Psycho will intrigue and captivate you taking you on a wild adventure giving you a taste of the dark side without haunting your every dream.

The chemistry between the two main characters is emotionally charged on lust, rage and the never ending battle of the minds

Oh I love a good crazy to bring in a new way of connecting with others! Dexter is beyond complicated, but so is his new mate😉 She gets him as much as he gets her... and for once both of them can obsess over things that can actual be. They’re passion for each other draws them away from their individual psychosis... and their past prey will be so thankful for the distraction of each other!

They click on a level no one else would understand... and that causes a lust that only they could handle. They are fire works!

My only complaint... the ending seemed too short...abrupt. I wanted to see them finish what they started a few times in this book. It’s felt like the ending left things quite incomplete for me... I wanted to see the connection come full circle.

Oh! Definitely read the BOUND Series and Noah’s story before diving into this guy... it will make so much more sense character wise 😉

I'm pretty sure I need to seek help after reading this book because who in their right (sane) mind completely swoons over a psycho?? Yes that would be me! Dexter (you don’t have to read the Chains series first but you totally should) is the type of guy who has that off the charts type sex appeal. I was pre-warned there was no sexual activity in the book but honestly with Dexter, his whole demeanor is enough hotness for me! I’m certain I had an out of this world experience while reading because I became obsessed. The best part is that you meet a new “character” *not spoiling anything* and this person is just pure perfection and perfectly suited for this book. No spoilers but the phrase “actions speak louder than words” is a phrase that most don’t understand but after reading this you totally get a sense of it. It’s very hard to write this review without clueing potential readers into the spoilers but I recommend everyone to read this! It’s not Shandi’s normal style of writing but she never disappoints. Though I may have questioned my own sanity after reading and falling in love with a psycho I believe everyone would enjoy this book. The ending is abrupt but not in a way that you don’t understand what happened it’s just such a shocker but not necessarily a cliff hanger. The brilliance of Shandi’s books is she always leaves the endings open to future books/novellas and this is one for sure I would love to see a sequel too!

As a fan of Shandi Boyes' books I was excited by this new release, especially as I had just finished the Bound and Perception series. This books tells the story of Dexter who we met as a stalker in the Bound series. And what a story this is. For those who have also read Nick's story in the Perception series this story has an unexpected twist that you will love.
This is completely different to Shandi's other books, yet it had me on the edge of my seat, unable to put it down.
If you have not read any of this author's series before, you can pick this up and read it as a stand-alone without any problem.
I loved this book, it is so different, yet totally captivating. I was disappointed when we reached the end, but not by how it ended. BRILLIANT, 3 wows and 5 stars!

Inside the mind of the dark and dangerous Dexter. We finally see what makes him tick. His childhood is like a major mindfuck. He becomes friends with someone that also has a connection to Reckless. Major shocker!!! This is a very dark romance that has a lot of suspense, twist and turns. The ending will blindside you. I just wish the story would continue on. It leaves you with several new unanswered questions, but still worth reading.

Dexter is planning his revenge and escape from a mental asylum hospital. He becomes friends with Claudia and makes a shocking connection. They’re on the run protecting one another and dealing with their mental illness. As their bond begins to grow and take them in another direction. So Dexter must decide which is greater his revenge against Marcus and Cleo or his past.

While reading this book all I could think was holy shitballs Batman! This book has so many twists and turns that you will feel like you’re finding your way out of a maze. The storyline follows closely to Dexter and you can truly see the genius side of his mind at work as well as his psychopathic side. There are moments you feel sorry for Dexter and moments where you stop yourself and think that there’s no way you could feel sorry for someone who is so broken in their own mind. If you love dark thriller romances then this book is definitely one for you, brilliant writing that won’t leave you disappointed!

This book can be read as a standalone story. This dark twisted romance develops as two seamlessly different characters meet and interconnect in the mental asylum. Dexter finds himself captivated by Claudia who he has never heard speak, although that doesn't seem to stop his attraction to her with her innocence radiating through her, although one monster can always recognize another. Even without her words Dexter finds himself wanting to claim and protect her from the guards. Dexter doesn't protect, he takes he destroys. Then why does he take Claudia when he escapes the asylum? Why is it she doesn't speak? yet they seem to be able to communicate without words. What is it about her submissive behaviour that pulls at him. This is a crazy mentally emotionally twisted person who can always see her thoughts maybe because they share the same craziness. This is a action fast paced game to Dexter until the games turns in an unexpected direction. What happens leaves you wanting more. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to reading more about these characters. Highly recommended read.

We originally met Dexter in Marcus and Cleo's story 'Bound'.
We thought we knew what he was like but nothing prepared me for the path this Story took.

It's Dark, Disturbing and Intriguing. It will have you on the edge of your seat. I just couldn't put it down!!!!

I want to say so much more, but I'm not spoiling it for you.

Trust me when I say you will not regret reading this!!! 😱

This book is not a genre i normally read but i had to read Dexter' s story since he was part of the Bound series. This book is definitely twisted and a whole lot of screwed up but I loved it. It all comes together in the end.
I just might have to go back and read Player of Life and Enigma now. Great book.

From there, we started to get to know Dexter and the sick mind games he plays. But that was nothing compared to what is in store for you when you read this book!

Dexter will intrigue you and capture your mind as he takes you on an adventure into the dark side that is his life!!

This is unlike any other Shandi Boyes book. The love is dark, twisted and depraved as love between two insane people can only be and yet it is just as deep and lasting as any normal love. After having read about Dexter and Megan/Claudia in previous books and while it is not necessary to have read them, this story gives a greater insight to some of their motivation. This story also gives a basis for the mental illness of these two characters and towards the end the reader has an empathy for them and a feeling that it is amazing they have been able to function at all given their experiences as children.

This is not a “nice” book but it is a fascinating and compelling read.

Incomparably and Ingeniously well written book!
Shandi has written a very different book this time. I have no idea how she does it except she must be brilliant! It was definitely a thriller and I found myself laying the book down to take a break and instantly picking it back up. Holding my breath constantly because I was nervous about what was going to happen. It was an excellently written story. She masterfully created the characters for this story line perfectly. I highly recommend it.

Psycho was not what I expected, it was so much better. You get a peek inside of the minds of two very disturbed individuals in this book. We had already met Dexter in the Bound series but this really gives you the motivation behind his actions. Be ready for darkness, bloodshed, and a sexy psychopath. this was such a page Turner and I could not put this book down. This was super dark and twisted and I couldnt get enough. Dexter is always searching for his next target and his new target is a mute woman named claudia who's just as crazy as he is. He is still out for revenge and claudia is the person who can help him get that but claudia has her own reason for escaping the asylum. She believes herover nick is waiting for her and she is eager to get to him so learned to trust dexter even though she sees the evil and darkness that consumes him everytime she looks into his eyes. In her mind Marcus is in love with her back but a lot of things happen in claudia's mind that arent reality. She doesnt thibknanyone can replace her love for Marcus until she meets dexter. something pulls her to him even though terrifies her ways noone else ever has. This was such a crazy story and I was sucked in right away and couldnt help but root for the bad guy. I mean after being raised by your crazy father who killed your mother in front of you, how do you not turn out to be crazy yourself when it's the only world you know. I couldnt help but feel bad for both characters. I really enjoyed this book though and look forward to reading more in this series. I feel like this could be read as a stand alone. I didnt have any issues following the story reading it without the others first.

WOW!!! This is not going to be many people's cup of tea. It is twisted, sick, manipulative, depraved, shocking and emotionally raw. Dexter is a sick man and he uses he sick genius and sucks Claudia into his world. This is not a "love" story. I am not sure I would even call it a romance except for the fact that Dexter is captivated and obsessed with the equally sick and twisted Claudia. This is a dark suspense novel that is a twisted, bent mind trip that will not be shaken off easily. There are no kid gloves in the telling of the story. It is full out in your face dark and twisted. Shandi Boyes is known for her dark romance stories and in this one she takes it to a whole new level. If you like not having a clue what will happen next and can appreciate a very dark twisted world than you will LOVE this one.

I gave it a good go, got to 30% but then I found my eyes drooping and my mind wandering to the mundane things like needing to go do the washing up.
Maybe it's because I haven't read the other books in the series?
Maybe it's because I am dark romance whore and this is Ms Boyes first time writing such dark themes?
I don't know what it was but it just didn't grasp my attention in the way I hoped. I felt like I was missing important information, initially I thought Marcus was Dexter's alter ego, then I got confused with the magazine thing. And the whole psychiatric ward thing, I couldn't get my head round that.
I might it give it another go at some point, but I'm thinking it definitely can't be read as a standalone without a bit more work doing to it.

Psycho is a psychological thriller that I didn’t know if was going to like, but I really enjoyed this book.We met Dexter in the series called Chains . Even though this book is a standalone I would suggest you read Chains, it will answer a lot of questions . Dexter is a sick and twisted individual that you can’t help but like. When he meets Megan you begin to see a change in him, even though she is just as sick as he is.

I loved this book especially the twist at the end. I hope this Shandi keeps on writing because I’ll keep on reading.

This is book 5 in a series, but I haven’t read any of the other books in this series and I was still able to follow and enjoy this book. Now this is an amazing story, it’s dark, very very dark with lots of twists, turns and emotions. The two main characters make a connection that transcends verbal communication, it’s as if they are truly meant to be together. Wow, what a ride!!!

This is a very twisted psychotic romance. Dexter is all kinds of messed up and looking for revenge. Megan is just a means to an end and a pawn in his chess game. Or so he thinks, what happens when a Psycho meets his match in a demure, innocent looking Schizophrenic. This story happens that's what and what a story it is. It's exciting, messed up, psychotic, with all kinds of dark twists and turns. Absolutely loved this story and I highly recommend it!!!
