make him look fierce, but with Chelle, he’s a big, protective teddy bear. Chelle, however, is an emotionally withdrawn young woman. She doesn’t recognize his attraction to her. Oh, the misunderstandings! They do create some delightfully humorous situations. Dmitri is certainly a persistent fellow. In the face of being ‘friend-zoned,’ he doesn’t give up. There are poignant moments as Chelle faces her greatest fears, but she has Dmitri to lend his strength. I’m thrilled to see a strong bond form. Well done!

Dimitri's story is the second one in the Frozen Dragons Series, and he really has to fight to get his mate to agree to be his, and not in a way that Dimitri is used to fighting. His strength and ability to fight that made him an excellent guard, will not help him in this case at all! He needs all his patience and love to win over his mate. Chelle, Talia's roommate and freind, has been hiding a deep heart ache that makes her emotionally unavailable, will she let Dimitri in? I love these books, they're so much fun to read and really make it easy to sit down and get lost in the book.

Something in Chelle's past makes her believe that she isn't capable or deserving of love. Dmitri longs for one thing: for his mate to accept him. He must have patience. Will Chelle be able to let go of her past? Will Dmitri finally get the woman of his dreams?

Dmitri definitely had the patience of a saint! I loved how he was determined to do what he could, even if that meant just being friends. I didn't blame Chelle for being scared and was really happy for her when she decided to take that chance! Great read!

Dmitri knew be like Talia's best friend, she just seemed to not really notice him.

Chelle had loved going to the club. Escaping her normal life and a teacher. Her roommate, Talia was a scientist; she discovered 3 men frozen in blocks of ice! She fell for Alec and is now happily involved with him. Dmitri just seemed scary, but was nice to her. Chelle had a painful past, but didn't know how two overcome it. She tried to stay away from men and relationships. Dmitri might be an exception.

Master of Frost

Master of Frost is the second book in thr Frozen Dragon series and it continues from the first book with Dimitri and Chelle's story. These two really have to find their way before they can have their HEA. The characters are basically the same as the first book just different H/h. It was nice to see Sapphire dragon make an appearance from the Gem dragons. Terry Bolryder really makes her readers feel like part of the story and you will enjoy this book.

I enjoyed this one but do agree with some of the reviews I've read that there were a few points that made me dislike the heroine. The only other complaint I had was a small detail near the end of the book when Chelle saw Dmitri's dragon; it seemed like she hadn't seen him before and she kept commenting on how huge he was in her inner monologue but he'd taken her flying in his dragon form earlier in the book so it didn't make much sense. Dmitri was fantastic, looking forward to Luka.

I loved Dmitri and Chelle's story which is the second book in the Frozen Dragon series. Dmitri know that Chelle is his mate and he does not want to be placed in the friend zone. Chelle believes that she can not love Dmitri but he sets out the prove her wrong. Secrets will slowly come out and Chelle will help Dmitri when trouble comes.

Second book just as good as the first

There was a lot baggage with the girl that was his mate, and with the last Dragon that was his friend, after they got it worked out then it took forever to get to what the real matter was. Also glad to see that one of the germ Dragons found the Frost Dragon and will help them start a new life

Good Read!!

Awesome, another ice Dragon 🐉 got his mate, although it took his mate quite a while to admit her feelings. Now I am glad the other Dragons finally reached out and offer any help needed, and I believe Luka will finally get all the needed info for his research, and for Iris can't wait to hear their story...big fan as always Winzie19💞☺.

Roller Coaster Ride for the Frozen Dragon

This was such a crazy story it totally felt like Chelle was hurling round corners and up and down hills and poor Dmitri just had to hold on for the ride. So glad he held on and was such a happy ending! Yay Terry Bolryder for all the anticipation and biting my nails waiting for the "Happily Ever After". Can't wait for the next one!
