For ten years of Gray Rose’s life she thought no other love could measure up to her long-time beau and baby’s father, Gunz Marciano, until she met Cameron Parthens Jr. He came into her life and turned everything upside down with his devastating good looks, cocky demeanor, brash attitude and unfiltered way of speaking. When they first met it was hate at first sight. She’d never met someone so rude and hood in her life. Cam made it clear he didn’t want a relationship. He just wanted to smash. Never in a million years did he plan on cuffin’ Gray and making her his wife but over time he found his self fallin’ hard for the plus-size, blue-eyed, half black and Korean beauty. Before Gray knew it, she too started catching feelings. She quickly found herself pullin’ up every time he told her to fall through. Over the course of two months, she and Cam formed a bond built on friendship, honesty, unconditional support and mind-numbing sex. Tired of Gunz playing games with her mind and nonstop cheating, Gray chucked him up the deuce and married Cam on a whim. But marriage doesn’t the fix the scars Gunz left behind. It forces her to realize she’s far more insecure than she thought. Cam also has leftover baggage from a previous relationship and deep dark secrets that may scare Gray away. Will Cam live up to his wedding vow and be the man Gray believes he is, or will he leave her heart even more damaged and broken than Gunz did?
Hailing from St. Louis, Missouri, Keisha Ervin is a prolific writer and devoted mother. Her success has drawn much deserved attention to herself and her hometown. She is the author of the National Best-Sellers Chyna Black, Me & My Boyfriend, Mina's Joint and Hold U Down, as well as the novel Torn and the short story After the Storm, featured in the Street Love anthology.
I love Keisha Ervin but this book wasn’t my favorite. I understand Cam is struggling with PTSD but he was a little too reckless with Gray and her kids. The way he talked to the women in this book and pulling his gun out. He was hella abusive and no different than Gunz honestly. I hope Gray focuses on herself and her kids in the next book. I could also do without the celebrity reality show vibes i was getting from this book. The cliff hanger was good though.
I really enjoyed reading this book. From the beginning it was hilarious, it had me in tears from laughter. I love Cam and Gray together, the love they have for one another is perfect. I hate to see women assume and jump to conclusion without getting to the bottom of things. Ladies can we be about our business and do some real investigations before we shoot first. Assuming makes an ass out of you. On another note, the secrets really irk my nerves. When are people going to realize secrets and lies get people killed. Gray should have told Cam that Gunz sent her the video, he would have known that Gunz was following him or had his people following him. Dumb Bitches. Gray begged for a husband but now that she has one she is repeating her same mistakes by putting her career before her man. Cam and Gray’s love/hate relationship is dangerous. Can’t wait to read the next book.
And she does it again!! Keisha Ervin has managed to produce yet another exceptional book! Gray and Cam and their bipolar ass relationship had me clutching my pearls. Ooh if they don't get it together... I can't escape the passion between those two. The way they are drawn to each other. I love how we see Cam and Grays barriers being broken down even though they try to keep them built up. I also like how the seriousness of PTSD was brought to the forefront because so many people spend their lives trying to mask it instead of getting the help they need. I need some much needed rest after all the emotions I went through reading this...I'm exhausted!!! But I Love It!!!!
OMG goodness what a book can't wait for sicko mode. Gary went thru so much in her relationship with Gunz after years of Cheating,Lies, Betrayal and drama. Gary married Cam and thought he was the one he wasn't really ready for marriage he was immature and didn't know how to love a woman. Gary and Can went thru ups and downs trying to grow as a couple. So many obstacles and road blocks to be together with both of their insecurities. It was a losing battle how could you love someone when you have so much emotional baggage.
Keisha girl you wrote the hell out this book!! This took me back to mina's joint and torn days with that being said I love me some cam I don't care,I don't care even with all his craziness I still love him.. I'm rooting for him and Gray but sidebar akoi need her a** beat grown wench!!! This book had everything that makes a good novel suspense, action, sex,and love. Good thing I don't have to wait to read sicko mode😜😜😜
My 6 word review: A book full of ooohs and ahhh moments
Gray and Cam story is similar to Chyna’s story with the break up to make up theme. But I am not annoyed with the roller coaster ride known as Gray and Cam’s love affair. I am literally rooting for them. They are made for one another. This book had a few moments that made my belly quake from laughter and had my mouth form into an O. It’s full of shock and surprises. I’m ready to see what the outcome is gonna be in Sicko Mode!
Where in the world did Gray go? Gray has been through so much I’ll be glad when it’s over for her. I pray she truly find happiness. She doesn’t deserve so much heartache and pain. Cam is sooooo arrogant I’m glad something took him down a peg or two. He was real besides himself. He thinking Gray set him up. I don’t think she did. I think LaLa and Gunz had something to do with it. I can’t wait to read the next book.
Man! My feelings are all over the place! The best books, in my opinion are the ones that make me feel every emotion throughout. This book delivered that and more. Keisha is the best and this book adds tongue reasons why I automatically get anything with her name on it. Buy it, buy it, buy it!
I will read any book by any author as long as there's originally and good reads , and I understand authors are readers too, this character Cam reminds to much of the male characters in author Shvonne Latrice books , which I was told Ms. Ervin has recently started reading ,so I had to remove 3stars for originally
That damn cliffhanger! I loved everything thing about this book, I felt all the emotions and the realness of every scene. Gray is the bomb, Cam can suck it for now, and the kids need their own book because they are hilarious! I aspire to be a bad bitch in the words of press! Ctfu. I can't wait to read the rest of their story.
The main thing that I take away from this is communication is key. You have to communicate and therapy is a must. Oftentimes things left unhealed continues to harm- whether it be ourselves or others. I almost got fed up with Cam and Gray and now I'm really mad at Cam and his egotistical, alpha male ways.
I was really feeling the kid (Killa Cam) him and Gray were so sweet together! But this dude is a total bone head! Nothing more to say! He let his paranoia get the best of him. SMH! This book was funny as hell though. Aoki needs her tail kicked. She couldn’t be my kid. Stacy was over the top. Quan is such a good friend. Poor Gray she just couldn’t catch a break.
Straight fire.... like i knew it was going to be. Cam and Gray are addictive. Their love story is haunting. I just need both of them to finally catch a break and win. Reading about Gray is like looking in the mirror. Keisha you touched my heart! Excellent job
I dont know if the name is for the book, the writer, or the reader. Cause it definitely had me in Beast mode by the time is was over. The story of Cam and Gray had me laughing, crying, and read to fight all at the same damn time. A must read.
I love Cam despite his mess ups. How you ended the book made me run to buy sicko mode. Just when I say I’m a real nigga and don’t cry tears here you come with a book like this. Awesome job!!!!
I do wishes this would end with a happy ending or at least it would end. But it didn't, and I'm going to hold on for the Next eopiside. It"a just that good!!
I can't wait to read Sicko Mode. I am cheering for Cam and Gray. They belong together. They need to work out there problems and stop running from them every time.
Absolutely one of the best books that have dropped in 2019! Yes I know it’s March but read it and you will see. You will laugh til you cry, cry the ugly cry, and get so mad you ready to fight!
