If love was certain, they wouldn’t call it falling.
I’m not much of a lady’s man. I don’t want a date; I want a mate. Can’t we just skip all the awkward stuff?
My sister assures me this matchmaker service is the real deal. I sign up to humor her, then I’m blown away.
Claire is everything I could have asked for and more. She’s charming, funny, and she gets me. But everything falls apart when she finds out I can’t give her the one thing she wants most: a family.
Claire thinks I lied. I have to make her see there’s honor in this lonely heart.
Fiona Starr is a USA Today Bestselling Author of Paranormal Romance. She writes everything from Reverse Harem to M/F, as long as it has magic, shifters, and other creatures! She loves fated mates and enemies to lovers romance, even better when it's set in a gripping mystery. Actually, most tropes are fair game, as long as we get to the HEA (which we always do!). She lives her happily ever after in the mountains of Colorado with her hunky husband and their fleet of fur babies.
Thomas and Claire, this book cover totally gives ya warm fuzzy ...what a great addition to this series. making my way around them ... new to Fiona ... will read more.
Claire lost her husband in a automobile accident and thinks she’ll never find love again but her cousin talked her into signing up with a matchmaker. Thomas has been on too many blind dates and he said no more but his sister signed him up with the matchmaker. One rule of the matchmaker is that they get to know each other by writing letters to each other. Claire and Thomas get matched and they enjoy reading and writing each other letters so when they meet it’s like they have known each other forever. When they spend a night together without using any protection she freaks out but then he tells her he is sterile but always wanted a family by adopting but she gets a text her father is in serious condition in the hospital and she leaves. Thomas is heartbroken so he goes to her to explain and hopes to win her back.

What a wholesome read! Not sure if this is the first book of The Matchmaker series but it gives us more insight of Grace's Matchmaking service (from filling out a questionaire, writing a cover letter, how they are assigned their names, and some of the rules and how the dating process works - i.e. no giving away personal information/identifiers and being transparent and honest) I've read some of the other books in the series and it doesnt put much emphasis on the service. I also love the chemistry, background, insecurities and character building - most stories would just seem so unrealistic and unrelatable with the idea of whirlwind romances but this gives us a more balanced and relatable characters. There characters are also relatable because they have their own flaws and admit it, which I really liked and appreciate. The only reason why I gave this a 4 is because of the minor errors here and there and a little inconsistency towards the end when the POV shifted for a short moment in one sentence (in the epilogue as Claire being the narrator and that one sentence shifting to a 3rd person POV describing Thomas helping Claire). Other than this was a great short story and would definitely check the authors other works out.
Love in its Simplest Form Claire & Thomas have each had their share of life changing circumstances. With a nudge from their family members they join an old school matchmaking service that starts by exchanging letters. Honest, open letters about themselves without revealing any specific details while they learn about each other. From here they can choose to meet when they are both ready. Once they meet it's magical & they end up talking all night. A family emergency & a misunderstanding on Claire's part could be the end before something they can find out what they could really be but Thomas takes action to save what they have developing in a result of that will make your heart melt.
The Matchmaker Series is a collaboration of short stories by different authors linked in the same world. Grab some coffee or wine if you prefer. Get comfy and prepare to be romanced into Valentine's just as these authors know how to do. Swooning!! I love, love, love these short stories of romance with just enough steam to keep it more interesting
This is the next installment in the matchmaker series.
Claire retreated into herself after her husband died in an accident. Her cousin thinks that its time for her move on with her life and suggests a match making site. Thomas is tired of the endless blind dates but his sister won't let up and he ends up signed up to a matchmaker service. The rule of the service is that they get to know one another through their letters first before agreeing to meet. Claire and Thomas connect through their letters and decide to meet. When they meet they have an even deeper connection than they thought. However a family emergency and a misunderstanding might split them up before they have a chance to begin. Can they find their way back to each other?
This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. The chemistry between them is off the charts hot. This is a well written and very entertaining story. I would recommend this book to any book lover.

Once again, well meaning relatives push our couple to try a matchmaking service with delightful results.
This is another story in the loosely connection Matchmaker series. Each story is written by a different author and feature different settings and couples, but they share the same common starting point, in this case employing the help of the Matchmaker.
One of the things that I like about these story series is that they are all well written and presented. This story is no exception. We get a good solid plot with two delightful characters that have you cheering for them from the first letters. The connection between them is real and helps draw you into the story. Along the way we get a bit of steam, a bit of romance and a nice relaxing read with a solid HEA. Perfect for a nice evening read.
Highly recommended.

This is a wonderful series of short stories about couples meeting through a matchmaking service where they are encouraged to have open honest communication by mail before they actually meet one another
This is Claire and Thomas's story He has had to any blind dates where nothing has worked out while she lost her husband in a car accident and doesn't think that she ever find love again. When they finally meet the chemistry between them is great but a misunderstanding almost destroy their relationship before it starts but Thomas is willing to do what he must to keep their relationship going Will these two damaged souls finally get a HEA
This is only a short read as are all the books in the series but believe me you are not short changed in any way by the length there is plenty of feels and emotion in this story
I am really enjoying the Matchmaking Series. It is a lot of fun reading these different authors with them using the Matchmaking service as the central theme, but that is where the sameness ends. From there it is all each authors individual flavor and Fiona Starr does not disappoint. She has a knack for insta love short stories that don't leave you feeling like something was missing. She gives the reader just enough of everything to keep you entertained and engaged. This story is no different. I loved Claire and Thomas. They are a perfect match, much like this series seems to be a perfect match for me. I really love the old school letter writing aspect in all of these stories and Ms Starr uses the contrast to more modern dating ways perfectly. Great job!

How sweet is this? Instead of a website dating service, a lady named Grace, does it the old fashioned way...by writing letters to their potential matches to get to know them. No phones numbers, no social media, no addresses (they mail their letters to er and she mails them out). She hand picks matches, no relying on computer programs or algorithms to match someone up. Kinda sweet. My husband has written many many love letters over the 24 years we’ve been together and they are all put up and something I cherish.
Although a quick read, I feel like I got to know these characters through their letters just like their potential matches, and when they finally meet up, they get to know each other more and find out just how perfect a matchmaker Grace really is. Sweet and romantic, I enjoyed this little novella.
This is another good story in the "Matchmaker" series. It's a good story and well written, especially for the length. All of these stories are so different but focus on meeting through Grace the matchmaker. Grace has a different take on matchmaking that is a little old school. It's a refreshing approach to meeting your perfect match. This is a sweet, cute and steamy story that is a fairly quick read. I loved Claire and Thomas! The chemistry between them is great and I do love the surprise in the ending. I thought her reaction to his news is a little overkill and dramatic but I loved the apology. It is an entertaining story with a little angst and drama.
This book had so much emotion. Claire's loss was still very much raw to her and she couldn't move past it, the matchmaker service was ideal as she was able to lay all her feelings he out without being face to face. Thomas cancer was heart breaking and had played a huge part in who he became as an adult, and then throw into that the turmoil of Claire's dad suddenly ending up in hospital. I really wished this book was longer as there was just so much in and it's a credit to the author to be able to get it all in in such a short book and not lose any emotion or feeling.
Claire’s cousin Laura surprises her by signing them up with a matchmaking service. Skeptical Thomas’ sister signs him up with the same service. When these two are matched, they correspond through hand written letters. They are intrigued with each other & meet in person with sparks flying, until a misunderstanding causes Claire to become angry & accuse Thomas of lying.
This was a great, easy to read story about two people who don’t think they will find love. The characters are relatable & adorable together. Looking forward to reading Claire’s sister, Amelia’s book!
This book spoke my name loud and clear. Most people don't remember a time before cellphones, computers, e-mail and Facebook. When you actually wrote letters and put them in a mailbox.
I loved Claire and Thomas. Even a dating service knew they were the perfect match. Grace knows her stuff!!
To get to read each letter to the other gave them such a genuine quality. Even when they meet, you are invested in it. You smile and get "the feels".
This is the cute read. Definitely a great story for Valentine's day or just any day you need happy time.
Claire is a widow. She’s tried the whole online dating, mixers, and has given up when she’s invited to try What the heart wants match making service.
Thomas as struck out in the dating game and his sister feels like she’s failed him. He actually wants a relationship. So he tries out What the heart wants match making service and begins writing letters to Claire as Lonely heart.
Sweet, kind of old fashioned but refreshing.

This was a quick but great story! I can't wait to read more by this author. I love her writing style
Claire and Thomas sign up for a matchmaker to help them find someone. They are matched with each other and really hit it off. After a great night, Claire wakes up to a crisis in her life. There was some major miscommunication between them. Will they be able to work everything out so that they can find their happy ever after?

Claire’s husband passed away three years ago and her cousin has decided that they need to sign up for a matchmaker as it is time for Claire to start dating again. Due to an experience in his childhood Thomas has always been shy around others but his sister has convinced him to try a matchmaker.
The letters they start writing to each other allow them to open up to each other so when they meet they are already friends. The chemistry between them ignites but will a misunderstanding destroy everything?
Sweet and sexy it was great to see two lonely people get their happy ever after.
Another matchmaking romance. Thomas is assured that the service was great. Claire is still, depressed after the death of her husband, but her cousin thinks a good ole matchmaking is in order. Letters first, then meet. Sparks fly when they do meet and if you thought their connection in their letters was spot on the,m they are perfect in all ways. But with any new relationship things happen mistakes are made misunderstanding that hold to muck things up.

This was a unique story. Two girls had not had any luck finding decent guys and turned to a matchmaker. This matchmaker had them fill out forms and write a letter (on paper) to their match. Then when they were matched, that's the way they corresponded. A very unique if old fashion way to communicate. But for someone shy, it works. The story was fun to read and I loved the letters.

Dear Lonely Heart by Fiona Starr a five-star read that will melt even the coldest of hearts. I adored this one, its only short and sweet with a great heat level. Claire was sublime she knows what she wants in life and is at a point where she is able to get it, isn’t she? She is one of those characters that you come across and you know will stay with you. I could read so much more about her and a little fluff ball as well, even though I must say Gonzo will always be my favourite Muppet.
What a fabulous story. Claire and Thomas both believe love is probably not to be for them. Each of them have a family member that suggests a matchmaker service where you write actual letters to your potential match. A match that is chosen by a person not a computer. This is an emotional read and I loved every minute of it. It's definitely a must read and I totally recommend it.

Author spins another great holiday tale! This one revolves around Valentine’s Day, and it is a real tear-jerker. If you like reading about how a matchmaker makes those matches, this story will give you a good idea. I breezed right through and was enchanted by the characters. Look forward to reading others in this series.

Wow. This theme blew me away. I liked it a lot and cheer because the author has made this story different. Mostly it is taboo but being a survivor myself I like when it is brought out there. Why not? A very well written short story with a likeable couple that have not had the best experiences in the past. Misunderstandings have to be addressed before they can have their HEA. Sweet, fun, serious, emotional and twisted story that is an entertaining read I only can recommend to others.
This is the 3rd book I've read written by Fiona Starr; she has done an great job at writing a good book; I will definitely be reading more of her books.
The story line caught my attention at the very beginning and kept me interested throughout the entire book.
I loved the chemistry between the characters.

If love was certain, they wouldn’t call it falling. Claire and Thomas met in an all fashion way with the matchmaker agency introducing them by exchanging letters. I wished it had been longer and their heartbreak was truly felt.

This story kind of takes you back in time to the days without computers and internet when people actually wrote letters to one another. I loved the story line and the characters who have a strong chemistry together. It's well written , moves quickly and smoothly and I enjoyed reading.
I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book. All opinions in this review are my own and freely given.
This not only made me laugh, and sigh, but also cry a little. This was so sweet and perfect. We also get to visit Blaze again and hear about Amelia, although Damon wasn’t around. This was one of the sweetest stories ever.
